4 out of 5 eggsWorks fabulously! Attachments horrible.

Pros: Heavy piece of pure copper! The base is perfectly polished to a mirror-like finish!

The cooling on this made it possible for me to put 16gb of RAM on my GA-P45T-ES3G motherboard that only has 3 phases. It's inside a wooden case for my HTPC, so the ability to to cool the Northbridge was crucial!

Cons: The two arms for attaching to motherboard are useless bc they are at an angle and don't match up to the holes on any motherboard I've seen yet. I ended up having to attach permanently with Arctic Silver adhesive.

Other Thoughts: Extremely good heatsink. Yes, I was able to finally attach this by improvising, but had to knock an egg off bc a customer should be able to attach this with equipment in the box. the fact that the arms don't match anything I've found makes it tough to give it 5 eggs, despite it's near-perfect ability to draw heat from the chip.

5 out of 5 eggsFits like a charm

Pros: Fits right onto my nForce4 chipset on my Socket 939 board.

Comes with thermal compound.

Cons: $17 is a bit much to be spending on a part destined for a Socket 939 board, but it's worth it when your factory heat sink's fan is going and making unbearable noise.

BE CAREFUL WHEN OPENING THE PACKAGING! You sorta kinda have to He-Man it open, and the plastic pins are already in place where they would be if the heat sink were in place on the motherboard. Chances are you'll get a spring-assisted flight when you open the package.

On my board, the extra length of the heat sink's anchor holes bump up against an electrolytic capacitor (thankfully those are sealed) and a solid state capacitor (very bad) on one end, and one of the pins of a 3-pin fan connector on the other.

Other Thoughts: Note to self: All fans go eventually, but custom all-in-one sink-fan combos suck. What was my mobo mfg thinking?

Enzotech should reconsider using the word "polished." There's a lot of stupid stunts pulled out in the field and I didn't put it past Enzotech to have actually polished the base of the heat sink. Just shows that I've never seen a properly-lapped heat sink before.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent!

Pros: thing is a solid block of copper with fins, REALLY heavy for its size. Very smooth base, with only micro-pits that a keen eye can pick out. Still so smooth its optically reflective, and i had some fun bouncing a laser beam off it to torment my kitten.
came with a small foam square that helped keep the heatsink level and keep things from shorting out, and came with a tube of uber-cheap thermal grease that was more suspension-fluid than anything else. used some generic white goop, worked great.

Cons: pins are too small to fit in my board (GA-G41M-ES2L), but i ghetto-rigged it by making a pair of "backplates" for each pin for them to grab onto and hold. Not enough to take off an egg, enzotech cant account for everything.

Other Thoughts: Since this is pure copper, the pins are soft and bend very easily, and i noticed that while i was struggling to get this thing locked down, i had managed to squeeze most of the outer pins inwards. Quick fix with a flathead moved them back out into their original positions, and it worked great.

If you need something to cool that chipset or whathaveyou, get this, you wont be dissapointed.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Quality heat sink

Pros: This unit is made with very high quality..It is well designed and comes with mounting hardware including TIM material....I purchased this unit to cool my Northbridge on my GA-870A-UD3 motherboard..
The quality is why I gave it 5 eggs..
New Egg as usual gave fast delivery..That alone is worth 5 eggs..

Cons: This con is not for the HS itself but for the lack of detail specifically that the specifications did not reveal the diameter of the mounting push pins..It turns out that the diameter is too small and thus will not work in the above motherboard..Their webpage does give a detail footprint of this device but not push pin diameter.
It seem to be one of those un specified areas..It also comes with a small foam square material which will not prevent shorting if the HS is tilted from the two pin mounting design that Gigabyte and others use.

Other Thoughts: I finally got this installed but it took many modifications..First I had to make a mask of mylar to fit over the seat of the HS and cut out an open area so the Chip itself would make contact to the copper..This was to prevent the copper from shorting the adjacent capacitors next to the Northbridge..Then I had to scrap the push pin idea because as mentioned, they would not fit this board hole diameter..I had to use tiny Nylon Nuts and bolts to fasten the HS to the motherboard..Of course this all had to be done with the motherboard removed from the case..It would have been nice to see somewhere "Compatable with XYZ Motherboards...It was my fault for not questioning the Mfgr. B4 the purchase ..Overall there was some additional cooling but not a dramatic amount. Hope this will help others in their decision..Go to the manufactuer and question them about your specific need..

5 out of 5 eggsGot a hacksaw?

Pros: - Solid copper, you can feel how heavy it is
- Lots of spokes so it disapates the heat REALLY well
- Spokes are tall and thin, again, a heat slayer if you may.
- Super high quality copper because it didn't melt like butter under a hacksaw like other copper (piping)

Cons: - None, see other comments that are all MY FAULT
- thermal tape would have been nice, again, see comments.

Other Thoughts: SHORT:
great heatsink but use thermal tape for maximum contact

Unlike other reviews, I don't mark eggs off for my stupidity.
I have a vf1000 va cooler for my hd4870 and it overlaps on the SB to my gigabyte ep45-ud3p MOBO. This meant that with a hack saw and some VERY delicate and time cosuming work I had to kill some of the overhead that the sink has not to touch my VGA cooler.
THERMAL TAPE? I say thermal tape because my southbridge chip seems to be crooked or the mobo sits funny because I applied arctic silver 5 and when I took it back off, it seem to have only applied to part of the sink. I checked the sink against another one I had and you couldn't fit a breeze of air between them, SO i think the chip itself is warped.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Fit where i needed and dissipates heat well.

Cons: No way to attach a fan, but not really a complaint(i just used tape)

Other Thoughts: After realizing that my mobos onboard cooling was pretty much just plastic with a fan, i grabbed this and used it instead. Used double sided tape to attach a fan and was good to go. The fit was a little tight, but it works.
