4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler.. But...

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: Very nice cooler. Looks amazing for my build, I have a specific color theme throughout and this cooler was the only one on the market that is what I was looking for. If I had to pick just 1 item that I liked the looks of the most, It'd be this CPU cooler BY FAR.

The fans seem very high quality and very well built, I have full sized ram so my push fan is raised out a little bit so the ram and the fan do not touch, but that's not even noticable unless you actually look for it.

Cons: I will never, never in my life, install this for anyone. Not only will I not install it, but if for any reason I need to take it off and put it back on, I will be doing so in a computer shop and paying someone else to do it.

The instructions were not 100% clear, and a bit confusing. Putting on the back plate was fairly easy, but once I had to put the actual heatsink on, tighten it down, and put that bracket over it, It took me a good 30 minutes just to do that. Worse part I've ever installed on a computer

Other Thoughts: I will suggest this cooler to anyone and everyone I ever speak to. (After I explain how difficult it is to install though lol)

4 out of 5 eggsIt's all right

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: *big cooler
*nice colors
*140mm fans
*Excellent customer support
*Quiet

Cons: *cooling was not as good as expected for overclocking AMD fx8000 series
*temperature on cores peek quickly

Other Thoughts: Overall, the product is nice. It has a nice design and is quiet. It does cool, but not up to what I expected. Prior to this I ran a Hyper 212 Evo with a push and pull config and I felt that did as well as this Phanteks cooler. However, this product is backed with EXCELLENT customer service. I had problems with one of the fans when I initially bought it and they were prompt in answering their emails and made sure everything was set right. A great product with great customer service.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: Keeps my computer very cool and I leave it on a lot, almost 24/7

Cons: It is very very very big. Might consider measuring it because mine pushes my case a bit and i had to bend a little bit of the case to get it to fit

5 out of 5 eggsOverly Impressed

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: *Huge double towers with well spaced fins. Entire packaging and component set feels premium quality.
*Aesthetically pleasing, looks great in my case.
*The two included fans are high quality, and the cable shielding feels sturdy while remaining flexible.
*Cooling performance is exemplary.
*Easy to find on discount. Noctua-level cooling at 3/4 the cost.

Cons: *Mounting onto the CPU can be challenging. It took three attempts to correctly seat and requires a second pair of hands to attach. Doing this by yourself would be a challenge.
*As usual with towers this large, it's heavy on the mobo. Make sure you're thorough with tightening down bracket and motherboard case screws or this could be a problem down the road.

Other Thoughts: I initially bought this as an alternative to the Noctua DH-15 since it was significantly cheaper, and boy am I glad I did. i7-4790k at 4.7Ghz. Idles around 30C in ambient of 23, and runs 67-72C under full load. Never surpasses 75C in stress testing on a 700Mhz overclock.

Phanteks has gained a new long term customer.

5 out of 5 eggsTop Tier Air Cooler

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: *Color Customization
*Very Large U Shaped Heat Dissipation Fans
*Comes with two quality 140mm fans, supports three
*Heatsink paste is top tier

Cons: *Freaking Gigantic
*Contact surface had some slight scratches in the nickel plating that showed the copper underneath
*Fairly expensive

Other Thoughts: Got this cooler for my i5-4690k as I don't feel comfortable with liquid. Currently running at 4.4ghz with temps staying around 60c. This cooler is absolutely huge. The fans can be adjusted height wise but the heat fins actually cover up to the second ram slot. I had to remove the heat fins from my G. Skill Trident X because of the pressure it was placing on the stick in the second slot. If you don't want to go with an H100i or custom loop, I'd place this on the same tier as the Noctua D14. Overall I'm happy with my purchase at $55 with MIR.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: Amazing piece of hardware with a beautiful aesthetic.
The packaging is quiet pleasing to unbox and comes with plenty of screws and require parts for all sockets.

As for the performance, the fans are extremely quiet at silent to normal RPM, at max it's loud but not annoying.

During gaming load, it keeps my stock 5820K running very cool with the max temp being 45c even with my 290 crossfire setup blowing hot hair back in my case.

Installation is very simple on X99, though you will have to be delicate while screwing down the middle plate on to the cooler to avoid damaging the fins.

Cons: None, except I'm wondering where the version that ships with 3 fans went since this cooler has the capacity to hold the maximum of 3 fans.

Other Thoughts: Rebate process is pretty simple, just have to follow the instruction on the MIR form. Hopefully it gets process which would make this cooler the best price to performance Air Cooler on the market.

4 out of 5 eggsWell Done Phanteks

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: - The pictures don't do it justice. It is a very good looking cooler. I purchased the blue version and love that it goes well with my Define R5 and other blue accessories.

- The bracket isn't as difficult to install as some people say. It by no means is super easy but it's pretty straight forward and takes about half an hour with a normal sized screwdriver.

- Lowered my temps from 67C on an aging Corsair H60 to 50C at 100% fan speed for each cooler. That's an impressive drop. Very satisfied with the cooling performance on an OCd 2500k.

Cons: - To gain 5 stars from me the version I got could have included 3 fans like other packages of the earlier version that I've seen floating on the internet.

- Also the base plate was not perfect (aka mirror like) across the entire surface and that bugged me. Even though the cooling performance is probably negligible from a better finished surface, it sucks quality control didn't catch that it wasn't a completely smooth surface. I didn't have the resources or time to lap the surface on my own to correct the imperfections from Phanteks factory.

Other Thoughts: Exceeded my expectations and swayed me back away from AIO liquid coolers until I decide to get a good custom liquid loop. The AIO pumps were bothering me terribly and this Phanteks cooler eliminates that piece entirely and gives quality that is in the top 5 air coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsCool as Ice with my FX 8370!

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: This thing is awesome! I was overheating my AMD FX 8370 on all auto settings with the stock air cooler to 70+ degrees Celsius! Now, I am over-clocking the blk from 200 Mz to 210 Mz and she idles at 9-13 C! Under load she stays under 40 C with no problem! I have installed only one fan since my RAM and case are preventing me by about an inch.

The included fan is really quiet too! The fan mounting system is quite good and easy to use.

This is my first time upgrading a CPU cooler and I am very happy. I have been building PCs for myself and family for about 10 years and I really wish I had done this sooner. I will never use a stock cooler again!

Cons: Takes up A LOT of space.

Other Thoughts: So, if you have the room in your case (measure first!) then you will not be disappointed. This is one hell of an upgrade from the stock cooler and worth every penny.

Take your time during installation and make sure to move all cables away from fan blades and leave room for air circulation. I had a little trouble screwing in the cooler as it was being a bit squirrelly; I had to push a little to get it to catch on both sides.

5 out of 5 eggsBeast!

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: Absolute beast. I needed a better cooler for my FX8350 and this was the biggest out there! Keeps my Overclocked 8 core at a cool 35c at idle and 60c at full game mode!

Cons: A little difficult to install. TAKE YOUR TIME! READ THE DIRECTIONS!
Make sure you have a monster case or it wont fit.
