Cons: There are numerous issues with this product.
Design
- The clips to mount the fans onto the heatsink are a pain to clip to the fans
- The heatsink is so terribly designed it is nearly impossible to mount the thing to the cpu and your mounting hardware. Once you manage to get the screws started it is nearly impossible to tighten the screws with the provided allen key.
- Finally this is the BIG issue. The mounting hardware sucks. I started to tighten the heatsink to the mounting bracket... And the screws broke rendering it impossible to mount this behemoth onto my cpu.

Customer Support
- Got a quick response, but it took 3 weeks for the shipped replacement mounting hardware to arrive, then once it did it was for an intel cpu not an amd cpu.

Other Thoughts: Phanteks, with your reputation growing, I expected more, and was so let down. When your product breaks so easily, without me doing anything wrong, you need to fix that. And if I specify I need AMD mounting hardware and you ship it for an Intel socket... (and it takes 3 weeks to ship) That's when I lose all faith. You've lost a customer here. I'll be sticking with Cooler Master or Corsair from now on because you can trust their products.

Pros: works as advertised

Cons: top fan doesn't fit in my case. not really a design flaw or newegg's fault since specs were provided but you should be sure that it will fit inside your case before purchasing. also: I didn't really care for the fan attachments. it seems kind of flimsy and difficult to assemble.

Pros: It looks nice

Cons: I thought my 8350 was to blame for extreme temps, At stock clocks under full load I was running well OVER 65 degrees and rapidly climbing with prime95. After replacing the thermal paste with Arctic Silver 5 multiple times I gave up and left it alone until recently I put the stock cooler on with Arctic Silver 5 for the heck of it and MY TEMP IMPROVED! Now my PC stays about 60 at the absolute most at stock clocks under full load using Prime95.
The cooler I received was clearly defective,I wish I would have noticed it was the cooler rather than messing with the CPU for so long so I could have returned it.

Other Thoughts: I looked it over and there is no visible defects yet it is clearly defective. Next time I will buy a Noctua or a water cooling loop.

Pros: Actually works pretty well. Keeps temps around 30-34 degrees C. Not bad looking. Parts all fit.

Cons: Extremely difficult installation- be prepared to spend one good frustrating hour. Instructions are worthless and donot apply to 2011 v3. Although low profile ram from Corsair fit, the first PCI slot was blocked- of course that is the one recommended to use with the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Almost kept it - but I was sending back a Gskill Phoenix blade ( which only works with Windows - I think) and I was so mad I took the whole build apart.

Pros: copper with nickel plated heat spreader. Common design these days for air coolers. Big 140mm fans. Not as bulky as say a Noctua.

Cons: As per the title, it was a design mistake not to expect anyone using this cooler to also use memory with heat spreaders on them. Beware buyer, you cannot fit the lower 140mm fan onto the cooler without running into memory interference. It only lacks 3-5mm to clear even ripjaws tall heat spreaders. And beware of the possibility of the lower fan and or heatpipes also having clearance issues with the taller mosfet and ss capacitor heat spreaders common on todays high end motherboards. It is also almost impossible to install the cooler to an AMD socketed cpu with the lower fan already attached. So I could only use 1 fan of the 2 it came with. It may or may not pull enough air to keep my cpu cool enough for my liking. We'll see once my new sabertooth arrives in a couple days. -----broke off a capacitor trying to install this thing.

Other Thoughts: As I stated earlier, a design flaw is all it is. If they would just make the heatpipe/radiator combo a few mm taller, it would most certainly work with all types of heatspreader memory and the other head spreaders on the opposite side. I chose to attach mine with the heatpipes away from the memory banks and take advantage(supposedly if I didn't have the clearance issue)the 140mm fans heat take away from the memory too. This however cause another issue as well. How to change out memory at some point? Nearly impossible on my Asus Sabertooth motherboard. For the 80 bucks you spend on this, be wary of how it is going to fit on your motherboard and what it will block off or set up against.

Pros: cool down my asus rog hero

Cons: this thing was a pain to install into my motherboard. i had to take out my mother board out of my nzxt 530 source and install it

Other Thoughts: i wish phanteks would use a different mounting solution

Pros: this is a great heat sink on my athlon II X4 651K 3.5oc. It keeps it around 10C when playing games. idles at 3C. I messed up installing and lost some of the thermal paste so it barly has any paste on it and get these low temps.

Cons: None just make sure it can fits in your case

Pros: I really like these types of heat sinks. I prefer the down draft for airflow.

Cons: I don't like the mounting system on this heat sink. I have used screw types before and they just don't have the tension they require for optimal cooling. Tension clips or plates are better. Also no heat fins on the flat part closest to the cpu. There is a screw head in the way(for mounting).

Other Thoughts: For air cooling all my scythe kabuto downdraft heat sinks perform better than any other I have tried. I have one on the pc that I am on now an 8-core o.c. to 4.2 and right now the temp is at 28c. It has a tension clip for the socket. I like screw in types also as long as they don't have springs. The tension on the springs are never stiff enough. I have tried several spring mounting heat sinks and have always had to go to the hardware to get harder or stiffer springs or longer(more downward tension). Tighter tension creates better contact, less space between heat sink and cpu and better cooling a result. I never worry about warping the mobd, it has never happened to me, never a problem.

Pros: Its a good cooler. It does what it is supposed to do. I like the colors and how quite the fans are. I chose this over a slightly more expensive all-in-one WC kit. I like how the 140mm fans do more than just cool the CPU, they help cool the ram, MOSFETS, and VRM's. You can offset your fans a little to help cool other parts of the area around the CPU socket.

Cons: Kinda big, but that's a good thing. The bigger the fans the more of my mobo it cools. It is hard to install. I installed mine before i put my mobo into my case, and i still could have used a third hand to keep the cooler still as i tightened down the set screws. I chose to install mine with the heat-pipes toward the back of the case and because of the heat-pipes, the lower fan sticks out a little toward the ram slots so if you are using other than standard ram you might have a problem with using the first slot. The TIM is really stiff and doesn't spread out all that well without a lot of help. I will be reseating mine with some Artic Silver 5 or Arctic Silver Céramique 2.

I gave 4/5 eggs because of how hard it is to install on my mobo. it would have been way easier if Phantek placed spaces in the radiator that coincided with the set screws so we could have used the Allen wrench as a screw-driver to seat the cooler, instead of using the short side of the Allen wrench.

ATM i'm running 20x200=4200Mhz all "green stuff"off and no turbo core and don't see anything over 45c in benching/stress testing. But if your looking to do some greater OC then this might not be what your looking for in a cooler. I'm not giving up on this cooler as of yet i think it will yield more if i change around fans in my case tweak some fan profiles.

This cooler fits just fine in my case. i didn't have to mod or remove anything to get it to fit. I am still using the side window fan that came stock with my case.

Would i recommend this cooler to others...YES

Pros: looks.... better then kick in the buttons

Cons: was going to wait before re post but one fan is knocking or just dies 2days really this price .. not happy ATM maybe why the reds on sale its goofed ..an still no better then my way cheaper heatsinks
