5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Great Performance
Great Looks
Two Fans included

Cons: Phanteks Thermal paste is not the greatest

Other Thoughts: I love this HSF and recomend this or it's big brother to anyone I hear use the phrase "but Noctua is so ugly"

i wanted something aroudn the same form factor as a hyper 212 but having been documented as out performing it, this fit the bill nicely and being able to pick colors was the icing on the cake.

word of advice just go ahead and buy a tube of Artic Silver and forgo the meh past included.

5 out of 5 eggsBest air cooler there is!!!

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: -Absolutely fantastic design.
-Comes with high quality thermal paste so you don't have to worry about that.
-Keeps the CPU cool under heavy load.
-Easily the best after market cooler I've ever bought. Worth every penny.

Cons: -Big and not for mid-sized cases.
-Spinning at full RPMs it is loud, but worth it.
-Power cable to fans is short and just barely reaches the proper port.

Other Thoughts: Continues to blow my mind on how amazing it works. When idle it keeps my CPU (FX-6350) cool at around 12C at stock clock speeds. For all you people thinking, "Wait... 12C? I only speak American." Well that my friends is 53.6F in idle. And seeing as i live in a house that's 72F on an average day, that is almost a whole 20F cooler than my room. This thing is not a cooler, it's a freaking refrigerator! Under max loads my CPU runs at 36C at stock speeds, which is approximately 96.8F. Let me put that straight, I live in Texas where it is 104F outside right now. This cooler is keeping my CPU under max load colder than a typical summer day in Texas. If that for some reason doesn't blow your mind into a million pieces and make you add this to your wishlist or cart immediately then something is wrong with you. Now it might be a little loud, but to be able to compete with a liquid cooler for a fraction of the price is absolutely worth the buy. Easily the best air cooler I've bought for myself.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tower Cooler

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Huge and uses push pull for putting air through the heatsink.
8 heatpipes going up through heatsink
Super quiet.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This fan stands just shy of 160mm off of your case so make sure you have room. Have one in a rosewill armor evo and another in a cuboid had about half an inch to an inch to spare. Definitely recommend to anyone

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Quiet

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Purchased so I could overclock my FX- 6300. What a great choice. Idling at 28 deg. C, Witcher 3 at 48 deg. C. I could not be happier

Cons: None

I am only writing here to meet the 5 word requirement.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely recommend this product. Will definitely purchase from this company again

5 out of 5 eggscall me impressed

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: this thing is impressive, moves lots of air and keeps my I5 very cool. it was very easy to install and have not had any problems with it at all

Cons: the only con is it does cover the first ram slot. But the ram slot is still usable, just needs a low profile set.

Other Thoughts: would recommend this to any one, and would not think twice about buying this again.

1 out of 5 eggsSloppy Construction

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: N/A

Cons: This cooler did not sit level and square when mounted. When looking at it from the horizontal it looked like the leaning tower of Pisa.

When looking at if from above it appeared "twisted' like a double helix and its lines of vertical and horizontal symmetry were not parallel with the horizontal/vertical lines of the case. In other words, it didn't look like a square sitting inside another square with the edges being parallel. It looked like a square placed haphazardly inside another square at some rotated angle.

The heat plate was flat, it made full contact with the processor. The problem was that the heat pipes were not held in alignment when this thing was put together and it was allowed to twist all over the place before everything was sintered and made secure.

Other Thoughts: Maybe what I got was a poor example of QA/QC but otherwise it would seem this company needs better fixtures for assembling these things, if they're using any at all.

5 out of 5 eggsCompetent Cooler

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: We have three systems with Phanteks units installed-any heavier duty builds are liquid cooled. This particular cooler is mounted on an i3-4150 which is running folding simulations. The folding client is set at "light" which is showing temperatures in the 40C/104F to 46C/114F range. Quite a drop from using the stock cooler. Since repetition breeds familiarity, installation was straightforward. If you're up to some fun, install it using one of the other language instruction sheets! However, if you have a smaller case, a little time and ingenuity may come into play-such as using 12 inch tweezers to attach the cpu connector. This installation is in a CM N-200. As with the other Phanteks coolers, this one is very quiet which is good when you're surrounded with three other systems.

Cons: As has been noted, mounting the cooler to the strip adapters can be daunting. Patience and finesse will do the job.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to anyone needing a light to medium duty cooler. Since this is our third, we have confidence in the product .

Newegg shipping has been great as always-expected three day delivery and got it in two!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler Phanteks

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Good cooler, not to loud, moves a lot of air. Keeps my temps at 100% load on average about 7-10 degrees cooler than my H60 did

Idle temps 22-30 Celsius
Load temps 40-65 Celsius
powering a i5-4690k

Cons: The install instructions were kinda lacking.
Route your fan cables before installing the fans.
I have this Clicking noise where it sounds like the Fan physically touches the heatsink and grinds but i cannot pin point the exact location. Readjusting the fans doesn't seem to help.

after replacing a faulty corsair H105 extreme with this, and having to wait so long for refund/replacement fan due to weather, i really don't feel like RMA-ing this for a small clicking noise. It doesnt seem to be affecting performance.

Other Thoughts: The instructions say nothing about socket 1150 even though it supports it, i guess the layout for this socket is the same as one of the ones in the instructions "Like most people know that"

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but frustrating install.

This review is from: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_RD Dual 120mm PWM CPU Cooler

Pros: Does what it's designed to do exceptionally well.

Paired with an AMD FX 8320 @ 4ghz I have yet to see temps over 40C even under after a long run of Prime95. Idle temps are under 20C.

Looks good. Goes very well with my red/black theme.

Quiet. Quality is very good. Price is right.

I used this in the first completely new build I have done in over 6 years so I don't have much to compare it to. Old cooler was a CM N520 which was loud, and barely kept my old PhII 925 under 50c while gaming. Needless to say this is leaps and bounds above that.

Cons: The install was far and away the most time consuming and frustrating part of my build. Took over 30 minutes and some busted knuckles just to get the cooler mounted onto the provided brackets. Getting the spring-loaded screws to start threading onto the posts on the brackets took so much force that it actually caused my new motherboard to flex so much that it made me uneasy.

Other Thoughts: I don't believe I'll ever be removing this cooler unless absolutely necessary. Installation was a headache.
