Phanteks PH-F120MP 120mm Radiator Fan

The PH-F120MP 120mm High Static Pressure Premium Fans from Phanteks is designed with the Maelström concept technology. The fans have PWM built-in, requiring fewer cables so users can make speed adjustments from 500 - 1800RPM. The PH-F120MP, a high static pressure fan, can have the ability to overcome the airflow restriction caused by high fin density. PH-F120MP produces high static air pressure, allowing for a direct and focused airflow and making them ideal for the densely packed fins of a radiator. With the addition of the UFB Bearing, a longer lifespan and stability is possible.

Phanteks PH-F120MP 120mm Radiator Fan
Maelström Vortex Booster (MVB) II

The new nine high-pressure MVB blades are precisely angled to generate a silent controlled airflow. The blades produce a downdraft vortex allowing for greater amount of air passage through and reduced airflow turbulence across the surface of the blades to create significantly better performance and airflow while keeping noise to a minimum.

Acoustic Dampers

Eight pre-installed rubber pads are now bigger and designed to reduce more vibration.

Features

The PH-F120MP, a high static pressure fan, overcomes airflow restriction caused by high fin density. PH-F120MP produces high static air pressure, allowing for direct and focused airflow and making them ideal for the densely packed fins of a radiator.

The PH-F120MP has a larger base size with a magnetic brushless DC motor to avoid the effects of resonance and for rotational stability. To create better structural strength, Phanteks redesigned the back frame of the PH-F120MP. Phanteks fans now come with pre-installed rubber pads to help reduce vibration.

With the noise reduction challenges in mind, we modified the component for lower actuator noise, PCBA for lower electromagnetic noise, brushless motor structure for lower operating noise, and frame rib for lower wind and vibration noise.

Updraft Floating Balance (UFB) Bearing

Composed by MOSS and SSC systems, Phanteks’ UFB bearings have an effective hub-tip ratio to achieve a state of equilibrium reducing air and vibration noise. SSC provides an increase in the bearing’s lifespan and ensures that the fan’s axis is consistently operational and quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Radiator fan. In line with what I've come to expect from Phanteks

Pros: -Great, solid build quality
-Padded corners
-Good looks
-No issues when used with PWM

Cons: -Rumor has it, the bearings Phanteks uses are essentially just sleeve bearings. We will see how well they hold up over time.

Other Thoughts: I purchased these to replace two Corsair SP120mm fans on my H100i AIO cooler. They were too noisy at low levels, and at low RPMs one of the fans would make a weird bobbling sound (mounted horizontally). Purchased these fans to replace the Corsairs, hoping they would fit the bill and be a little quieter. I can certainly say they are a big improvement for my needs. They may not have the same cooling on the top end as the corsairs use brute force to push more air through the rad, but the Phanteks keep my CPU comparably cool, and do it with finesse.

3 out of 5 eggsWell I wanted them to be great..

Pros: Feel very solid. Rubber isolation and high static pressure.

Cons: MOTOR NOISE! I am very big into silent cooling and a lot of reviewers have no idea how I fan is supposed to sound. I bought these fans based on reviews here and had someone mentioned the motor noise is pretty bad I would have never gotten them. I have been building computers for 16 years and have built hundreds including my own with a custom water loop. I know a good fan when I hear one. My Noctua Redux 140mm fans sound amazing.. I should have stayed with Noctua.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Fans

Pros: Very quiet. I dont't really hear them at all unless I'm stress testing my CPU. Very sturdy and seem well built. I've never tried a Noctua, but these fans are great and cheaper.

Cons: Rubber feet make them a little bit thicker than most other fans.

5 out of 5 eggsA Fan of Phanteks

Pros: Whisper Quiet, Much quieter than Noctua
Good Airflow
Quality construction
High Static Pressure with all of the above.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using two in an NCASE M1 v4 ITX with Corsair H55 Quiet edition w/5820k. Silent and cool. Can't imagine a better fan for such tight quarters while demanding performance and silence.

5 out of 5 eggsClosest to noctua

Pros: amazed,
the best fan Ive ever owned other than Noctua NF-F12's
seemingly better airflow than ^ (higher base rpm)
best bang for buck of the high class tier of fans.
its actually a usable color.
whisper quiet. even at full tilt quieter than my fractal r2 120mm at 50%
beefy build quality

Cons: has slightly higher base operating voltage than Noctua NF-F12.
^ therefore runs at slightly higher rpm than ^ with a smidgen more noise.
beefy build quality makes them slightly large for 120mm fan and can give some clearance issues with a large heatsink with large dimms. do your research. my fan touches my dimms another mm id be shopping for lower profile dimms.
i know these fans are the best of the best. but fans in general for a pc should never be more expensive than a house fan. yet we all pay it for the sake of silence and sexiness.

Other Thoughts: still even though its a smidgen louder at lower rpm. (used as push pull on hyper212evo) still too quiet to hear with case closed and even on open bench need to have ear next to it to here.
disclaimer im running at 22% PWM push pull.
arctic mx4 hyper 212 with these on push pull with 8350 @ 4.7ghz idle 33c load 68c with fans at 22%!! full tilt load from 50-55c

End story HIGHLY recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsThey are the Shizzz

Pros: Look great. Feel and look quality, thick plastic. Quite!! Bought these for my H100i GTX. The stock corsair fans where loud when they ramped up. At idle they run at 60% / 800RPM and are dead silent and at full speed are the quietest fans I've ever owned. I had some Noctua fans which where good but these are better at almost half the price, and not dodo brown.

Cons: No complaints

Other Thoughts: So good I ordered 3 XP case fans to replace my Noctuas. I have to really try to hear my Lian Li PC-V359WX box now.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Silent Radiator Fan On A Budget

Pros: -Almost dead silent
-Nicely sleeved cables
-Premium material feel
-Good static pressure and air flow
-Awesome packaging
-Have I mentioned super quiet???

Cons: -Cables are too long for my setup and clutter up the back of my case, but this may not be the case for everyone
-Anti-Vibe rubber corners start to peel off if screws are too tight
-Blank white and black color scheme is a bit dull (wish these came in solid colors as my build is red-grey-black)
-

Other Thoughts: I love these fans. As you can probably tell, all of my cons are specific to my setup, so you may not experience any of them. I have to say the silence of these fans "blew me away" (pun definitely intended) I came from a couple Corsair sp120-l's on my H105 rad and the difference in sound output is polar. I have a silence optimized build running in a noise-dampened NZXTH440, so I'm a stickler for noisy parts, and these saved the day, as the Corsair fans are turbojets. On top of that, I don't see any difference in performance when doing stress/heat testing. Right when you take these out of the box, they feel well built. Plus they're $15, which is an absolute steal,

If you're looking for a super silent radiator fan that doesn't lack the performance of other silent fans and can look good in any system (*cough* noctuas *cough*) then go with these.

5 out of 5 eggsmy new go to radiator fan

Pros: i have two of these in push on my h100i to replace the stock fans. i have them running at 700rpm and can barely hear them, i have bitfenix prodigy on my desk, right next to me. light to moderate use temps are between 35*C-40*C on my 4690k. i bump them up to 1000rpm when gaming and still can barely hear them and maintain roughly the same temps, depending on intencity.

these fans are an extremely good value for the price, i plan on replacing all of my fans over to these.

Cons: white blades do actually match my case theme, but still would prefer all black.

Other Thoughts: i cant exactly put this under the cons column, but the sieving on the wires is like a rubberized para cord. the sieving seems slightly too large for the wire, and it makes the wire stiff so when trying to bend it around a corner or obstacle it kinks.
however i do appreciate the fact that they are sleeved and durable

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Radiator Fans

Pros: Using these on my first custom liquid cooling loop.
They are pretty quiet, no complaints there.
Seem to effectively cool this radiator, under full load i5 2500 (non -k) didn't pass 40C.
Will definitely consider these again when doing main computer on liquid.

Cons: Can always wish for them to be quieter ;]

Other Thoughts: These + Phanteks PH-F140SP_BK are my first experience with Phanteks and I am definitely impressed.
