ZEROtherm's GX815 keeps your video card cool even during the hottest FPS gaming action. The universal mounting bracket lets you attach the cooler to most nVIDIA and ATi cards. The 32mm profile lets you use this cooler in SLi/CrossFire applications.

The large 6mm heatpipe connects the 120 copper fins to the polished copper heatsink, maximizing thermal transfer. Keeping your memory cool is as important as it is for the GPU the kit comes with high performance thermal grease and heat sinks for the memory chips.

A temperature sensor automatically adjusts fan speed between 1,200 and 3,000rpm. The dual ball bearing fan and efficient fin design keep noise to a low 18.5 to 33.8dBA, so all you hear is your game.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate---AC on the VGA

Pros: Buy this if you having cooling issues with your card. The Compatibility list is NOT complete, email the company they are quick to reply.

Cons: One issue...if your mobo does not have a open 3 pin fan connection you will need to purchase an adapter with this unit. I would suggest 4 pin molex adapter to 3 pin fan adapter. Newegg sell these and you should have plenty available on your power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsAC on the VGA

Pros: Impressed by this unit...my XFX 9800 GT is running 25 degrees cooler with the GX815 running on the card under a load. The stock XFX fan could not keep the unit cool under load, causing the card to shut down. Now I never get over 55 degrees under load...perfect solution!

Cons: No heat sinks for the voltage regulators...small photos and print on the instructions.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing!

Pros: lowered my temps by 50c on a radeon x1900xtx! also turned it from a dustbuster to almost complete silence. glad i bought this instead of a new card, i can now hear my raptor hard drive, amazing!

Cons: missing a screw and thermal paste was so dry it was like silly putty, luckily i had soem arctic silver 5 on hand and they did include extra sli screws which work. strange.

Other Thoughts: not a bad buy for me as it lowered my temps from the hideous 900lb vaccum machine that was installed previously by the manufacturer! I would buy again in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsCooling Goodness

Pros: This cooler is amazing :D I mounted it onto my ASUS ATi 4850 and dropped my temps by 30 degrees Celsius. Under normal operation it runs between 75 - 80 and under load it would peak around 90 - 100 degrees clesius. With the cooler now in place my video card is sitting at a cool 38 degrees C. and under load it doesn't break over 60 degrees C. Thats an amazing 30 degree drop between the stock cooler and this. It's also whisper quite. I don't hear it over my case fans and installation was straight forward. The ram heat-sinks that come with the cooler are pretty good as well. Just be sure to press firmly to ensure that they make good contact.

Cons: This is really not a con but something to bear in mind. If you are purchasing this cooler for your 4850 be sure to also purchase some additional heat-sinks, because the ones that come in the box only cover the ram. You'll need additional heat-sinks for the voltage regulators and other little things at the end of the card.

Other Thoughts: I'm not the kind of person who like to turn my case into a glowing box of light, so i was a little hesitant about the LEDs that were incorporated into the fan design, but actually i'm really happy with it. The LEDs are not as dominating as i thought they could have been. They give off a nice soft glow, so the light is not pouring out of my case. And being in a dorm like setting that is a real plus.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm impressed!

Pros: The GX815 absolutely does what it's supposed to do. My XFX 9800 GT now runs much cooler and quieter. With the stock cooler, the GPU idled at 75C. I didn't even want to know what it ran at loaded, so I never checked. Within minutes after installation, my XFX card was idling at 46C and running loaded at 54C. What a huge difference! Plus, even with the GX815 fan running at full tilt, it was barely audible over my quiet 120mm fans. This is a sharp-looking unit enhanced by the blue LEDs. The bottom was polished to mirror-like perfection. The installation was relatively easy. The thermally controlled fan works as advertised.

Cons: The instructions say the fins are sharp. I found that out when I was working in the case and trying to stick the fan wire somewhere it didn't show. I've got cuts on my hand where the fins nicked me. Other than that, the only negative was getting one of the heat sinks to stay stuck on a memory chip. I double-cleaned each chip (as well as the GPU and the GX815's vase) with denatured alcohol, wiped them dry and dried them with compressed air for good measure. With any luck, all the little heat sinks will stay on. I wasn't sure about their green color, but they actually look very high-tech with the blue LED lights on them.

Other Thoughts: I couldn't find anything saying that the GX815 would fit on my XFX 9800 GT, so I e-mailed GEOtherm's tech support and asked. In less than a day, I received a reply saying that it would work on my card. They even sent a JPG showing the cooler on a reference 9800 GT. That sold me on GEOtherm and now I'm sold on the GX815. Get one. You won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 eggsvery good cooler for 4850

Pros: Very good cooler, matches a Duorb cooler but runs quieter and has a thermal fan controller.

Cons: picture is very deceptive, this cooler is not as small as the picture shows and it doesn't list that it fits the 4850 but it does. Not enough heatsinks for voltage regulators

Other Thoughts: very well made is better than a Zalman VF900 , my card idles at 40c and under load in crossfire (two cards double the heat) 70c a single card 60c
