5 out of 5 eggsIt was retired today, after 7 years of good work

Pros: It kept my CPU cool for 7 years. I only reseated it one time and reapplied thermal grease.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Normally wouldn't write a review for a discontinued item, but this thing was amazing. I upgraded my CPU today and got a new heat sink and realized that I never had a single issue with that CPU cooler in the last 7 years.

4 out of 5 eggsCool but LOUD!

Pros: Sexy blue LED, offers plenty of cooling, and is still running perfectly to this day (over 2-3 years later).

Cons: Very loud, and is quite large in size.

Other Thoughts: Overall this CPU is great, and if it wasn't for the fact that it is so loud, I'd give it 5 eggs, no doubt! I never noticed it was loud until I got a super quiet PC case. I then wondered why my PC was still so loud, and sure enough, it's the fan on the CPU cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsStill runs great!

Pros: Keeps my CPU at ~55 degrees Celsius while gaming after 1+ years of use.
The blue Led matches what I like.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A wee bit big for my case.
I broke off a tip of the heatsink in my clamshell case. (Raidmax smilodon. N82E16811156062) mostly on purpose I guess.

5 out of 5 eggsI'd recommend it.

Pros: Dropped my temperatures on my Phenom II X4 Black Edition by about 15 degrees Celsius when I installed it. I can't hear it run--it's very quiet. Looks sharp. Dead easy to install. I'm only using the stock thermal paste so it could probably be even better.

Cons: It's big. You'll want to make sure your case has plenty of room, although most mid towers probably will be okay.

Other Thoughts: I've used this in three separate builds, one of which is my own personal rig. I love it, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU Cooler

Pros: This thing will definitely keep the CPU cool. Running Idle at 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.

Cons: The only con would be if you could not fit this cooler in your computer. It's about twice as big as the stock I7 coolers from Intel. It is slightly louder than the stock coolers, but no big deal in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Installation should be easy for new builds. Before you install the motherboard just go ahead and put on the back plate for the cooler, apply your thermal compound to the processor and install it, then go ahead and screw in the cooler while holding the back plate. If you don't hold the back plate you probably will not be able to screw the heatsink in correctly. For those looking at upgrading your heatsink, be prepared to take out the motherboard.
Cooler fits perfectly in Antec 1200 case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreatest cooler ever

Pros: Cools my i7 870 really well. Idle's at 22c-28c depending on room temps. I don't overclock, I just like a cool running system. It's also make likes no noise at all. I got a slew of other fans that i can't say that about.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

Pros: Great Cooling
Secure
All Metal construction other than backplate
Fins are stronger than most
Fins seem to have rounded edges so they're not sharp
Removable Fan to make mounting easier

In my opinion one of the biggest advantages of this cooler is how securely it is attached. One of the major reasons for bad temps is a poorly mounted Heatsink, that will not be an issue with this cooler.

Overall I would just say this is a well thought out and designed cooler. There are certainly areas I think could be improved but you would be hard pressed to find a better heatsink on the market currently.

Cons: Tall
May need to remove Motherboard from PC to install
More parts than your average cooler

If you are in a smaller case with a side fan over your CPU area you may have problems with this heatsink as it is pretty tall.

This heatsink also came with multiple brackets, and the 775 bracket which I used had several adjustable pieces which were seperate from my plates. Not a huge deal for me, but could be for some. It would be nice to see those extra corner screw brackets actually attached to the main bracket then just slide back and forth instead of coming completely unattached from the main bracket.

Removing the motherboard in order to install the backplate will most likely be required(depends on your case). That is an unfortunate downside to this style of bracket but well worth the hassle for the secure mounting in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: I have got to say this is one of the best heatsinks I have used, and I have used many of them.

I love the screw bracket mounting because it is so much more secure than most of those cheap plastic push pin ones. However, this does mean you will most likely have to remove the motherboard from the case in order to mount it (well worth it in my opinion).

I had horrid temps with my previous "good" cooler because of the poor mounting method. My load temps literally dropped about 20 degrees by installing this new heatsink. (actually hit 79 degrees under load before, the very reason I purchased a new heatsink, my current max is 59 degrees under load. Idle is now around 37 degrees.

Hands down the best CPU cooler I have used.

5 out of 5 eggssweet cooler

Pros: Installed this cooler in an Antec 900 on an E8500. Put in service Nov. 2008. Quiet, reliable, CPU never cracks 35c in normal use. Can mount in any direction (at least on a 775). Superb cooler.

Cons: Big. Not small. Somewhat large.
