With the speed at which computer components now run, there is a tremendous amount of heat generated inside a PC. While case fans help cool the system, they generally only provide horizontal airflow. With that in mind, Vantec introduces the Spectrum Fan Card. Utilizing any available PCI slot, the Spectrum Fan Card serves a dual purpose of directly cooling any PCI/AGP cards surrounding it as well as providing better air circulation with two adjustable fans. Made from UV sensitive material and featuring built-in UV LED lights, the Vantec Spectrum Fan Card lights up your case while cooling it down.

  • newegg PCI Card Styled Fan Array With dual 70mm ball bearing fans with adjustable speeds at 2400~4000RPM on a PCI card styled board, the Vantec Spectrum Fan Card can be installed in any available PCI slot, providing up to 29.54 CFM airflow in vertical direction for increased air circulation and lower case temperature.
  • newegg Light Up Your System With built-in ultra bright UV LED lights, the Vantec Spectrum Fan Card emits mystic blue light for eye-catching fun and enhanced ambience, perfect for cases with side see-through window.

1 out of 5 eggsIts dead, Jim.

Pros: Slot design, dual fans, quite, speed regulation

Cons: Died too soon.

Other Thoughts: Bought 6/13 off another retailer. Case temps started getting high few days back. Pulled it out of my PC last night, both fans completely seized up. Do Not Buy.

5 out of 5 eggsVantec Spectrum Fan Card with Dual 70mm Adjustable UV LED Fans - Model SP-FC70-BL

Pros: Sleek looking and great blue LED lights to light up the bottom of my case. It helps cool down my Video Card and pushes air up to the CPU and in turn cooling it down as well. It has a slider selector for the fan speed which is awesome when playing high demand games.

Cons: Can be a bit loud when the slider is on the high setting, but then again, the loudness doesn't bug me, I think it makes the computer sound like a beast. It didn't have 3/4 pin connector to connect to the motherboard instead. not gonna deduct an egg for it though cuz this is a nice fan. It does take up a PCI slot but I knew this when I purchased it. I tried to put it up by the CPU but because the fan has the plastic stubs for a PCI/e slot it would work up the VGA Card. Unless I can Jimmy Rig it somehow.

Other Thoughts: A sleek addition for air movement in the case.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling

Pros: This was a great little fan to add on to my already existing build. I tried a couple of different configuration from drawing air, to direct airflow contact, they were comparable when it comes to heat management. Dropped my GPU heat by about 5 C*.

External fan speed adjustment is a huge plus. If I know I will be doing some intense gaming, I will crank it all the way up. LOTS of airflow!

Cons: The vertical stability uses an AGP slot. The downside to this is if you don't have a AGP slot where you want to position the fan, then it will simply just hang on by the screw support. Minor flaw, but easily worked around.

Only other flaw is how loud this thing is on full speed.

Other Thoughts: Ill see how this thing holds up in the long run. I've heard many say the fan didn't last more than a year. Cheap, but effective, so i'm not worried.

1 out of 5 eggsUnacceptable Noise Level

Pros: Dual 70mm fans

Cons: Unacceptably loud and nasty in the horizontal position. This unit is supposed to be ball bearings, read: plural. When the fans are in the horizontal position (vertical axis) it very loud and grating at even the lowest setting.

Other Thoughts: Pray for the return of the Scythe Slot-Rafter, which you can use to install the quality 80mm fans of your choice.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent for what it is

Pros: It can replace a built on gpu fan that failed. It lowers temps on gpus w/ or w/o fan by alittle bit.

Cons: Only lasted alittle over a year before its voltage regulater dyed and needed to be hardwired to a wall plug.

Other Thoughts: I got this one becuase the used one I bought about a year before hand still worked great, I hoped this would proforme the same. It has not but the even older used one still works fine. If you dont mind alittle wiring work, this should last you for years. Will buy again If I can find it again.
