Use that spare, unused PCI card slot to get rid of excess hot air in your desktop. The AOC FC-2000 sleeve-bearing, system blower exhaust fan quickly installs into a vacant back-panel PCI opening. Using a turbine-style design, the 3,200rpm, 111mm fan pulls hot air from your PC's interior and forces it out the back. A simple connection to a standard 4-pin power port from the power supply is all that's needed for power.

  • newegg High Performance Operating at 3200 RPM, the AOC FC-2000 delivers strong air flow of up to 42 CFM for impressive levels of heat dissipation.
  • newegg High Reliability The ball bearing fan promises up to 50,000 hours of operating time for excellent reliability.

4 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Moves a good amount of air, quiet when under 70% fan speed and air can still be felt at that speed.

Cons: Does not sit straight, loose in bracket even wheb screw is fully tightened, noisy when at full blast, power cord feels flimsy. Overall design not very attractive.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. For this price, you can't expect much. It works, I guess?

1 out of 5 eggsNice Idea, Bad design

Pros: Looks nice
Not very noisy at all
Cheap price

Cons: I don't think the manufacturer really thought about it the design. Heat rises, so ideally you would put this above your PCI devices to help blow some of the heat out. So how does putting the fan input on top really help? I did flip the bracket so that the fan input was facing down, but either way made no differences in air circulation or the temperature inside the case. Doesn't really feel like much air flow at all.

5 out of 5 eggsLoud, but works

Pros: Small
Easy to install
Simple

Cons: Loud, no adjustable speed. See "Other thoughts"

Other Thoughts: I got this fan so it could exhaust heat from my GPU. Not surprisingly, a direct connection from the power supply to this fan causes it to be loud. Like, very noticeably loud. You have solutions to choose from that vary from getting a full blown fan controller, to a variable resistance molex connector, to a fan-molex adapter.

My solution was to remove the pins from the casing and connect the male ends to a molex connector on my power supply. However, when connecting, the red pin went to the yellow connector while the black pin went to the red connector. This effectively makes it receive lower voltage (therefor receive less power and in turn, lower fan speed).

Try looking up "how to create a three-speed fan control without spending a dime" if you need more details. This kind of solution probably voids whatever chance you have at returning the product, so keep that in mind.

4 out of 5 eggsGood... but i'd like to slow it down.

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do - moves alot of air out of the case. Installed next to a hot video card, it takes the heat away at the source.

It works.

Cons: I don't want to use this anymore until I get some kind of power regulator / dimmer switch on it because it blows a bit loud all of the time. Not "noisy" but the wooshing is very apparent and makes a draft in the room.

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent idea and if you're always running your video card full-force, it may be just what you need. But I don't need that much velocity from a fan 99% of the time, so I 'm not using it anymore until I find the right product to slow it down.

5 out of 5 eggsImperative

Pros: After 4 years it began to throttle and slow down intermittently: time for a replacement, which Newegg promptly sent me. Relatively quiet (much less than my HD6950 GC). Perfect for my small MicroATX Sylverstone Lascala HTPC-Gaming casing.

To modify its speed, I also use a rheostat on one of the PCI back-port. Fan is connected to it and itself is connected to the PSU. I bought the APEVIA FC-01 multi-fan controller on Newegg but it's not available anymore (N82E16811998129).

Cons: none

Pros: got my 8400gs 1gb from 60c idle 90c load to 47c idle,64c load.
moves more air than my cpu cooler.
nicely packed
sturdy

Cons: only 42cfm vs 45 advertised.

Other Thoughts: q6600
4gb-ddr2
hd 4670 1gb (also runs cooler when using this)

kept my 2 80gb hdd's 9F cooler due to increased system airflow

2 out of 5 eggsMeh...

Pros: Fan for a PCI slot. Can be good in some cases where additional cooling is needed but not a lot of room for fans.

I thought it would be a useful addition to pull heat off the GPU's and power supply.

Cons: It was a little loud. There was a noticeable difference in noise when I took the fan out of the case. I have 10 fans altogether in my case not counting the PS and 2 video cards (4 in push/pull on the H100 radiator, 4 in push/pull on my HDD raid array, 1 on back, and 1 on bottom), so I was surprised when my PC became "quieter".

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these initially and only installed one. After about 18mo the first one started to make super loud "jet engine" noises. I swapped it with the other fan, but even working fine my wife and I were surprised what a noise difference the fan made. Maybe it's because there's nothing to dampen it like the other case fans???

Like I listed in the Pro's, I think it would be good for a case with not a lot of space for fans, but usually you want those mATX and mITX cases to be quiet... so it kind of defeats the purpose.

5 out of 5 eggsExtra cooling at a low price

Pros: This is a basic system blower, pushing air out the back of your computer case through a PCI slot. It's a mayyyyybe 2 minute install, works immediately, and can take a good 15 degrees off your system's internal temps if your airflow is less than optimal.

Cons: None, really. it's a cakewalk to install and adds a lot of outward airflow to your system without a lot of noise.
