5 out of 5 eggsBig Bang, Small Buck

Pros: A fantastic cooler for the $$$. After the $35 scythe shuriken rev.b failed to outperform my stock FX8350 cooler I took it back and gave this one a try. It out preformed both coolers. It is a great low profile cooler and keeps my FX4100 clocked at 4.4GHz nice and cool.

Cons: None what so ever!!

Other Thoughts: I was using my stock cooler from my FX 8350 on my FX 4100. The stock cooler is very loud but worked well. This cooler is quiet, cools a 4.4GHz FX4100 and is priced exceptionally well.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT!

Pros: -Not too big
-Not too small
-Cools my AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition perfectly

Cons: This was one of the more difficult CPU heatsink/fans that I have installed over the years, but once you get it figured out it's pretty simple.

Other Thoughts: I was running Watch Dogs with TheWorse mod on higher settings and my proc would get to 70-73 C and stick there. With this cooler, Watch dogs never runs it above 54 degrees C

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck cooling

Pros: I'm running an AMD A-10 5800K with turbo boost of 4.2 GHZ on an MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Micro ATX mobo, and even under heavy gaming loads, or DVD rendering/video editing loads, I've not gone over 50C, and that's with everything being housed inside a cheap APEX TX-381-C Micro ATX case. Also to note my idle temps are usually around 28-30C range, and my average temps for daily work loads(surfing the net, and watching videos, etc..), are in the 34-39C range.

Cons: The thermal paste comes in a small packet, and is not very good, so knocked 1 egg off for that, but if you have some good silver paste this cooler will work better, also it's only a 3pin fan, which is not really a con for me, just something to keep in mind if you really care about noise.

Other Thoughts: No this is not a crazy Cooler Master, or Noctua style fan, but you really can't do much better for the money, and long as you have good system fans, and filters on those fans, this should cool most AMD 4 core CPU's just fine with some good thermal paste. Also this thing fits way better in most Micro ATX case then the big tower coolers, that sometimes don't do any better of a job depending on your APU/CPU setup, and case configuration.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter value than expected !

Pros: Fits well within a 4U server case, looks like it will fit in 3U and a number of smaller cases.
Cooled better than OEM, by about 15-20c cooler. 35c right now, 100% on Prime 95 will not reach 60.
Cleared the space for my memory- unlike many large coolers and blows air on the VRMs
Not very loud at all.
Inexpensive and compact, but works well. I had no room for the 212 and larger coolers.
Nice copper base !
Far better than expected for the price !

Cons: Not for "silent" application, even though it is not loud by my standards.
Only rated for 95 Watt or lower CPUs, NOT FOR USE WITH 8-CORE FX !
Not much thermal headroom for overclocking, none really.

Other Thoughts: If you are an overclocker, look elsewhere, while some have reported good results with 125 watt applications, the stated limit is 95-100 watts. If you use this above it's design rating, it is NOT Logisys's fault, but yours and yours alone. I got 15-20c temp reduction with this and a few BIOS changes. For the price, it is far better than expected. I would encourage the company to expand this part of it's product line.

Not silent, but I like to be able to hear the fans to know they are working, but not loud by reasonable standards. If you need a compact, but effective cooler for 95-100 watts, this is a great choice. Nice copper base and you can still change the RAM if you need to. Note, the 212 and larger CPU coolers that are so popular are often poor fits for 4U and other cases, this is good for a small space !

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg is going down the drain....

Pros: None - junk

Cons: Worked for about 10 days - had to jump start it with your finger. Thank g*d I had a cpu fan warning setup.

why is gee ohh dee a improper word...

Other Thoughts: It was a gift, as well as a couple other parts and to have a fan and motherboard both fail under 30 days can't be a coincidence (2 systems). Being a xmas gift it is now past the 30 return so another blow from newegg... In the past year I've got a bad high end keyboard, had a surveillance DVR die, a bad mobo and this fan. Think it's time to move on from newegg...

5 out of 5 eggsLeucius' Update

Pros: See other thoughts, this is a follow-up review

Cons: See other thoughts, this is a follow-up review

Other Thoughts: I did some heavy gaming involving a mix of graphic intensive and cpu intensive games, and while the cpu intensive game was still running, I had Steam open, a browser with several tabs open, and my email program open. This was after several hours, and Sisoft Sandra reported my CPU to be 35 degrees Celsius.

I am completely sold now, and the only reason I'm holding onto the stock heatsink is because I like to have a backup. Also, please note in my original review I said I had a Phenom X II - it's actually a Phenom X 4 3.4 Ghz 965 Black Edition.

For the price, I don't think you're going to do better, at least for a quad core cooler. I can't speak for anyone with 6 or 8 cores, since I don't have that experience.

As a point of reference, the highest I've seen my cpu temps get with the new heatsink + Arctic Silver 5 is 36 degrees Celsius, while the stock heatsink + Arctic Silver 5 would idle at around 42-45 degrees Celsius.

As before, idling, my cpu is around 24 degrees Celsius.

I fully support this product.

2 out of 5 eggsNot that great

Pros: It was inexpensive. Relatively small footprint for smaller cases.

Cons: Doesn't cool very well compared to stock coolers and only has 3 pins so the MOBO can't control the fan speed.

Other Thoughts: Using it instead of an AMD FM2 A10 stock cooler. Don't notice much difference in cooling capability. My suggestion is, if you want something that cools better than a stock cooler - buy something else.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome! At this price, it's a steal

Pros: -Cost me $20 and some change
-125w compatible
-Quieter than the stock heatsink with a fan controller on idle, while it runs at full blast (see below)
-Just checked idle temps after downloading some programs and leaving pc on for 24 hours, a cool, crisp 24.88 degrees Celsius

Cons: -Wasn't free
-Due to holiday shipping, I received this item yesterday instead of Monday - no fault of Newegg's though
-No other cons to speak of

Other Thoughts: I haven't tested the cpu temps after extensive usage, seeing as I've had this product for only one day, but the fact that I just tested idle temps after leaving the pc on for 24 hours, and it's at 24.88 degrees celsius, tells me this product definitely works as advertised.

I'm not sure why some people are reporting the heatsink being loud, unless they're used to aftermarket heatsinks which are even quieter. This thing has been like a godsend to me, it has no fan controller but can plug directly into your 4 pin socket your old heatsink plugged into with no issues.

I didn't use the thermal grease that came with it; I used Arctic Silver 5. I also scrubbed the **** out of the top of my cpu with q-tips and rubbing alcohol - I used about 7 q-tips, and after wetting them with the 91% isopropyl alcohol, I swabbed them in a paper towel so the motherboard wouldn't get any on it from my cleaning.

I am running a Phenom X II 965 Black Edition cpu (rated at 125 w) and this puppy seems to have no issues keeping up with it. If you're used to stock heatsinks and are tired of your pc sounding like a blow dryer on high while gaming, get this bad boy.

I chose this heatsink because of the price and reviews, and boy, I am not disappointed. If something goes south, I'll write another review, but if you don't hear from me, expect that the heatsink performs eggcellently (hehe)
