Fluid / Vapor Cycling Cooling Technology - One of the most advanced and efficient cooling technology just like water cooling, which combines the principles of both thermal conductivity and phase transition to efficiently manage the transfer of heat between the heat source and the heat sink with active cooling method. At the hot interface within a heat pipe, a liquid in contact with a thermally conductive solid surface turns into a vapor by absorbing heat from the surface of heat source (CPU). The vapor condenses back into a liquid at the cold interface, releasing the latent heat. The liquid then returns to the hot interface through either capillary action or gravity action where it evaporates once more and repeats the cycle.

Universal Applications - Brackets are includes for Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Duo and AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core, AMD Athlon 64 FX.

Direct Core Contact Mechanics - By adapting the state of the art manufacture process, the 2 heat pipes have seamless direct contact with the heat source, which makes the heat absorbing quicker by the fluid to turn into vapor.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: About 15-20c lower than my default heatsink which worked fine. Its only $15 so the upgrade is well worth it if you don't need anything fancy.

Cons: Pain in my "you know what" to install. The intel pins wobble and don't line up. Struggle to find the position in which they would finally push in from. I think one didn't go in all the way.. But.. Its $15. So whatever.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't try overclocking too much on this. Its just a good replacement for a stock sink.

3 out of 5 eggsexactly what I needed

Pros: installed easily on AMD brackets. fits nice in a mid size tower even though its a big heat sink. good temps on small overclock.

Cons: nothing yet.

5 out of 5 eggsImprovement on stock without breaking the bank

Pros: My newest AMD processor came with one of the loudest fans I've ever encountered in all my years of building PCs. I mean it was BAD. I've never used an aftermarket cooler before, but clearly the time had come.

I tried the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO first but it was just a little too tall to fit in the case (mid-sized tower, pretty standard, or so I thought). Oh well, we all make mistakes. After some additional research, I arrived at this cooler and decided to give it a try.

I'm very glad I did! It's a tiny bit shorter, enough to make the difference so I can close my case. It's compatible with the AM3+ standard brackets, too, so I didn't have to pull out the motherboard. The fan, so far, is very quiet, and the cooling is a noticeable improvement over stock as well. It seems to hover around 35°C while idle, and I think it's shot up to 50°C, maybe a little more, during heavy use. That may or may not be acceptable to you, but I'm satisfied with the numbers.

Anyway, if you're looking to replace a stock cooler and don't want to get too crazy about it, this is worth a shot.

Cons: Installation could have been a little easier, but it really wasn't all that bad. Definitely better than having to pull out the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: This comes with thermal paste on it, so keep that in mind during installation (unless you plan to remove it and apply your own later). I didn't bother applying my own, and the provided stuff seems to be doing the trick.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat heat sink for the price!

Pros: Great heat sink, easy installation, very quiet fan, looks good, great price.

Cons: Very tall, will stick out and prevent the side of most mid towers from closing. I don't keep my sides on anyway, so it wasn't an issue for me.

5 out of 5 eggswhat I needed

Pros: super fast install on AM3+, fan is quiet at 100%, great cooling

Cons: *none*

Other Thoughts: I have the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3, this cooler did NOT block the ram slots, its small compact size was perfect, I had probs with two other coolers not fitting due to the Dims to close to the cpu socket

4 out of 5 eggsDecent After Market Heatsink

Pros: Good price, nice looking heatsink/fan. Lower temps slightly. Works, not DOA

Cons: Only slightly lowered temperatures, but I guess that's expected when buying a $15 aftermarket heatsink/fan

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler

Pros: Cools the cpu
Heatpipe + cross breeze
Great clip design for AMD coolers (that doesn't require fully modifying the clip design already installed on AMD motherboards).

Cons: Thermal paste shows inconsistent connectivity between the heatpipes / plate and the cpu
Tall for a 92mm (will still fit most ATX mid cases, but will likely not permit an intake fan on the side panel on top of the cpu)
AMD socket clip provides too much pressure: it will definitely stick to the cpu, but it's somewhat difficult to get off
Might have dropped temps 1-2C from my standard (not stock, ~$15 price range) shove-air-on-top-of-cpu cooler

Other Thoughts: Overall, a good buy, worth every penny: honestly, the cons are finnicky and I just wanted to try it out, but they still exist (at least for the one I got). Using on a Phenom II x6 1045t will still exceed 50C running at about 50%-70% load on all cores (ambient room temp around 26-27C). The clips should probably be a little less tight, but they do ensure this thing will stay on and stay touching the CPU.

The only thing I really dislike is the height. For the pricepoint there isn't much better, but I'd rather a little shorter heat pipes so to fit a fan to blow directly down on it (keep the heatsink a little cooler for higher end cooling). Also with the cooling design, I would expect it to knock off higher temperatures better than low-mid, so the 1-2C drop I get running 50-70% load could be a 4-6C+ drop running 100%.

5 out of 5 eggs Great cooler

Pros: Easy to install on AM3 motherboard (uses stock mounting bracket), quiet, cools my Phenom II 555 much better than stock, and does not hang over 1st ram slot. perfect for my needs.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Fit my mid tower case with plenty of clearance, but I checked the measurements before I bought it, so no surprise there.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None yet

Cons: The bracket to put it on my motherboard was not bent enough to put it on. I could probably do it myself but I dont want to ruin it. I have heard nothing but good things about this fan though. Hopefully I cn get it working.
