Clearly a unique design matched with high-quality stereo sound, the JBL SoundSticksII 2.1 speaker system is ready to meet your needs. Designed to handle your digital multimedia audio, the mini stereo jack connection lets you quickly and easily listen to a variety of devices such as digital music players, computers, stereos, and portable listening devices.
Complementing the distinctive appearance of the set are touch-sensitive controls on one of the satellites to increase or decrease the volume. A single touch mutes or un-mutes the system, and they also remember your last volume setting so you’re not surprised by loud audio when you start listening.
Each of the SoundSticksII's satellites features four 1-inch full-range drivers to handle high and mid-range sound. The set utilizes a straightforward interconnect technology, which provides an effortless setup with minimal cables necessary. Everything connects into the powerful subwoofer with a 6-inch driver that provides clean, low bass. Treble and subwoofer level controls are also located on the back of the subwoofer for fine tuning your audio output.

Great Sounding Nightlight
- Pros: Great Sound Quality
Easy to Install/Setup Looks Great -- Approved by Girlfriends.
- Cons: I didn't depict this con in the rating because it's very subjective. I live in a 4 roomed apartment with one other roommate. Therefore, my computer resides in my bedroom. So finally I get to the problem there is a blue light in the sub that you cannot turn off. It illuminates all of my room and I have a large room. It houses a king bed, desk, 46" tv(isnt wall mounted) and a couch all comfortably. So the light looks awesome and is great to show off to your friends but sucks to sleep with. I have to cover it up. So yes its subjective some people need nightlights others require darkness and some are intelligent enough to house their computers in an office.
- Other Thoughts: Sorry for the long and drawn out con/pro but I thought you might want to know.
AWESOME SOUND (Sticks)
- Pros: Brilliant, clear sound. Powerful deep Bass without objectionable distortion or overboosting. Does NOT pick up stray CB radio transmissions unlike my old speakers.
Kewl styling if it fits your decor. Neweggs got the lowest price I've seen on these babies... they usually go for much more.
- Cons: No easily accessed volume/power/Bass controls- the touch-sensitive volume control is on the RH stick.
- Other Thoughts: This would be the PERFECT 2-channel speaker system if only it had a seperate control thing that could be mounted next to your keyboard. 40w doesn't sound impressive but these sound better than a 70w system I've heard.

One of the best sets around!
- Pros: I have owned this set for close to three years and it's still going strong. I would highly recommend this set, especially if you can pick it up on sale ($100 to $120). This set is ridiculously loud for it's size, it is more than capable of filling a large sized room with music. I would highly recommend this set and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again if/when my current set dies.
- Cons: None to speak of. I didn't like the light so I put the speakers on a power strip, and they are nice and easy to turn off.
- Other Thoughts: The sub is big enough that you will want to make sure you have someplace to stash it.
Fantastic system, but unfortunately not perfect
- Pros: Stylistically there isn’t any system that comes close. The clear housing for the components is very pleasing to the eye and the blue light that the subwoofer emits looks great. For day to day use the system sounds terrific and there is no distortion; mid and high tones sound crisp and clear. The sound that comes from this system is much more robust than the specs alone would indicate.
- Cons: This speaker system is great, though a slightly over-priced for what it is. The adjustments to turn the unit’s volume up or down are cumbersome and there is no indication physically of where the volume at. I personally didn’t think this would be that big of a problem when I read about it in other reviews, but you don’t realize how important it is until it’s gone.
- Other Thoughts: A lot of reviewers here have mentioned that they don't know how to turn off the blue light/turn the speaker system off. If the knob in the back of the subwoofer is pushed in it will turn the unit off which will squelch the blue light.
Not bad at all.
- Pros: Well in all reality, I can say that it has solid mid to high ranges; the bass is good enough to shake a room and everything seems perfect.
Nearly every time I max these things out I get no problem with them, and at any party I've thrown it's been loud enough to be heard across the house and up a floor (Albiet muffled, but it's a friggen floor up!).
- Cons: I'm not sure if I should blame the speakers or my sound card, but I think I'll go with the speakers first. At the moment I'm useing an Audigy (Soundblaster if I'm correct..meant for 5.1) and when I have the system plugged up and running my itunes, I find that sommetimes my songs will get major distortion on bass bumps.
If you understand me then I can say it's quite annoying. If not then what I mean is that when you hit those lower bass jumps, like persay "Beethovens Fifth"; then it'll distort in major conditions. If you listen to Club and techno like I do this is also a problem for bass heavy music. I'm not much of a music techy, as my skills lie elsewhere in the tech industry, but I've tried everything I can in these Eq's to get rid of the distortion. This may just be a personal problem, so I'll let it lie untill I figure it out.
- Other Thoughts: Honestly, I've read alot of the reviews; I can say the light doesnt bug me. I sleep with my computer in my room, and it doesnt mess with me at all. The bass is IFFY, and depends on what you're playing sometimes. But heck, it's up to personal opinion on that one.
I can say that I've listened to other sound systems of equal or lesser price and haven't found one to replace this one, so if you want my opinion, buy this one. Good stuff...Good stuff.
