2 out of 5 eggsTerrible feedback/Static build up

Pros: Cheap. Look nice. Decent sound

Cons: Have to turn the speakers up past half to get decent response.

If you leave the speakers on, there is some type of power bleed or static build up that will cause them to make a loud buzzing/popping noise.

Other Thoughts: I've tried everything to fix the buzzing. I've secured the cords to the wall, far away from other electronics, nothing touches the carpet or metal surfaces, I even tried it on several different computers. These speakers were easily four stars without this problem.

Cons: None that I have found. They're speakers and they sound great. I'm happy.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent mid and high

Pros: clear high and mid, less bass than other low quality speakers that are only good for bass. more balanced overall.

Cons: bright blue led light, need to be taped over and it's perfect.

Other Thoughts: classy look, get these, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsThey work grate

Pros: I have had these for about a year they work awesome for the price point

Cons: Not as nice as some others on the market, like i said for the price point, these are awesome!

Other Thoughts: I live in an apartment, So A "ugh" sub-woofer. Would just not be an option in my case. At the same time these speakers pack just enough punch not to completely suck.

1 out of 5 eggssound ok, not great

Pros: The sound is good enough for music listening

Cons: They are small. cost too much. Spend a bit more money and buy better speakers. These speakers are a disgrace.
I never write any comments, because stuff is normally good from newegg. I felt compelled to write something about these deceitful speakers.

Other Thoughts: I bought these speakers because of people writing good comments.
I should know better than to listen to wanna be computer techs.
I have to give them away, there is no space for mediocre components in my room.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Rich Sound

Pros: Ported wood enclosures. Outstanding craftmanship. They sound crisp and clear with a suprising amount of volume. At full volume no distortion, dont take the loudness to mean that they will blow you away. I use them with my laptop to watch Netflix and play games, listen to music. I have a 2.1 Logitech X-230 I thought sounded decent. They sound muddy or muffeled in the mids and hi end when comparing the 2 systems. Of coarse they have sub base that thumps. If you dont have to have a sub woofer pounding to enjoy your sonic entertainment. I dont think you can go wrong. There is a input for mp3 player and also headphones.

Cons: The blue power on indicator, and no grill gaurds over the drivers.

Other Thoughts: I put a piece of black tape 2 layers thick of the power led.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Theyre not great. Let me put that out there first. But their value is pretty much unbeatable. They sound good. Theyre dirt cheap. They look good. If youre an audiophile and you got the money get better speakers. If youre an audiophile and dont have a lot of money get these.

Cons: Highs and lows dont sound great. Its just ok.

Other Thoughts: I got these because I need a break from my headphones every now and then. I spent 250 on my headphones and 250 on my soundcard and sometimes I just dont feel like wearing them. Thats where these come in. Also if I have a movie on my PC for company or something. Any "audiophile" wouldnt be caught dead with speakers period. Headphones will give you the best sound you can get. You have to pay a fortune to get great sound with speakers. So instead of doing that get yourself some good headphones for that gaming and music you gotta have perfect and speakers like these for everything else.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat speakers, keep cell phone away

Pros: Excellent quality, no separate massive sub woofer, fairly large but not absurd compared to same brand Genius SP-HF1800A 50 W, good base and sound, economic, headphone jack (speaker volume dial will control headphone volume when in), line in jack for iPod or things, good volume control, very loud when needed (never take it above 1/4th normally) no distortion, deep and rich sound, electrical plug is two pronged and is NOT a big box that won't fit on a surge protector, doesn't take up a USB port because it is AC.

Cons: AC speakers (plug into electrical outlet) MIGHT be a con to some, no protection or mesh covering dust cover or tweeter, tweeter dome is easily bendable plastic, easily damaged and impossible to fix, doesn't effect sound quality when damaged lightly. Buzzes annoyingly when my Droid phone is within a foot, I thought it was broken but it was just the phone, so keep your phone away. Power light is bright then died three days in. Piano black face is fingerprint magnet but is easily cleaned. Slight distortion and static with headphone, barley noticeable but if you have an accessible direct audio jack on your tower, you might want to use that.

Other Thoughts: I LOVE THESE. An alternative to the HUGE Genius SP-HF1800A speakers. I wanted good sound quality without an annoying sub woofer I couldn't fit, or a box to plug into the wall. This cost less than half the price. It worked fine, sound quality is fantastic, not an audiophile but the quality is really great, and the wood looked great on my desk. The blue power light lit up my room so brightly I had to cover it when sleeping, but three days after I got it the light died (which was odd), soon after it buzzed and it turned out to be JUST my phone causing it, not a defect. I initially tried to return it and they would have charged me 15 dollars. I DID NOT need to return it, IT WORKS WONDERFULLY, but that left a bad taste in my mouth, they never got back to my email asking why I had to pay 15. Also be careful with the front of it, my cat knocked it over and dented in my right tweeter permanently, but it sounds fantastic nonetheless. I HIGHLY recommend these READ THE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS FIRST!

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely Pleased !!

Pros: Sound quality is more than adequate. Wood grain veneer looks very nice. Cables seem long enough for my PC to be on either left or right side of the monitor, with the speakers at each side of the monitor. Volume/Loudness knob is also on/off switch. Headphone jack works with volume knob, too - A nice touch I did not expect.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend these to a friend and I plan to buy a second set of them for one of my other computers. I am very pleased with these speakers. They may not please an audiophile, but they please me.
