1 out of 5 eggsBase did not work

Pros: Looks pretty.

Cons: Base does not work. Waited to try them out after 30 days like a dummy and figured out I'm stuck with a rotten base box.

Other Thoughts: Inanimate objects should do what they are told.

4 out of 5 eggsWow...

Pros: Quick plug and play, no installation disc necessary, for how light the sub woofer felt it was surprising how hard it hit with the bass turned up quite a bit, a lot louder than expected.

Cons: I noticed a faint and small amount of static at rest right when I turned them on. Sound is clear but not as full as I was hoping for. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking in this price range. I was very surprised with these speakers even with the very faint amount of static. It's not even enough to distort sound or hear it in the background of your music or video games. I've only had it one day, but put it through the music test and boy did it pass. The sub hits hard, the satellites blare, and the sound is super clear. The one thing I found was that the satellites' mids and highs don't have a very full sound when turned up. All-in-all a great product. Also, I'm sure it will grow on me the more I listen to it.

1 out of 5 eggsBlown Speaker

Pros: The speakers look pretty cool, it set up easily, and it sounded great the first use.

Cons: Second use of the product, with volume tuned up about 1/3 of the way the right speaker blew out. It was roughly standard TV volume at the time which is pretty disappointing.

Other Thoughts: More disappointingly, despite the fact that the product was clearly defective, I would have to pay to ship it back on return or for replacement. Looks like I'll probably just buy another speaker (of a different brand) and plug it into the mixer.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Great!

Pros: Loud! Nice Bass! Dare you to find better for $68.99! I have had several sets of computer speakers this set beats out a set that almost cost me $200

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Maybe a wider base for control box or addition of Bluetooth would be nice.

1 out of 5 eggsPaying for looks

Pros: Looks great! bought because they matched my office theme

Cons: Average to low quality speakers and the control box is garbage. The speakers hiss out of control when you aren't playing anything through them and the volume they can reach is maybe 1/4 of the $19.99 speakers they were replacing. Paying for $10 speakers and a $50 paint job! 1 EGG

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap and looks nice, speakers are pretty good.

Cons: EXTREMELY annoying squeal/high pitch buzz from the controller. After checking with some audiophile friends, a few sites, and moving everything around. It seems the control box has a bad transistor/something wrong with the PSU. As the sound emits directly from the area where the power comes in.

Other Thoughts: Good speakers and base for the price; the squeal is horrendous though. It stops when I plug in my headphones but resumes as soon as they're unplugged. It isn't electromagnetic interference as all the speakers I've had are unshielded and the box squeals no matter what I've tried(different rooms, outlets, speakers in or out)

2 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY THESE SPEAKERS

Pros: The most important thing you want from speakers is good sound, and these speakers mostly deliver. The bass is rich, and I was even able to distinguish between mid-range bitrate audio vs. lossless (something I was previously not able to do with my old speakers very well). But to be honest, I bought these speakers because A) they were in my budget, and B) the color scheme matches my PC Case, a Rosewill Redbone U3

Cons: The control box is the biggest problem. It has a nice bass knob in addition to the power/volume knob, but no treble knob. This wouldn't be a problem if the treble was any good. When playing audio from sources such as streaming video that doesn't have any equalizer options, the treble sounds tinny and cheap. But the problems don't end there.

The control box is super lightweight, and when I reach to adjust the volume, it will slide very easily. I've laid it horizontally, but it has still slid right off my desk a few times accidentally,

By far the most glaring problem is the headphone jack. The system directs the bulk of the electricity it draws to the blue power light (it is BLINDING), and not to the headphones. The volume needs to be turned all the way up to 100% in order to faintly hear anything through my Sony MDR7502 headphones, and you can imagine what happens when I unplug them (hint: the speakers blare at all 38W of volume). Not cool.

Overall just poorly designed. Hopefully they go back to the drawing board.

Other Thoughts: I'd return it if I could, but it's out of the packaging.
