4 out of 5 eggsGood sound

Pros: I bought these to replace my 12 year old 2.1 creative speaker set that finally blew out. The sound is pretty good for the price. The wood is just sexy. It's missing some bass, but man, guitar riffs sound amazing through these things.

Cons: no real cons, just things you can nit pick at, but i don't think those really count as cons.

Other Thoughts: if you aren't an audiophile and just need speakers, these will do fine. The "tone" knob on mine don't seem to do anything. That doesn't really matter to me though since everything is configured through my sound card. Also, put a piece of electric tape over the LED or you will go blind in one eye.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Beautiful finish

Cons: Speakers "blew" 3rd day at less than medium volume, I know they are cheap but you would expect them to last. They were powered by my laptop so it is not an overpower issue. Crackling now, now mid, horrible treble. Bad speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsDang!

Pros: Love the wood finishing it has!
Bass sounds really good which I got them for, but it's not earth shaking like I wanted.
These are worth your money.

Cons: Personally I would of like it to be USB but that's MY OPINION.
When I try to plug in my 3.5mm audio for my headset into the speakers it cancels it out though :/
Bass works well just not earth shaking bass :C

Other Thoughts: Overall a good set speakers!

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Price, size, appearance.

Cons: These speakers have a slight (very high pitched) ringing when they are on. It's very hard to notice when they're in use (I mostly use them for video games/movies on my computer), but it can drive me crazy if they're just on.

Other Thoughts: Would have rated 3.5 stars if that was an option. I am pleased with my purchase for the price though.

1 out of 5 eggsGREAT! For an hour.

Pros: These speakers sounded great. They provided a decent low end with a crisp treble and high end, and looked beautiful.

Cons: They sounded great while they lasted, but these babies lasted me an astounding.... 1 hour. I kid you not, 1 hour into my ownership of these, both top speakers blew out. Keep in mind, I did not turn the volume beyond 50%, drop them, or poke at the cones. I plugged 'em in, let 'em play, and felt my stomach drop as the buzzing and crackling we all dread replaced virtually all bass these speakers pumped out.

It started off as barely noticeable, but after about half an hour after the initial signs, the secondary speaker was the first to go. Any pesky sustained notes with those annoying harmonies and pitches are now replaced by a simply joyous sound that can only be described as bees trapped in a kazoo.

In all seriousness, I'm very disappointed with them, and hope that we can chalk this all up to a factory defect. Until then I'm very very unimpressed and quite frankly frustrated with this product.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst Impressions

Pros: Cost effective.
Nice construction.
Look beautiful.
Volume!

Keep in mind that this is from a couple days of ownership.

Despite having a relatively low bass power on paper, these speakers get the job done quite well. Lower end is decent without being over or under powered, and mid to upper ends come through clean and crisp.

Speakers come with a built in tone knob to adjust bass and treble, so adjustment is as easy as twisting a knob.

These speakers are beaauutiful. The wooden side panels, and gold highlights on the speakers themselves give an excellent visual style.

Construction is very solid! They're rather heavy for such small speakers, and the materials are solid and very visually appealing. The LED light shines bright, and the knobs give a nice amount resistance. Rear and front inputs allow easy switching between input devices.

These little speakers give a lot of volume for their size. At even half volume, they give a full sound.

When turned on, but input is muted, they are very quiet. Buzzing is no problem.

Not really related to the speakers themselves, but shipping was super fast! I ordered them with 3 day shipping, and the arrived on day 2!

All in all, first impressions are very nice for these speakers!

Cons: Volume. I know I put this as a pro, but that was considering the size. If you're looking for a full sound system with a bumping bass, go ahead and skip right over these. They're great for what they're made for, good sound for a good price.

LED. While I quite like the bright little light that comes on these speakers, others might find it a bit obnoxious.

Treble. These speakers give a lot of high end. If you're not a fan of treble dominant speakers, you may want to go with the other version of these by Genius which are more bass intensive.

2 out of 5 eggsnot what I hoped for

Pros: look nice, solid mdf construction

Cons: scratchy sounding, the volume control at 1/10 is maxed you can't turn them up any more or it gets distorted, certian games sound good others sound horrible and distorted, and the blue led light is very bright

Other Thoughts: my old 2.1 speakers had obnoxiously loud bass that would drown out anything I was doing. So I bought these because of the very positive reviews, maybe I got a lemon but I don't even care to rma them and get another junk pair. I'm very disappointed and I'm back to using my old speakers. the Genius are in the dumpster

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent speakers

Pros: These speakers look great, have real wood, and sound much better than I expected. So much so that I wanted to order a 3rd set, but they are out of stock. For the price these are excellent sounding speakers.

Cons: The tone control does not have much range, you can tell a slight difference between the extreme left and extreme right of the knob, but barely. However in my opinion it is a minor con as the sound from these beauties more than makes up for it.

Other Thoughts: I will be waiting for them to restock so I can get another pair.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Speakers

Pros: Beautiful construction
Vivid sound
Solid connections
Long enough cords to reach where I want

These speakers are amazing looking. They really accentuate the look of my desk being next to my monitor and the sound is crisp and vivid. The knobs for volume and tone are solid with no wobbling and the click into place with a satisfying click.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: These speakers are worth every cent if you want something that looks and sounds amazing
