4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sounds very nice, big upgrade from previous speakers.

Cons: Supplied 3.5mm connector only carried sound to one speaker. Replaced with an extra and everything worked fine. ~ only reason for knocking an egg off.

5 out of 5 eggsGot on sale, worth every $1.

Pros: Got them on sale for $100. They are worth every penny. Awesome sound for 2 speaker configuration. Ordered them on Friday and got them on Monday (Totally unexpected, I never had this quick of a turnaround in my 8+ years of shopping via Newegg).

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Bass is pretty decent as it is, but if I can think of anything that would make this setup even better would be the dedicated subwoofer... And maybe a remote... :)
Other than that, pretty sweet!

5 out of 5 eggsNearly Perfect

Pros: Replaced an aging Logitech 2.1 system with these are I do not miss the Sub what-so-ever.

-Fisrt, These look VERY nice in person.

-They are Tall, didn't look at the demensions before I bought them, but the Mid Tweet Mid set up in combo with the height envelope you in the sound in contrast to short speakers that don't give you a good depth of sound.

-As Stated above, the depth of sound is great. I played a few min of Bioshock Infinite on these, and there is a clear differance in these v/s a 50-60$ 2.1 system.

-Pair up with a decent sound card and you will finnally understand why you got the card in the first place...

Cons: - I'd like to have seen"sub" on the top of these speakers on the face (if you were to add 4 inched to the already tall speakers...) The Bass from the ports on the top really give some kick if you aim it at you. Since they are pointed upward, though, you only hear 50% of what its pushing out. I'm not a big Bass person myself, but if those sup ports were pointed at the user, it would dramatically increase the versitility of these speakers.

But I'm no engeneer and I'm sure the are pointed upward for a reason.

Other Thoughts: I'm not an Audiophile by a long shot, but I say that these speakers are worth the 130$ I paid!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Deal!

Pros: Surprisingly good speaker system! I own a vintage repair speaker business, I know speaker systems, new and old. These dual 3" Kevlar drivers I would never had thought would have that much bass report- but these do. Be it not thundering but actually very listenable. It/ they are well balanced and had decent power built into them. For the price I was really impressed- my Alesis nearfields that these are replacing do not sound as good! These look nice, backlit volume knob is a +, fits well in my main TV area as extensions for my weak internal TV speakers.

Cons: Should have put L & R RCA input jacks on the back instead of the 1/8" stereo mini plug- common for a few cents more! This connector is flaky if pushed around, makes bad connection.

Other Thoughts: For the money this is a real delight to use- replaces the typically weak TV speakers quite well. A good design with decent drivers and an amp to push them.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasently Surprized

Pros: Build quality is better than average, these are very nice looking elegant 2.0 speakers.
Easy setup, controls, and ...well... sound.

Cons: NO SUB! (read comments below)
Sharp highs out the box. (read below)

Other Thoughts: I won't lie, price/looks of these speakers got me. But these are actually really nice little speakers. I have a audiophile for a father and he passed me the bug. You haven't heard music until you have heard it through $200k+ speakers... Unbelievable. But us mortals should aim for the best sound for the space and get as much bang for the buck as possible. For computer speakers, think of these as a miniature set of floor standing towers. Set them equal distances from your ears and be prepared to experience a very nice sound stage.

No sub - If you are looking for a big bass, get a nice 2.1 set. The lack of a sub will not be enough for being a house party DJ with itunes. With that said, 2.0 for computer speakers is sufficient and best of all saves on wire clutter and space in a already cramped space. :)

Sharp highs - These speakers have a "break-in period". I hear as long as 100 hours, but I can say that within minutes the highs naturally started to smooth out a bit. Also, the treble/bass controls can easily be used to compensate for this. Each space is different and require unique tuning. My room has a very bright/reflective personality, this may have some to do with the sharpness in the sound.

Using MJ - Bad to break them in. There are plenty of points that hit the highs/bass that will help in tuning. Try to listen through for specific points in your track list that hit those real sharp highs or dull lows and replay through them with different settings till your happy. Be careful with that bass switch though, these are musical speakers. :)

Bottom line: Great set of DESKTOP speakers. More than enough quality for 99% of users. The bass is plenty for anyone not looking for a rumble. Oh yeah, "Once you know, you Newegg." Thanks again for yet another wonderful shopping experience Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Speakers

Pros: Look Nice
Have good weight to each speaker
Crisp sound
If you look in the flared ports with a flash light you can see the bottom driver and it is big! much bigger than i would have suspected..
Also, these have a three way cross over for each speaker,
Low end to low mid - top speaker
low mid to high mid - bottom speaker
and highs - the tweeter
with a little tuning these sound pretty good, BREAK THESE IN BEFORE REVIEWING! at first they didnt sound near what i had hoped for, but i just let them play for a while and they came good!
the amount of bass the woofer (top speaker) can put out is pretty amazing, especially when you factor in the size...

Cons: you cant get super loud with these, i find that past half the sound just really starts to get distorted in odd ways

Other Thoughts: after these puppies break they sound good, but give them time. these do sound better than my stereo setup when playing quiet to mid volume level, my stereo how ever consists of:
Pair of Realistic Minimus 7's - (unfortunately they are C's. end of the 7's, also worst of the 7's)
Pair of Pioneer SHF31LR
and to top it off haha a CA sub from CA5001RB speaker set. its only a 30watt sub :P (putting socks in the echo ports really helps it!)
All being driven by a Yamaha 6.1 channel HTR 5940
But any way this cheap setup knocks the socks off these Creative speakers as soon you want to get loud, dont bother getting these creatives for loudness, they are great for quiet to mid level but loud, no, get a cheap setup like mine for loudness.

5 out of 5 eggsTo: Nice sound but...

Pros: They still sound great

Cons: People that give Bad reviews because they have a misunderstanding of the product they purchased.

Other Thoughts: The input on the front is an aux input only, that is for audio play back. It works just like the audio input jack on the back of the unit. there is no mic input on these at all. If you need mic input you will have to connect directly to your computer.
