Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II 32 watts RMS 2.0 Speakers

Pros: Amazing depth of sound. Quality is beyond anything I have owned in the past for the same cost ($149). Tested against many 2.1 and 5.1 systems on the market. Fills my master bedroom with clear sound when cranked. Aestetically pleasing (really good looking, quality speakers)

Cons: Sleep mode is useless.

Other Thoughts: I don't consider myself an audiophile, but usually people that do, are not, they are just people that have a lot of opinions and call themselves audiophiles so people will listen. I do know good sound, and I spend the time to truely test equipment using a side by side comparison method. I personally think that a lot of people that feel they need a subwoofer are normally experiencing a placebo effect, because many people think there is no way to get rich bass from a 2.0 system. When you pair this set of 2.0 speakers with a decent soundcard, the clarity you can get is unparalleled for the price. If you need your bass to rattle the walls, and or massage your feet, then you should look at a system with a self powerwed sub, but for me, when I paired this with an Asus Xonar DX (inexpensive sound card) I get some amazing sound. Games are so clear, and clean and I love watching movies in the room again and music WOW. Running Pandora at 192Hz and using the Xonar EQ produces awesome sound you usually can't get out of a 2.0 setup. Overall, I love these things.

Pros: Rich, detailed sound, footprint is quite small, separate bass and treble controls, aux input

Cons: Won't match a 2.1 system for bass you can feel, sleep function is slightly annoying

Other Thoughts: I've really got very little that isn't positive to say about these speakers. The sound is rich and crisply detailed. Yes, you won't get the thumping bass of a dedicated subwoofer, but most 2.1 systems just go for raw bass with little attention to quality. With these speakers you don't feel it, but you can hear every detail that you'd otherwise miss with a cheap 2.1 system. The emphasis on sound quality over raw power is really growing on me.

If I had one gripe, it's the sleep mode the speakers will go into after about 5-10 minutes without any sound input. It takes the amp a few seconds to turn back on when a sound plays again. There's no way I can find to disable this.

Pros: They look nice and they produce sound.

Cons: Sound quality is horrible. I have headphones that sound better.

Pros: Good looking.

Cons: Horrible bass quality, sounds like it is going to crack !

Other Thoughts: Stay away from buying this !

Pros: Sounds very nice, big upgrade from previous speakers.

Cons: Supplied 3.5mm connector only carried sound to one speaker. Replaced with an extra and everything worked fine. ~ only reason for knocking an egg off.

Pros: Got them on sale for $100. They are worth every penny. Awesome sound for 2 speaker configuration. Ordered them on Friday and got them on Monday (Totally unexpected, I never had this quick of a turnaround in my 8+ years of shopping via Newegg).

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Bass is pretty decent as it is, but if I can think of anything that would make this setup even better would be the dedicated subwoofer... And maybe a remote... :)
Other than that, pretty sweet!

Pros: High quality sound.

Cons: Bulky size can take up a lot of room on your desk
Cords are a little shorter than is really preferable

Pros: Replaced an aging Logitech 2.1 system with these are I do not miss the Sub what-so-ever.

-Fisrt, These look VERY nice in person.

-They are Tall, didn't look at the demensions before I bought them, but the Mid Tweet Mid set up in combo with the height envelope you in the sound in contrast to short speakers that don't give you a good depth of sound.

-As Stated above, the depth of sound is great. I played a few min of Bioshock Infinite on these, and there is a clear differance in these v/s a 50-60$ 2.1 system.

-Pair up with a decent sound card and you will finnally understand why you got the card in the first place...

Cons: - I'd like to have seen"sub" on the top of these speakers on the face (if you were to add 4 inched to the already tall speakers...) The Bass from the ports on the top really give some kick if you aim it at you. Since they are pointed upward, though, you only hear 50% of what its pushing out. I'm not a big Bass person myself, but if those sup ports were pointed at the user, it would dramatically increase the versitility of these speakers.

But I'm no engeneer and I'm sure the are pointed upward for a reason.

Other Thoughts: I'm not an Audiophile by a long shot, but I say that these speakers are worth the 130$ I paid!

Pros: Surprisingly good speaker system! I own a vintage repair speaker business, I know speaker systems, new and old. These dual 3" Kevlar drivers I would never had thought would have that much bass report- but these do. Be it not thundering but actually very listenable. It/ they are well balanced and had decent power built into them. For the price I was really impressed- my Alesis nearfields that these are replacing do not sound as good! These look nice, backlit volume knob is a +, fits well in my main TV area as extensions for my weak internal TV speakers.

Cons: Should have put L & R RCA input jacks on the back instead of the 1/8" stereo mini plug- common for a few cents more! This connector is flaky if pushed around, makes bad connection.

Other Thoughts: For the money this is a real delight to use- replaces the typically weak TV speakers quite well. A good design with decent drivers and an amp to push them.
