5 out of 5 eggsWow!

Pros: Wow! Great, great sound quality. When I opened the box these things were HEAVY! That's a great sign. Then I plugged them in and turned them on. They are the best speakers ever but they are really, really good - especially for the price. These are high quality speakers, plain and simple.

Cons: None. Absolutely none. For $25 bucks these speakers are amazing. Not the highest end but actually very good. These speakers are kind of big though, and heavy. That might be a con for some.

Other Thoughts: I had my doubts, reading other reviews. I think someone needs to write a real, true review of these. They DO have bass. Not a lot, but definitely a decent amount, definitely. You can control the bass too. The knobs feel high quality. There is a headphone out on the speakers too. I am impressed, very impressed. Buy these speakers. They deserve 4 eggs for quality and 5 for price. You will not regret this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW. great sound.

Pros: What a great package. who knew you could get this much sound for just a few bucks. I like that tone and volume are on the front, as well as the headphone port, makes it easy to use.

Cons: I don't have any cons. I have read the other reviews, I have no idea what is going through peoples minds. for the price these speakers are remarkable.

Other Thoughts: bottom line, great pair of inexpensive speakers. I would purchase another set of these if I needed them. keeping in mind i do not need concert sound at my computer, and I do not play games that need surround sound.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice speaker

Pros: These are nice speakers to use.

Cons: nothing negative to say here

Other Thoughts: Yes I would buy again. These are nice speakers, good sound, and are light years better than the stuff that ships with mfr's.

2 out of 5 eggsHahahahaha [wipes tears] laughable audio

Pros: Might make an okay laptop speaker set. These attempt to pump bass through a little tiny speaker. It sounds hilarious. It's pretty comical to listen to the attempt at audio from these.

Cons: Great for comedy. Otherwise just okay for audio without low frequencies (e.g. watching some streaming television/YouTube videos), not so great for audio reproduction (e.g. music and games). There's significant distortion regardless of the tone and volume settings and that's due to the low frequency response compared to having a dedicated subwoofer to handle the lows. I know how to correctly set my computer and speaker systems to avoid distortion, but these speakers are ill-conceived.

Other Thoughts: Once you've experienced 2.1 or 5.1 (aka anything with a subwoofer) you won't ever use anything else. Bought these as a stopgap measure between not having any audio at all and a decent speaker set. I'll keep them in case one of my primary speaker systems ever fail but they won't see much use beyond that. RMS wattage, frequency response, and quality construction all matter when reproducing audio.

I own the X140 (awful), the Logitech Z5500 (awesome but difficult to set up), and the Logitech Z623 (very good and easy to set up but has rather short cables). I seriously recommend putting up with whatever you've got at the moment and saving your money for a legitimate 2.1 system (that's 2 speakers and 1 subwoofer for those not in the know).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Audio

Pros: Cheap, works great, cheap

Cons: There is a small pop when turning the speakers on, but its not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: For 30 bucks, I would say these are hard to beat.. Unless you're watching Movies on your pc and want serious audio, obviously these arent for you, but for the usual music, sound effects, game audio, etc. I think these are awesome especially when you consider the price. Must buy!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Audio

Pros: Really inexpensive for what you're getting. I've had mine for almost 2 years and although I have a studio setup elsewhere for serious audio work, when I come back to these for casual computing I'm not left wanting. They use a passive radiator below a single driver in each speaker, which is pretty good design for this price bracket. It's obviously letting them lower the pricepoint but still provide good low-end performance (I.E. bass response). My volume and tone controls still work fine after all this time, with some other cheap speakers, those will be some of the first things to become crackly or broken, but these are still smooth and quiet when changing volume or tone. I've even taken them with me on trips and used them with a laptop, and they've stood up to being jostled around in luggage and knocked around by other components, cables, and stuff without looking beat-up. In fact, the look of these speakers is pretty nice without being overly monolithic. It's also great that they're angled slightly up, which means that if they're on an average computer desk they'll be pointing right at your ears, as opposed to straight-out like some other designs. If you're using them for a small space they'll provide great sound without a large desk footprint or a big dent in your wallet, and they'll probably last a good long while, as mine have.

Cons: When powering on the speakers using the on/off/volume pot, there is usually a medium volume click or thump as voltage hits the drivers. It's not super loud, but I leave these speakers adjusted to the middle of the volume knob's range (12 o'clock) and turn my volume down elsewhere when I'm not using them. It's jarring enough to wake up light sleepers, but easily avoidable by just leaving them on, or looking at more expensive speakers that have power-on protective circuitry.
If you put a cellphone right next to them, they'll emit some interference whenever your phone is sending or receiving data. This is just because the air is really saturated with that signal, and these inexpensive speakers aren't going to have any sort of EM shielding to mitigate it.

Other Thoughts: Great, cheap little speakers for the average computer user, or even someone wanting a little bit more without having to pay over a hundred bucks.
