Whether you're into games or movies, you have to have great sound to totally immerse yourself into the experience and that's what you get from Logitech's X-540 speaker system. The FDD2™ (Frequency Directed Dual Driver) technology produces a uniform sound field anywhere in the room. A ported, down-firing sub-woofer moves massive amounts of air for a powerful bass response.
Color coded jacks make setup quick and easy, allowing you to spend time on what's really important: eliminating the bad guy and hearing him scream. The satellite speaker stands rotate to become wall mount brackets and the center speaker has a clip that allows it to mount to most LCD flat panel monitors.
A wired remote control pad has a volume knob, headphone jack, bass control and a button for "Matrix Mode". Matrix mode turns regular stereo signals into a 5.1 audio stream.

Pros: Sound quality is excellent. Lots of power at reasonable volumes. Center speaker "clips" on to your monitor - it's made for an LCD, but unscrewing the base and putting it on backwards lets me balance it on my CRT. Remote, while wired, has a decently long cord (5') with all the right things on it - power, volume, bass, auto-bypass headphone jack, and matrix mode. Matrix mode is a nice one-touch solution for listening to music through all channels (Remember to turn it off when gaming with EAX)
Cons: This set definitely has a "sweet spot" - these are NOT meant to be maxed out and will distort at higher volumes. Leave the bass and volume knobs somewhere in the middle, and you'll get great sound. If you absolutely have to have your already-half-deaf ears blown out, buy a higher wattage. Still, this set is sufficient to cheese off your neighbors, if you live in an apartment.
Other Thoughts: Don't listen to the review that says they're small and cheap - they're sturdy and just the right size. As always, shipped so fast my head spun (though, I gotta stop ordering on weekends.. why's my paycheck gotta come on Fridays?)

Pros: I used to have the speakers that came with my hp computer, and they where decent, i mean hey i got sound. But i just installed these and have been playing games and music with it, and the difference is night and day! Anyone with sub par or even ok speakers, it would be worth it to buy these. Plus the price is awsome! xxx bucks at Bxxt Bxy, xx here!
Cons: I had a hard time fitting the outter two on my desk and i did not want to mount them so they are on the ground but im still getting great 5.1 surround
Other Thoughts: Unless you have a great set of speakers, pick these up!

Pros: Very easy installation out of the box. Each speaker has a labled port on the back of the subwoofer...couldnt get any more barney style than that. In an apartment you will never be able to reach full volume because they really do get loud. I am not saying that they will replace the home entertainment center, but I am saying that you will never have to worry about getting all the deffinition you want from games and streaming video like from netflix!
Cons: Sub reached a max output before the volume was at max. For a small system turned about 3/4 the way up (where the sub tends to max out) a computer room like mine its enough to make me worry about getting a stomp on the floor above asking me to turn down the sound.
Other Thoughts: I got these speakers from a certain VERY big BLUE with a WHITE star company for 82.00 after tax (74.99 before tax) and walked out the same day with them....Not to bash newegg cause the computer I just built to play these speakers on EVERY part came to me from newegg cause their prices are just amazing. Shipping is nuts fast. If you going to buy them here you will not be disapointed in your buy or the transaction speed.

Pros: These speakers sound great, good highs, lows, midrange.
Cons: A little too light, and feel a bit flimsy.
Other Thoughts: Wires for surround are shorter than I'd like.

Pros: Amazing quality for the price, highly capable, (depending on your sound card), LOUD! YES ENOUGH TO BOTHER THE NEIGHBORS. Great bass / surround sound experience.
Cons: None that bothers, longer cables may have been more helpful but they reach far enough.
Other Thoughts: HIGH QUALITY SOUND SYSTEM FOR THIS PRICE IS HARD TO BEAT.
