5 out of 5 eggsSplendid speakers

Pros: Great sound that doesnt muddle when playing on higher volumes. Bass is great and sounds powerful, i love THX and what theyve done with it here. Movies sound authentic like im there or in a theatre. attractive design

Cons: Wish it came with a separate accessory for buttons and dials like we see other speaker makers have instead of the dials and buttons on the speaker itself. Just my personal opinion.

Pros: Nice little system here. Purchased one for wife and one for myself. My kids are always complaining about how loud I use them. Love watching movies and gaming with them. Bass is incredible.

Cons: None that I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speakers

Pros: Great Sound, I never need to have the volume up more than 25-50% of total volume

Cons: not being able to set speakers on their side, they are some what tall and if you do not have the desk space for them you will have some speakers peaking into your screen.

Other Thoughts: The audio jack where the second speaker plugs into seems quite weak. for example mine broke something on the inside loose and now left speaker = bust. going to start surgery and see if i can't just solder it back together

5 out of 5 eggsFTFW!

Pros: These are insane I heard them in a store and was like h.s. batman. Sound great for dubstep.

Cons: Not any really, but I am scared of turning to high. These are tiny speakers but the box is heavy

Other Thoughts: I have Polk audio monitors and Yamaha 7.1 in my living room so I am use to loud. I was skeptical about these but wow they jam. Perfect for my small mancave.

4 out of 5 eggsLogitech Z623 2.1 Speaker System

Pros: First of all, I purchased the Z623 on sale for $120 flat with no additional shipping charges, so I was quite pleased at the deal here as compared to buying directly from Logitech for $149.99. Second, this 2.1 speaker system is THX certified. There are honestly not that many THX certified systems on the market these days. Third, the 7inch subwoofer receives 130 watts RMS. This is a good thing. At half volume I am scared of getting a lease violation, even with the bass set to the neutral position. By no means however, will this subwoofer outperform floor standing speakers with 10, 12, or 15 inch subs, but it does shake the room very well for its size. Fourth, the Left and Right speakers have crystal clear audio from low through full volume, and once again even at only half volume do more than fill my bedroom with sound. Fifth, the Z623 seems to like dubstep...I have tried to convince these speakers that dubstep is for youngins but they won't listen to me...don't know how many more dishes will fall from my cabinet before I have to punish my Z623. Lastly, I found the ability to connect these speakers to either the PC via analogue cable or the HDMI TV via RCA cables a very flexible option.

Cons: There are not many notable cons, but I would definitely have to begin with the lack of an optical input. Of course, honestly, I have normally only seen optical inputs on tuner/amplifer units for home stereos these days. It would have been nice though...really nice. THX is always better in digital than analogue, or at least that is what the voice in my head tells me ;o)

Other Thoughts: The controls on the Right speaker are not as annoying as some have claimed. They work fine and I am glad that I don't have to crawl under my desk and adjust subwoofer mounted controls...thank goodness such knobs are not on this unit. The right speaker also has a music device port and a head phone port to prevent such crawling yet again. If you don't have a high quality sound card you might disagree with the audio controls in general which is a point of concern, since the right speaker only has two controls besides the power button: one for volume, and one for bass level. This isn't quite the same as having a 10 bar equalizer and THX True Studio Pro like with the Creative Labs Recon3D sound card I have. Hint: buy a nice sound card, it helps get all the performance out of these speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy worth $120

Pros: Bass blows my windows out! Holyhell Skrillex rocks my house! Deep Dubstep bass! Make minor adjustments with Virtual DJ. Love the control and that I can plug in my iPhone directly into the right speaker if i'm not mixing it up.

Cons: Haven't had for too long so as long as I don't blow them out any time soon or nothing randomly happens to them due to poor manufacturing, no complaints.

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointing sound quality

Pros: Great form factor. Perfect size with easy-to-access controls, inputs, and outputs. Exactly what I was looking for in terms of features. The system can put out a lot of sound for its size and price.

Cons: Sound quality suffers when listening to music. In particular, mid-range frequencies are weak. It seems like the crossover frequency for the sub-woofer is too low, with no way to set it--the only sound it produces is deep rumbles and blatty bass kicks (which, I guess, is OK if you wear a flat-brim hat and only listen to NOW That's What I Call Club Hits 2). The satellites sound top-heavy, and they definitely struggle to reproduce the lower frequencies that they are being inappropriately fed. The whole system together sounds like powerful, above-average laptop speakers, if you could somehow tack on a boomy sub that is capable of rattling the license plate on your car that is parked outside. Bros should rejoice, but trained ears will find this system lacking.

Other Thoughts: The system isn't bad for the price. These may be the right fit for you. I was hoping to use these to replace a set of other Logitech speakers that finally died after many years of great sound, but I just couldn't justify keeping speakers that would make me regret my purchase every time I listened to them.

Additionally, my set had a defect with the headphone output jack. I had to apply constant upward pressure on the plug to maintain a connection. This, in conjunction with the disappointing sound quality prompted me to return them for a refund.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid audio

Pros: Outstanding audio
Strong, clear bass

Cons: A little pricey
Irregular speaker shape

Other Thoughts: These are a great set of speakers. I'd recommend the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 more, but these aren't a bad choice.
