3 out of 5 eggsGood, HOWEVER

Pros: It's does what I need, good volume. Sounds decent over all.

Cons: The subwoofer rattled/crackled from the get go after a few mins of being on. I did not want to return the system. So I just bought a replacement sub and changed it out. So all is fine now.

Other Thoughts: If I were to do it again, I might of went with something else. I would of gave it a 4 eggs if it wasn't for the sub.

1 out of 5 eggsNot even 10 minutes, defective

Pros: Appearance, heavy / solid

Cons: I should have paid more attention to Logitech's own web board and the problems faced with the Z906. Barely 10 minutes into their use I had the "popping sound" bug noted on the boards. Reset the speakers per their FAQ's but that didn't appear to work.

Then I smelled burning. Something like burning plastic, circuit board or something.

For $400+ I expected flawless out of the box and was greatly disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Thank you Newegg for a smooth RMA process and covering the cost of the return.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat speakers for any device!

Pros: I have owned these speakers for 4 years now and they work just as perfect as they did on day 1. They have so many options for sound and pretty much any connection you would need. I have mine connected optically to the cable box and my PS4. Then my PC is connected with the analog cables.
The speaker wires are plenty long enough to set up the speakers wherever you wish, and I use the remote this comes with all the time.
As for how it sounds, it sounds amazing. It has all the bass you would ever need. Usually halfway up on the bass is plenty for me. The surround sound it puts out is like being in the theatres. Gaming with these couldn't be any better. All the surround effects of bullets going by or a convoy of vehicles driving behind you is just awesome.

Cons: The only negative thing I can think of is they make a pop sound rarely when you might switch cable channels too quickly and the sound is up high. It might just be due to the cable box but it only happens rarely so not worth docking these an egg for me because they work perfectly with everything else.

Other Thoughts: I paid $340 for these, 4 years ago, and they have been well worth the money considering you can connect basically any device to it and it puts out theatre sound quality. Also, they feel really well made and strong quality. But that's what I expect from Logitech. I bought some wall mounts for the speakers and they look great and sound great. I can imagine I'll be enjoying these at least another 5+ years.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Speakers. An outstanding buy

Pros: The sounds just come alive and the base is phenomenal. Couldn't turn them all the way up for fear the neighbors would complain. Tpta;y love these speakers and have them connected via Optical out on my PC.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent high end response from Logitech!

Pros: Heavy duty speakers that aren't made cheaply. The quality is obvious but they don't weigh too much to sit properly on stands that I bought for them. They blast really loud with clarity and the bass makes my windows shake somewhat. I don't usually listen to them at full volume as you really find yourself yelling incoherently about what is being played. They are perfect surround sound speakers for your pc

Cons: They use wires. I don't give any stars off on this as it is very obvious if you even read the description. This is a pro and a con. Pro... if you have a nephew that is a carpet layer like mine, you will only see the wires coming to the back of each speaker satellite as the wire is under the carpet. But even barring that, you don't have to replace them with batteries all the time. I write this review as a pc speakers product as there are better for a TV Cinema feel.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the money to me.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT SPEAKERS

Pros: I Bought This Set from Another Retailer about 5 Years ago, and was doing a search to see if you can still buy them. You Can! I paid around 450$ for them back then. I have Jammed out and Pushed these to the limit many times. They sound great and I have had no Problems at all from them. They sound just as good 5 Years Later.

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsBest speakers available for PC

Pros: 1. Supports Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1 and PCM 2.0.
2. Good variety of connections: 2 toslink fiber, 1 coax, six-channel analog, and 2 stereo inputs
3. Expands stereo to 5.1, 4.1 or 2.1
4. Allows adjusting surround and subwoofer volumes separately
5. Remote provided

Cons: 1. Lacks support for 5.1 DD+, Dolby ProLogic
2. Controller will expand digital stereo PCM up to full 5.1 but not two-channel stereo DD or DTS (sound will only come out of left/right speakers).
3. No hdmi input/passthrough, with no ability to expand to 7.1
4. Crackling/popping noises when stopping, pausing, or skipping through AV files maybe a little more apparent compared to previous speakers

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons, this is the best speaker set available for the PC and eliminates the need to buy an expensive receiver for 5.1 sound. The subwoofer should be fine for most. The sound quality is excellent. Just be sure not to spend over $300 for them. They do go on sale from time to time.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy, likely defective

Pros: Great system...when it works

Cons: It has had issues multiple times in my ownership of not working and just popping and crackling noises coming from it. Resetting the system did nothing. This is a common issue apparently that Logitech has not fixed. It may go out in 6 moths or a year and a half but it will eventually.

1 out of 5 eggsAll Units Overheat

Pros: None

Cons: DO NOT PURCHASE THESE SPEAKERS!!

The Speakers have a technical flaw that when you connect any type of connection it starts amassing huge amounts of heat until you hear cracks and pops in the speakers. The average temperature in the unit after about 30 min of gaming is 150+ Deg!

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't seem much better than z263

Pros: Great sound and build quality. Will probably last for years. More mid level volume than z263 but not by much.

Cons: Might take it back, I have owned z263 for 4 years now and they sound louder than the z906's. Even though there are three more satellites that put out 30watt rms more per satellite! Plus the sub is more powerful than my z263 130watt rms sub and it sounds a lot weaker.

No bass level control like on the z263?

Other Thoughts: The z263 are the best desktop speakers you can buy in my opinion. However, I was looking at the z906 for an apartment home theater set up but they are not very strong. I have it all the way up and it sounds as loud as my z263's at half volume.

Note: 263 are not a good tv speaker, the satellites are not strong enough to carry a big load throughout a room. I thought the extra satellite power would help but it doesn't.
