5 out of 5 eggsLogitech Z523 2.1 Speakers

Pros: Excellent value. Connect to my Laptop to listen to Internet content on the patio. Absolutely no complaints. Good full range of sound and plenty of bass, actually only use about 2/3 available.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Absolutely recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsMy second purchase

Pros: Bass response from the sub-woofer is controlled by a knob on the satellite speaker. This arrangement allows you to precisely control how much bass comes from the sub-woofer.

The speakers have grills that protect the speakers.

Cons: No manual or instructions come with the speaker system. If you want a manual you would have to go to the manufacturer's website.

I am not sure who certifies these speakers as good because the way that the speakers are packaged do not look like manufacturer's packaging. The speakers and sub-woofer are wrapped in bubble wrap and then stuffed into a plain brown box.

Other Thoughts: This review is based upon the second set of speakers that I purchased. The sound produced by these speakers sound very clear with little or no distortion. Over all these speakers are well worth the price that I paid for them. I would certainly recommend them to anyone wanting a good set of speakers at a reasonable price.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of Time

Pros: Pros? I couldn't say. Looked nice. If only it worked.

Cons: This item was "refurbished"??? It had a loud buzz. Music was badly distorted and the left speaker didn't play at all.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Cheaper than new

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: Now I must pay twenty bucks to ship it to CA if I want it replaced. Not worth it for what I paid. Cutting my losses now. I don't think it's fair I need to pay for return shipping when I received a defective product.

4 out of 5 eggsgood speaker at refub price

Pros: Good bass
decent sound
small size

Cons: a little bit of the noise when no music, regular price is a bit high.

Other Thoughts: I got this of a refub unit, it came in a brown box with no other box in it, opened up the box the speaker is right in there with no other protections, I feel a bit non-safe for packaging. there is no white box or any other box packaging the subwoofer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat refurb

Pros: * zero problems with the system. works exactly as it should. packaging was old and beat up a bit, but product itself looks new. there was plastic film on the speaker facades so they are glossy and had no scratches.
* more powerful than i can test, volume wise. i live in an apartment and can't put the knobs past the halfway mark without stuff around my desk rattling and the floor vibrating.
* bargain refurb price!

Cons: temptation to blast my music loud enough to get complaints..?

Other Thoughts: it's not a 5.1 system or better, so if you want true realism for theater/gaming, this would be a compromise. i personally chose this because i have a 5.1 system set up at my dad's and reconnecting the cables after a move is always a pain in the backside.. i just wanted solid, loud sound with a good sub and minimal cables in case i need to move. this is it!

3 out of 5 eggsMediocre for the price.

Pros: It was refurbished, which led to a big price cut. Crisp Mid/highs. Bass knob on tower speakers instead of being out of the way on the sub itself. Mellow yellow LED power light instead of a blinding obnoxious one.

Cons: It was more expensive than my old Logitec Z340 I was replacing, and doesn't sound as good in my opinion. Also the side mounted 3.5 mm jacks are not good for those with cabinet enclosures. Also there is some subwoofer feedback, a slight hum when nothing is being played through it, and no it is not my device. It even does it when unplugged.

Other Thoughts: People raved that the sub was awesome but i find it mediocre and that it bottoms out too easily. Not worth being a con, just a thought.
