4 out of 5 eggsGood loud sound

Pros: Worked right out of the box, surprisingly loud speakers for the price.

Got them for under 10 bucks with no tax and free shipping (not worth more then that).

Cons: Very static-y at times, the sound is not as clear as bigger name brands.

Other Thoughts: the three piece set with the woofer is much better and only a few bucks more, Woofer is hard and loud.. Worth every penny. This is a pretty good company.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for work

Pros: Great price.....small footprint....great price....

Cons: they don't make me coffee in the morning

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for kickin profile speakers to blast your lil wayne tracks....look elsewhere. If you need a great low cost solution for your desk at work, these fit the bill. I constantly have people wanting to borrow my speakers for meetings.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: I've purchased many CA speakers and I love the "on-board" volume control to help avoid NSFO problems. While I generally use the USB powered version I needed an AC powered version this time to share a KVM setup and the 4 watts provides very clear PC sound, even while occasionally viewing Hulu videos :^)

Cons: I'd gladly pay two dollars more to have the left and right speakers detachable from each other. In an office environment it can sometimes be unhandy to move things enough to run the wire behind the monitor and various other personal objects on a desk.

Other Thoughts: I honestly don't understand the negative comments. These are low cost speakers not a studio sound system.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk - don't waste your time

Pros: None.

Cons: - Right speaker cuts in and out depending how you touch/adjust the volume knob.

- Both the line cord, and the cord connecting L & R speaker, seem unnecessarily short (and are not detachable).

- Lousy sound: Very small "muted" sound, with poor separation. These only cost me 14 bucks, so I'm not terribly surprised, but I was hoping for better.

Other Thoughts: Originally, I passed on the higher end systems, since I don't need (nor would I even be able to judge) audiophile-grade sound, and I really wanted a simple two-speaker setup that didn't take up too much desk space.

However, these speakers are actually annoying to listen to; guess I need to spend a bit more money...

2 out of 5 eggsWeak

Pros: Cheap when I bought.

Cons: Halfway up it'll start to crackling.
Not very loud or clear.

Other Thoughts: The built in monitor speakers on my asus sound louder and clearer than these, and the built ins weren't great to start with.

2 out of 5 eggsCrummy speakers, but what do you expect for $10?

Pros: They produce sound.

Cons: No bass, the sound is scratchy if turned too high.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend these speakers unless you are using them at low volume, like at work.

3 out of 5 eggsThese are okay

Pros: cheap
good brand
self powered
easy to use separately with other devices

Cons: I am a bit of an audiophile, and maybe it's because I am used to listening to my Logitech Z-5500's (which sound pretty good), and these speakers have no bass even for a 2.0 system and vocals come out muddy like they're in the background.

Other Thoughts: These are great computer or even gaming speakers for the price, just not music or movies.

1 out of 5 eggsJust Awful

Pros: ZERO - these are the worst speakers I've ever had on any computer my entire life.

Cons: There just isn't enough space to write everything wrong with these. If you like your sound minus 75% of the frequency humans can hear, these are for you.

Other Thoughts: This company should just stop making speakers, and go back to producing dixie cups.

3 out of 5 eggsOwned 6 years and still working.

Pros: I can't remember how much I paid but I am sure it was less than $20 usd. They work as good as the day I bought them 6 years ago.

Cons: The blue light is too bright. I ran these on a pc that I used to watch movies. The light was so distracting, I covered it with electrical tape.

About every minute or two there is a brief buzzing sound. I believe it is electrical interference from my PC since I have the amplified speaker right next to my tower. They seem to accept more RF interference than any other set of speakers I have owned.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. I have come close to chucking these in the trash but I can't just throw something out that works.

2 out of 5 eggsRF interference

Pros: Hey, they're cheap, and they seem to work pretty well. They've "lasted" me 3 years so far on different computer builds. Bonus radio functionality :P

Cons: No Bass, sometimes the right speaker just doesn't output any sound from the computer (except for the RF interference... more on that in a second), not very loud... but it's not like you bought these to fill a concert hall.

Now about the Radio Frequency interference.... I can hear (hearing it RIGHT NOW actually) some FM radio stations when these speakers are set to a low volume. It's like the wires themselves are radio antennas and the speakers are playing what they pick up. Mostly, it's just static, but every so often I can hear and recognize songs ("Disturbia.... Disturbiaaaiaiaaa...") and it's annoying as all hell!

No, it's not my motherboard's onboard sound. I plugged earphones directly into the computer port and it's static free. I then plugged the earphones into the port on the right speaker, and the radio is back.

When you turn up the volume, the radio signal goes down, but when you turn the volume all the way down, it's loud as ever!

Other Thoughts: I bought these at Rite Aid just over 3 years ago, and I've had them ever since. (Bugger it's picking up Lady Gaga now!). For a while, I switched to a set of Logitech X-230 speakers (highly recommended) but then i had to sell them and my awesome computer last year and went back to these. I just like the idiosyncrasies with these, but they really do aggravate me sometimes.

So, this is just a warning. it might not happen to you, but it could depend on a lot of factors. The RF interference didn't happen while I was in my college apartment, but now that i moved to the very top of a high hill it's very, very noticeable (Hey, it's Ryan Seacrest now!)

I wish there was a way to change radio stations.

So the verdict? Spend $10 to $15 more on a Logitech and not hate yourself later.
