5 out of 5 eggsMore than what I expected

Pros: its cheap not expensive. the speakers and subwoofer are pretty loud if used in a small room. the desktop remote is very convenient to adjust the volume without having to reach for a knob somewhere as you can put it wherever you want. It will work with the 6 channel onboard audio that most motherboards have.

Cons: the subwoofer produces loose bass as opposed to tight bass. So it makes a lot of sound, but at higher volumes it not very clean. Its still there though and if you don't have audiophile ears you probably won't notice.

The wires are fairly short, the surround speakers could definitely do with longer wires to facilitate a clean installation (cable management)

Other Thoughts: After a couple months the remote stopped working. Cyber Acoustics replaced it within 3 days though as soon as I made the warranty claim, no questions asked.

If you want a set of speakers for you computer or a small room to make sound these are pretty good for the price. Although if using as a stereo or music system don't get the 5.1 system as 3 of the speakers won't be used in that configuration.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the cost, not spectacular.

Pros: They don't suck
The volume switch is easy to use, and the light in it is just bright enough to make it visible in the dark, without being distracting.

Cons: It's not for audiophiles, but it's not priced for them either.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the cost if you just want a speaker set that is good for all around use in a small to medium sized room.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap and not bad

Pros: Speakers, and sounds good for the cost

Cons: Had to call CA to get a part not included

Other Thoughts: In the package I received, a reote unit was not included despite the package contents list. Good news is that CA sent it separately, so 4 points.

As to the sound, they're cheap speakers. I don't expect Dolby THX grade out of these, so they sound fine to y ears.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The previous reviews were unfair in my opinion. For the price you pay you get a quality experience; Sound is very crisp and much better than the old altec lansing it replaced. The person I ordered this set for is an audiophile. Music is his favorite thing... he says he loves the sound, and I agree.

Cons: Cheap plastic. Handle with care.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product for price

Pros: Price,installation,connection

Cons: Range

Other Thoughts: Great product given that your computer is not too far from your router. Never had any connection problems and installation was easy.

Pros: Accurate sound, decent price

Cons: Severe static not caused by 3.5mm cables, therefore not fixable by user

4 out of 5 eggsNeeds to be wireless

Pros: Easy to connect, small, and unintrusive. Sound quality is- meh, the Bostons that came with my OLD Gateway are still better sounding.

Cons: The rear speaker need to be either wireless OR have a lot longer and smaller diameter cables because as the are now you would need to them setup in a closet or cubical.

Other Thoughts: Also, the system does not seem to have very good shielding since turning on or off a small desk fan in close proxemity to them results in a "thump" in the speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: - SUPER HEAVY DUTY ASSEMBLY !! The satellite speakers have fallen a myrriad of times from table height (cables are too short), but these are simply unbreakable : excellent if you have kids!
- The satellite system is very handy. You can plug headphones onto it as well as any iPod or other guyzmo using an "AUX IN" cable. Turning the nob will control the volume, while there's a slider for controlling the subwoofer.

Cons: Cables are ridiculously short : good for a desktop computer, but not for a living room, you must buy extenders (IMHO, if it was solely for a desktop computer I would instead buy a good 2.1 speaker system).

Other Thoughts: While building my computers, I didn't have the budget for 5.1 / 7.1 speaker system (most if not all are over 100$), so I decided to buy this set, just to try out my sound card (and play games in EAX 5.0 + watch movies and music in surround 5.1), until I would be able to buy a super-duper speaker system. Well I'm so satisfied even though it's not the "nec plus ultra", that I forgot about my "urgent" need to acquire a top-notch speaker system... It'll come one day, but it's not "urgent" anymore. I'm very happy with this cheap product, that's odd...

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly good...

Pros: - Excellent for a small room or an apartment, more than enough watts.
- I like the round knob, it lies on top of my HDTV furniture (with my MMPC lying under the TV on a shelve), and the blue led isn't too bright. Two volume controls, one for the overall volume (on top of the volume control you get with your PC), another for the sub-woofer.
- That round knob also has an aux. input as well as a headphone input (!)

Cons: Since I use these in my living-room for the MMPC (Multimedia PC plugged onto my HDTV), wires are MUCH too short : I'm obliged to put rear speakers "in front" when I'm not watching a movie or playing a game (or music), else it makes my living-room look messy with those wires in the middle... More over, because of that short length I can't really position them at the rear of the sofa, they act as side-speakers...

Other Thoughts: For the price it's an excellent value, I would recommend if you're on a tight budget. If used in a living-room, consider that you'll need to buy wire extensions.
