Bose® Companion® 3 multimedia speaker system

Pros: Small size - if you're really just THAT strained for desk space.
I do know Bose has great customer service though - they'll take care of you, but I guess they owe you that much. Newegg also has great cust. service.

Cons: The price is outrageous for 2.1 of this quality. The sound quality and response is poor if it's turned up at all. It's just an illusion of good response

Other Thoughts: You can easily find speakers that are of much higher quality than this for probably half the cost. Look at klipsch 2.1 to start - if your spending this kind of money it should fill a room and not drop off in quality.

Pros: - Minimal desk space required.
- Stands can be removed to make the small speakers take up even less (vertical) space.
- Very clean design will look good with any furniture.
- Tap to mute on the puck is very convenient.
- Additional input and output on puck is also great!
- Puck is heavy enough to not move when touched.
- Very strong bass.

Cons: - Sound is pretty good, but I think I can hear what people mean about it lacking in the mids. It may depend on what style of music you listen to.

Other Thoughts: A lot of people tell me that Bose is not worth the price for how it sounds. That may be true, but I bought these speakers because they offered the best balance of a small form factor, elegant looks and good sound. While the sound may not be up to par with some audiophile's tastes, Bose has made up for that by paying attention to all the other details of the design.

Other Thoughts: I have the Logitech z2300 THX and had Klipsh promedia 2.1 and I can say these Bose speakers sound better than the other 2, all of them are good but these Bose speakers are better

Pros: The delivery is so fast expecting 3 business days, but the delivery came not even in 24 hours...

Cons: The sounds that coming out from it is like shattered,
the handy control pad's light is turning red which should be green. both problem control pod and two speakers, first time I bought Bose I failed!

Other Thoughts: I'm so disappointed about the defect, the same day I got my delivery the same day I got the problem... the worst thing is that I'm paying almost $14.00 for the return or replace item...

Pros: Small, Simple, Stylish and Sound Great. Also, they seem to be built really sturdy.

Cons: Not ideal for Bass Head type music. The bass module isn't a sub-woofer, i believe it is just a woofer and doesn't respond in the sub range. Still, most rap and hip hop will sound good for most people.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased the companion 2's 4 years ago and are still going strong and sound as good as the day i bought them. I was in an apartment and couldn't have too much bass output. Now i'm in the country and wanted more volume and more bass. The bass module will kick out an enormous amount of bass from instruments such as an electric bass guitar or drums. just don't expect it to act like a sub-woofer. All in all the best computer speakers i've owned or heard.

Pros: good quality Bose is exceptional with their speakers

Cons: The audio male connector cable isn't long enough for the set up that I had but if your system is going to be next to your computer then that shouldn't be a problem

Other Thoughts: good things aren't cheap

Pros: easy to install/ small speakers easy to hide or fit into any situation/ control knob to adjust bass influence/ and of course, it's best quality is its sound. the sound is truly great for the size.

Cons: price is high (but you get what you pay for; i'm not sure there is a system that could offer as good a sound for any less money)

Other Thoughts: more on sound: i use this system in my main living room area. i watch movies and listen to music. the sound is rich and clear. at very low volumes it becomes a little transparent but once you get to a volume that really utilizes the sub significantly the sound perfectly fills the room...punchy, clear sound, not too bassy. the mids are amazing.

Pros: Sturdy, Great Sound!

Pros: The best 2.1 speakers out there. These can perform way better than you have in mind. Im more than glad to own them.

Cons: The only con is that you get used to these high quality sound and when your gonna here another speakers you wont enjoy music as you do with bose. Kind of expensive. The only con is that the bass box is made of press board. I notice that when I looked at the front grill with a flash light.

Other Thoughts: new egg can sell them cheaper. these speakers had been out there like more than 5 years

Pros: good clarity and decent volume. good low end and not a bad overall produce, but.....

Cons: i contacted bose support about a couple of design flaws, hoping there would be a work around. the bose tech was very rude, treated me like i didn't even know how to operate this (if he could only see the audio eq i own...). i explained the problem and again, he did not address the problem- only touted how great bose is (good brain washing bose). after becoming irritated with this reps rudeness, i told him that maybe he should send a simple memo to the engineers because the problem i have with the system is a feasible CHEAP fix and really just a simple oversight in design that 90% of the other manufacturers don't have. this may have decent sound, but bose has made an enemy in me for their horrible rudeness.
