The Companion 3 Series II from Bose is an easy way to get great stereo sound from your computer. It comes with two magnetically shielded speakers already mounted on their stands and an Acoustimass module. There is also a multi-function control pod with a volume control, headphone jack, Aux jack and mute button.
Plug the Acoustimass module into the stereo out jack on the back of your computer and the speakers into the Acoustimass module and you’re ready to enjoy music on your computer in ways you never have before.
The satellite speakers are designed specifically to work with the Acoustimass module. The signals that they get from the controller in the Acoustimass module have been tuned by the integrated signal processing and active equalization for true to the original recording sounds at almost any volume level. The compression circuitry minimizes distortion at high volumes, so go ahead and turn it up.

Save your money
- Pros: Good, clear high-range, clear bass.
- Cons: Very little mid-range, weak bass... some distortion at higher volumes. Speakers didn't last long; left speaker shorted out after about 9 months at the jack.
- Other Thoughts: Save your money, get some Klipsch. The mid-range is far better and makes gaming/music much more enjoyable. Also easier on the wallet.
Great buy
- Pros: Amazing Speakers. I must say that when I bought these speakers to upgrade my Altec Lansing I was not fully satisfied, I talked to someone and they said to buy a new sound card, so I did. After buying this sound card, I was blown away, it was amazing what these speakers did compared to my friends 5.1 home theater system.
This is the soundcard I purchased http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102005
- Cons: I thought that before I had the soundcard it would go in and out and sort of distortioned on some of the heavier songs, after I never heard it again.

- Pros: I bought the speaker because I likes to watch the movie. Great bass, clear sound, easy to handle. Don't really need a good sound card system.
- Cons: The power button for the woofe is hard to turn off when it is underneath the desk.
Great speaker system, pretty expensive
- Pros: Phenomenal sound from such a small package. I wanted something that didn't take up half my desk, and these did the trick.
- Cons: Extremely expensive. You can get the same quality from something $100 less.
Bass below 50 Hz is non existent. DO NOT buy these for rap music
- Other Thoughts: Where to start....well, these speakers to sound amazing. When I plugged them in after purchasing them, I was utterly amazed at how great they sounded even before adjusting my equalizer. Most types of music sounded great (see cons), movies sounded awesome, games were ok. If you are planning on using the sound system for mostly gaming, I would recommend the Logitech systems as they tend to sound very full when playing shooter-style games. Personally, I would buy these speakers again as they sound great for all that I use them for.
For those reviewers that said these sound tinny and whatnot, if you connect these nice speakers to the lousy sound that comes out of MB sound cards, of COURSE they will sound horrible! Speakers can only do so much. How many audiophiles out there spend thousands of dollars on surround sound speakers and hook them up to a lousy Sony receiver? Come on now. Connect these speakers to a high end sound card, and listen again. You'll be surprised.
Great
- Pros: Great speakers..bose has always been one of the best around and i wasnt dissapointed with this purchase. The high range will make your ears bleed on this system. People write reviews with absolutely no idea what the speakers are supposed to sound like since they most likely dont even have a soundcard let alone know how to set the levels on it...this system is great...especially with anything that has an X-fi in it
- Cons: Jack in the back for the left satellite was a little finicky..took some twisting around to find where it would stay connected...or it could have just been my cat messing with it
