Bose® Companion® 2 Series II Multimedia Speaker System

ICON Loading...

The TrueSpace® digital processing circuitry enhances your listening experience by widening the audio image of your speakers making it sound like the music is coming from a wide concert stage. The speakers also have an automatic tonal balance adjustment that adjusts the sound depending on the volume for a rich experience at any audio level.

These speakers sound too good to be restricted to just one source so Bose included dual inputs so you can listen to music from your MP3 player or other device when you're not listening to your computer. They've also put a headphone jack for private listening underneath the volume control on the front of one of the cabinets.

  • newegg 2.0 Speaker System With Bose’s proprietary TrueSpace® stereo signal processing circuitry, the Bose Companion 2 Series II multimedia speaker system delivers a wide stereo soundstage for enhanced music, movie and gaming experiences..

3 out of 5 eggsCheap Bose Speaker

Pros: It looks nice and small.

Cons: I use it for my home theater projector, but sound too small. It sounds just the same as some $50 PC speakers. The cable is too short for projector.

Other Thoughts: I should buy a better Bose speaker.

5 out of 5 eggsNIce Little Boxes

Pros: These were a very nice upgrade to the Creative 2.0 system they replaced.

Cons: Cords are short, had to use extension cables. I had the same problems on my Bose 2.1 system.

A tad pricey, but they are Bose.

Other Thoughts: These are used on my wifes system, she loves them.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME $99 speakers !

Pros: These speakers by BOSE are super great!
I've always loved BOSE products and I've not been let down here as well....
I highly recommend them !

Cons: Nothing at all ............

Other Thoughts: These are NOT over a foot tall as someone else has mentioned!!! NO - Not an actual 13 inches tall ....NO -

Mine got here in TWO days from ordering

and they measure only 7.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches deep and 3 inches wide. PERFECT size !!!!!!!!!!!
They are a great light silver grey like in the photo.

The sound out of these little guys is amazing! Just like I knew it would be from my past BOSE ownerships. The highs are slightly lacking compared to the great bass. Probably because of the great bass.
Nothing really to complain about. Just noticing.
Just turn 'em up. No distortion.......
Very full & rich sound! No cardboard sound here.
A digital equalizer would be cool too.

I'm using an Asrock motherboard - 970 Extreme 3
- and I plugged these into the audio output of that mainboard - Worked right away !!!!!! The 2.0 is no problem what so ever. Works PERFECTLY ...... No hassle at all.
Really, these are plug-and-play ...... easy pezzie
Buy these.
You'll love them like I do....... honestly ....
I would buy these again if I needed more, in an instant.
But I like bass, as I've always been a bass lover from teenage hood. My speakers from back then were the huge Klipsch Corner horns that are the size of refrigerators & HAD to sit in the very corners a the room to work correctly. I miss those 98db at 1 meter with ONE watt !! They were louder than a LIVE band in the same room !! haa haa ....

1 out of 5 eggsI hate these speakers

Pros: They are pretty.

Cons: Sound is terrible. It sounds muffled. I wasn't expecting true greatness but these are no better than a pair of $20 speakers you can pick up anywhere. Even Walgreens.
Even worse, there is a humming/buzzing noise that comes and goes but mostly comes. The speakers have no on/off switch so you have to turn the volume all the way down so you don't hear the humming, even though you can still kind of hear it.
I have tried these speakers with other computers - it's the speakers that cause the hum, not the sound card or computer location or anything else.

Other Thoughts: I thought I was getting Bose quality. Guess I was just snowed by the commercials

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding speakers

Pros: These speakers will satisfy the typical audiophile's ears. There is an abnormal amount of reviews online about these speakers that say that they do not perform as well as other speakers in their price class, but they are definitely rocking everything that I put in through them. From classical and heavy metal music to youtube videos and FPS games, these bose speakers will be the center of every guitar crescendo, grenade explosion, and star wars theme that I may encounter in my online experience. When/If they wind up blowing, I will buy another pair.

Cons: They are a bit large - larger than they appear in the description, but this is my fault for not reading the dimensions before purchasing.

5 out of 5 eggsBose Speakers

Pros: I have had a pair of these for over 5 years. They deliver good 2.0 stereo sound. Good enough desktop speakers for general use.

Cons: Only con is that the right speaker has finally died but like I wrote it has been over 5 years.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price!

Pros: Sound quality is unmatched! I have owned multiple PC speaker systems and this is by far the best for the price! The cord between SPEAKERS is a good length for separating them

Cons: The audio to mini cables to connect your PC to the speakers are VERY short (2.5'-3' if I had to guess). Luckily it is a standard red/white audio connection on the rear so I was able to purchase a longer cable pretty cheap at the BX. So if you might be tight on length, head over to the accessories section and add a longer cable to your cart.

The power cable is also pretty short. Finding a replacement for this might be more difficult.

Other Thoughts: With the space I have, a 2.1 + system is just not possible so I had to stick with a 2.0 system. Because of this I did extensive research as to what would fill the room with the best sound without a subwoofer (which is not as easy as it sounds).

I was stuck between this and the Creative GigaWorks T20 sound system. I never got to listen to the Creative system but Best Buy had the Bose as a demo in their store so I was able to give it a quick go. It did not take me long to realize that it would be difficult for Creative to compete with Bose on this one.

If you are looking for a relatively cheap sound system with superb sound quality, don't think about the C2, just buy it!
