Give your computer voice lessons with the Companion® 2 Series II multimedia speakers from Bose. The ported cabinets allow for a deeper, richer bass from the small enclosures. The cabinets are also magnetically shielded so you don’t have to worry about them interfering with your monitor.
The TrueSpace® digital processing circuitry enhances your listening experience by widening the audio image of your speakers making it sound like the music is coming from a wide concert stage. The speakers also have an automatic tonal balance adjustment that adjusts the sound depending on the volume for a rich experience at any audio level.
These speakers sound too good to be restricted to just one source so Bose included dual inputs so you can listen to music from your MP3 player or other device when you're not listening to your computer. They've also put a headphone jack for private listening underneath the volume control on the front of one of the cabinets.

Big bass, little box
- Pros: Lots of bass in a sub-less environment. Modest price for a Bose product. Loud and clear sound.
- Cons: Maybe too much bass--might have to tweak EQ to bring it down so it doesn't drown out mids/highs.
- Other Thoughts: The BOSE name has been and will continue to be highly regarded in the audio community. If you're on a budget for speakers and don't want a sub, these are a great deal.
- Pros: Massive sound from just two small speakers. Surprisingly clear and loud bass.
- Cons: These speakers are pretty expensive. The bass can be too loud, depending on your preference, but there is no way to turn it down unless you tweaked your audio equalizer on your media player of choice.
- Other Thoughts: You're paying a hefty premium for a set of 2.0 speakers, but the excellent sound quality is definitely worth the price of admission, especially if you've never heard Bose speakers before. I love listening to my music collection even more now. Movies and games sound great as well. Personally, the bass doesn't bother me too badly, and I actually prefer it, especially when playing Counter-Strike or any other game with gunshots or explosions. If you want the Bose sound but don't want to pay $250 for it, these speakers are a great place to start.

Just great!
- Pros: Oh man, these are fantastic speakers! Like going to a concert hall, really.
They crank it out, and rattle your bones. You'd be crazy NOT to buy these.
- Cons: none
- Pros: Sturdy construction, they look great. Rich sound, I use them for both music and gaming and love every minute of it.
- Cons: The cable that goes from the right unit to the computer is short, you may need to buy a longer one. As some others said, these speakers are pretty heavy on the bass, especially when you plug in a pair of headphones.
- Other Thoughts: I'm using these with a $70 Turtle Beach sound card. If you have a cheap or on-board sound card you might want to look at cheaper speakers but if you have a good card and want excellent sound buy these.
- Pros: I'm not going to lie, these speakers can sound pretty good, but that all depends on the type of music you listen to. I tried them with classical which sounded pretty good, but when it came to my favorite music, metal, they just couldn't cut. Didn't even come close in fact. Nice that you can get a fair amount of bass from a 2.0 setup.
- Cons: The major con for these is the price. They are no where near worth $100. Max I would pay for these would be $50 considering I heard a pair of $50 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers sound better over all. Decided to take them back after the first 30 seconds of music.
- Other Thoughts: Like I said before really depends on the type of music and other media your using them for.
