2 out of 5 eggsNo complaints until sub took a dump

Pros: Decent sounding. Got pretty loud

Cons: Remote is really junky. The speakers sounded good but after about a month and a half the subwoofer just started constantly making noise when nothing was playing. And it's of course out of the 30 day return..so I'm looking into how to return these things.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't recommend.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price, $39 free shipping. Sounds (sounded) ok for the price. Not entirely unattractive.

Cons: Bass just muddled goo. Paper towel in the port made it less irritating. Speak cables short, with RCA connectors, real pain, cable too thin and fragile to solder. Left channel just died after two weeks of very easy use. Never turned it higher than the start up volume. Just died.

Other Thoughts: Threw it out. Literally. Opened the door, threw it out.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Speakers for the Price

Pros: Great speakers, great bass, great treble! Sounds is good enough for enthusiasts that want some clearer sound than a monitor can amp out, or dying speakers can. Great look too.
Oh and affordable!

Cons: ... What the... is this remote made out of? It's literally, like a kid's toy remote control-knock off made from cheap plastic left overs of an actual remote control.

Cheap speakers. The quality of it's overall look (not the wooden encasing of the speakers and bass box) is... well, dated cheap.

UBER short cords! Unless you plan on keeping everything next to each other, good luck with making distance for these babies!

Other Thoughts: I only have this product for a day cause I'm moving and got a little impatient to unbox these speakers to "try them out" when I received them. I must say I'm impressed!

Why? Despite all the negative cons and harsh reviews on these, they are quite nice speakers. I honestly like them MORE than my old logitech speakers that would gather dust and have finicky speakers that die out here and there. Plus, they where small. These guys? Pretty big actually.

Regarding the sound, these guys sound GREAT. I'm no audiophile who gets an O-face from hearing crystal clear sound, and I could be, but for just great referencing speakers with decent sound these guys do the trick for A LOT cheaper compared to the popular brands. AND IT'S NOT A SURROUND SPEAKER! For it's output sound quality despite being only 2.1, I'm impressed!

The base is rather strong (good thing), the treble is good, and the master control works fine. It all works with the cheap remote control. I have not encountered any distortion yet, but who wants to max out their speakers when it can already output GREAT sound at 30-40% already??? I'm not trying to become deaf and would prefer to keep my ear drums functional.

The overall downfall of this speaker is it's "cheap" quality look. Yet it doesn't feel CHEAP at all because it's not like you'll be staring at your speakers while computing away on some social network or streaming Pandora or watching some movie you pira-I mean- downloaded according to the downloading laws of Ameruca. No, rather the sound output is GREAT and with controls over bass, treble, and master sound? That's hard to find for people who love some manual control over their techy stuff.

The only thing I'm annoyed of is the lack of "true" control over my bass and treble controls. I prefer nobs for precise leveling of it, versus a lit screen showing the average leveling of these functions through the remote or bass box buttons. However, I digress. The short cords are far more annoying than precise control. 6ft- aint nothing for versatile placement of these speakers.

SO, you get what you pay for, with extra great sound output. OH and these guys NEED to be taken care off (because they are cheaper quality), so any beating up of them or tangling of their cords might just actually result in BAD distortion of the speakers (I noticed a little hiss when some weight of other cords fell over my right speaker cord until I cleaned up the tangling mess). If you don't take extra care in these speakers to make sure their cords are not tangle up, be prepared for the consequences.

4 out of 5 eggsOM, They're LOUD

Pros: Got these for girlfriend's build. She loves to listen to music and these sound outstanding. The remote is a nice touch, but has a few cons - see below. They actually sound very good for what they are. Nice tones and bass response for playing MP3's and short videos.

Cons: Sometimes you have to point the remote directly at the bass and remote receiver or the signals don't get through. I'm not a fan of anything that takes a watch battery, but that's the price you pay for a slim remote like this.

Other Thoughts: I really don't like most of the music she plays. Why did I get her speakers that are so loud?!?!

1 out of 5 eggshorrible

Pros: excellent sound but thats it

Cons: no power button on the front of the bass box or the remote, remote barely works, settings reset everytime you turn it off and default bass is WAY too high, short cheap cords. and to top it all i had to send it back 3 TIMES! first 2 remotes didnt work at all and tweeters pushed in, third led screen burned out within 2 weeks.

4 out of 5 eggsSo-so

Pros: Audio quality pretty good, stylish and powerful

Cons: Bass can be a little muddy, and I find myself re EQ'ing for different tasks. Also, the remote sometimes gets crosswired (i.e. trying to change the treble level will decrease bass instead, or trying to lower the volume will increase it), but this happens relatively infrequently.

Other Thoughts: When it comes to audio quality, I'm pretty picky. Overall, the audio quality of these speakers is pretty good, and there's very little speaker distortion even at high volumes. As long as you don't mind tapping some EQ buttons when switching tasks, these work just fine.

2 out of 5 eggsDissapointing

Pros: good sound quality

Cons: no speaker grills, no power button, settings reset everytime you turn it off, arrived with broken tweeter, price and shipping lowered immediatley after purchasing, so now i'm paying over $40 to ship to me and back

Other Thoughts: dissapointed in newegg on this product, i am a regular customer here and expected more

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent sound, very loud

Pros: The sound is fantastic and crystal-clear. You get an entire spectrum of sound, from low to high. The system is very loud and the equalizer can be fun to look at. The remote, as bad as I thought it would be, is absolutely fantastic! The option to change treble and bass on the fly is also very convenient. The wood-enclosed bass and speakers are also very nice, and give it a better sound. The build quality seems to be above average as well, so I'm hoping these don't die after a month like my Creative T3130 did (which was not serviceable).

Cons: The bass sounds very.. bad at higher levels. It's hard to explain the sound, but it's not good. The LCD panel where the equalizer is gets very hot to the touch, and I'm not sure why. Also, whenever the system is turned off, the settings for bass/treble/volume are completely reset, which is very annoying.

Other Thoughts: Just a note for those who are tech-savy enough and own a soldering gun - this system, like many other computer sound systems, is not serviceable by you!

4 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: Good quality for their price. Very lightweight and the cables are perfectly sized for my desk. Look really nice and the LCD display is pretty cool to look at.

Cons: None so far, but it's only been a week

Other Thoughts: I would have liked if there was a number representation of the volume level, but that's just a preference i have when it comes to stereos.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent until it died

Pros: Decent Sounding, Low Cost

Cons: Died after a month

Other Thoughts: For such a low cost and low number of reviews, I decided to take a chance. The 2.1 system sounded decent for the price right up until it died. Right after the 30 day return period. Testing the RMA process now.
