SYBA CL-ME-606 3.5mm Connector Desktop Microphone

Pros: If you are lucky, and can get your hands on one that works, kudos.

Cons: Initially I thought the mic was working great. That is until the mic suddenly started picking up what sounds like an amp or a bass tone that just wrecks the ears anyone on the listening end. I bought the mic for gaming, Skype, Ventrilo, mumble, ext., the mic did the same thing on all of these programs. Checked the drivers, and troubleshooted my heart out. I believe I just got a bad mic. Unfortunately that is the 3rd thing that newegg has sent me that has been defective, and I don't intend on re shipping out a 10 dollar lost cause. So much for "holiday savings".

Other Thoughts: I would recommend buying this product to those who are too lazy to go pay for a headset for $25, and are prepared to pay shipping multiple directions in order to get a working mic. In other words, don't waste your time with this mic, especially for gaming.

1. Make sure the microphone is connected to a microphone jack, not a line-in jack
2. Make sure to setup volume and othere detail settings inside the Windows mixer utility

This microphone will work with any audio applications running under Windows.

Pros: none.

Cons: Does not work, no matter what i do, i can't get a sound out of it. i just got it 5 seconds ago.

Usually, this can be fixed by visiting the computer's controller panel and clicking on the Sound Mixer. Make sure the microphone is not muted. If you still can not record your voice, please check the recording program you are using and click on the setup menu. There should be a switch to turn on the recording and/or a volume level control.

Pros: Cheap, red, and bendy.

Cons: Sounds like your holding your nose and underwater.

Pros: Very nice mic, sounds great to the people I'm talking to on Mumble. No static and picks up sound fantastically. (I do have an after market sound card, but I've used it on my laptop with great results as well).

Cons: Some times it's a bit too sensitive. It will pick up my fan noise since it sits next to my computer.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this.

Pros: Good mic for a great price. flexible neck enables easy use.

Cons: A little quiet. Have it really close to my face but seems to work fine.

Other Thoughts: i lost the stupid wind screen. It just made it quieter though.

Pros: Cheap and it works well...

Pros: The design is nice. A little light for a paper weight though.

Cons: The mic only "works" if you hold the button down while you talk. Also you must have your mouth no more than an inch away from the mic.

Other Thoughts: This is the poorest excuse for a microphone I have ever seen. There is the possibility that the mic I received was defective, but I see that there are many similar comments.

Pros: none so far...

Cons: I should have listened to the fellow who wrote the previous review. I just can't get it to work. There are no instructions, and while the thing should be super-simple, I just can't make it work. There's a button to turn it on, I assume, and I also assume that it turns "on" when you push the button down, but nothing happens. I think I'll return and get something a little more substantial, like a USB-based microphone perhaps.

Pros: Looks very nice. Weighted bottom. Great idea for wiring. Its wrapped in nylon. Nice on/off button.

Cons: It doesn't work. Well it does, but the idea behind a desktop microphone is that you don't have to shove it down your throat to have it pick up you're voice. I've checked my mic gain and and upped everything to the max. I use ventrilo for gaming, and unless I stick my mouth literally RIGHT on the mic, it will not pick up my voice. Prior to this I was using a headset for the mic only (I have wireless headphones now). The headset mic worked better while it was sitting on my desk than this thing does.

Other Thoughts: The nice weighted bottom will make a good paper weight so at least it wasn't a waste.

Pros: After one year of use this mic still works great. Nice cover for mic is easy to remove if needed.

Cons: None really. Great buy for the price

Other Thoughts: I keep the mic somewhat close to my face when I use it, but i don't really need to.
