Other Thoughts: Stand is very stable, I have a unique situation where I have the mic stand on the circle on the bottom on my desk. I do so because of the height of my monitors, but it works pretty well, so nice job Blue for not making me use the stand.

Pros: 1) Excellent mic quality. I've used this for in-game voice chat, Steam voice calls, TeamSpeak, Mumble, and Skype. Never once have I gotten a complaint of mic quality and have actually been asked a few times what mic I'm using.

2) Rugged design. This isn't made of cheap plastic and poorly insulated wiring like all the other desk mics I've used. Durable metal and plastic construction makes me not worried about accidentally bumping it.

3) The tripod it includes is durable, adjustable, and a great feature. Makes it much easier to adjust to have it right at mouth-level for better sounding audio.

4) The plug & play technology of it is stellar. I've never once had a problem with a program or game not recognizing the microphone right away, and I've never had to install any sort of driver or hotfix to get it to work.

5) The three different settings all serve their own purpose and each one works wonderfully for what they're for. Whether you're recording a podcast with multiple people or just using it for gaming it does a great job at delivering amazing results.

Cons: 1) The design of the mic itself is not very aesthetically pleasing, as a huge ball on a stick doesn't exactly scream "microphone" in everyone's eyes. Also, it's kind of large and can sometimes be hard to find a place for on the desk depending on your desk size and monitor setup.

2) The USB cable could really stand to be longer, as it's only something like 24 inches. Hard to position far away from my tower without pushing the cable to the limit.

Other Thoughts: All in all, this is a killer microphone for the price and I highly recommend it!

Screw in mic, with separate stand, so you could use the mic without the stand, or use Blue's custom snowball stand.

Cons: Stand is a little poorly done, as the rubber 'feet' seem to feel like they want to fall off.

Cable is a bit short for my needs, but for someone who will use this with a laptop, and not across a desk, its perfectly fine. You could even pick up a USB extension if you had to anyway.

Other Thoughts: I use this for Skype calls, and it picks up my voice easily, even blocking out a bit of the background noise. I've used Audacity to record my voice and see how good the quality is, and I was impressed. Very good headset, even if your going to use it to Skype, sing, do podcasts, or even play an instrument, this is a great mic to do it on.

Pros: It's everything that it says it is. No more, no less.

I believe it is the cheapest option there is in terms of "professional" quality.

Cons: Maybe the way it looks, but that's subjective. Personally it doesn't please or bother me.

Pros: Crystal clear sound, no set up, multiple settings to optimize sound capture.

Cons: Doesn't shoot lasers

Other Thoughts: The stand is a little silly looking and picks up all lower frequencies (good luck typing while recording), but with the Blue Ringer Shockmount and a stand it makes for a great addition. keep in mind, its the size of a large orange, so if size is an issue, might want to go with something smaller.

Pros: It looks very cool and very professional. I like it very much. Records sound very clearly.

Cons: You may have to yell a bit if you are going to do commentary. I strongly suggest reading the users guide before having any ideas of sending it back.

Pros: Works as well as most professional mikes three times the price. Very well-built.

Cons: Huge ball in your face exactly unobtrusive in video blogging (hurr hurr). I'd recommend a boom mike stand that comes from the floor and has a shock mount. Will pick up EVERYTHING, and the included mount does nothing for removing vibration, so if you're podcasting while typing, you'll hear it perfectly in the feed as soft thumps.

Other Thoughts: Really sturdy and well made, worked great with Linux/Audacity. This was recommended by several podcast friends, and this thing is one of those bargains

Pros: If anyone with Linux was wondering, I have Ubuntu 9.1 and it works just fine, as a USB mic with no drivers should, with no adjustments needed in terminal. You might have to open your sound preferences (in gnome-sound-recorder it's under File>Open Volume Control, or right click your volume icon on your desktop panel), click the Input tab and select the microphone from a list. Don't turn the input volume up too high, because this thing seems capable of picking up background radiation in the universe from the moment of the big bang.

I've only done a few test recordings so far, and it's definitely much nicer than my generic computer mic and my headphone-mic combo. I'm only planning to do video narration and podcasting with it, so I'm too technically informed on how well it'll handle singing, instruments, conferences, or whatever else people might be inclined to use it for.

Cons: It's uber-sensitivity might require a more sound-proofed environment for some users in noisy settings or with loud computer fans. Though turning the input volume down while recording and then boosting the levels later might help. Thankfully my pc is pretty quiet, so I'm not hearing it in the recordings with it only a couple of feet away.

Other Thoughts: I got it here on newegg while it was $20 discounted, plus free 3-Day shipping and no tax. I can't imagine a better deal for what I bought!

The mic has got a funky retro look, so you got that going for you, which is nice.

Pros: Excellent quality. Does not distort when sounds are loud. Picks up music well.

Cons: Using Windows 7 x64, the volume is so low (levels cranked to max, all options investigated, believe me) that it renders the microphone almost worthless for vocals. I have a cheap Logitech mic and the mic on the Logitech Quickcam 9000 and both of them have no problems with volume, but this microphone has trouble picking up vocals even when the mic is a foot in front of my mouth. And because it uses the native Microsoft microphone driver and comes with no software, there's no recourse for this problem and it leaves one with no option but to increase the gain in postprocessing.

All of the three microphone settings exhibit this problem. Ironically, this microphone has no boosted setting but actually has a setting that DECREASES gain.

I have tested this with two different computers and both exhibited identical results. Similar complains can be found by others online.

Other Thoughts: The quality is superb and this would be a great microphone if it didn't have a glaring and well-documented volume problem.
