1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: Looks good; compact; nice design with the magnets; Sounds decent (from one of the speakers anyways).

Cons: The plastic cap covering the 3.5mm jack detached from it when I tried to use the speakers for only the SECOND TIME! Trust me, I am no where near rough with my electronics or possessions in general.

My other big complaint is that the left speaker suffers from some crackling...

Other Thoughts: I bought this item due to the what seemed like a good design and because of the brand, remembering the days of Diamond Voodoo video cards.

If only this item was higher quality :(

2 out of 5 eggsGood sound, cheap construction

Pros: VERY good sound for the size! Nice bass, very rich. We use these for travel, or even to work in the garage.

Cons: The cable reels will eventually stop retracting or refuse to stay deployed. Our power cord won't retract anymore, and the speaker-to-speaker cord will only lock at 8 inches separation.

The tabs that hold the pop-up caps down will break one day too. The tops stay up on both of ours now.

Other Thoughts: One day they will no longer be a neat, compact unit for travel and storage, they'll have cables hanging and both caps up. They'll still sound nice, just not so travel-friendly. Be warned.

4 out of 5 eggsPay no attention to the 1 star review. Great little speakers!

Pros: Small, very portable, nice sound and loudness, good price at 18.99-20.00('cept for the 9 for shipping). Bought these mainly for my 3DS and I'm completely satisfied. Innovative and cool looking design.

The speakers connect to each other magnetically, or can be separated, and the tops open up for extra bass( just makes it a tiny bit louder, really). The magnets are cool cause you can attach the speakers to other metal to mount them.

My charge seems to last the 6-8 hours. I charged right out of the box(was done around 2pm), and had it playing music most of the day, and if it wasn't playing, it was still on to drain the battery fully once. Thing didn't die 'til the next morning/afternoon, was still on went I went to bed around 3-4am. Great charge.

Cons: You might wish they were just a little bit bigger and a little bit louder. They should make a size up and I think they would be the perfect, most satisfying mini-speakers out there. The design is innovative, but can be a bit confusing at first.

Speakers can't be separated much do to one having to be plugged into the other. There is the mentioned static when charging, but I don't care to charge and listen anyways. so not a biggie for me. Retractors feel fine to me, I'm just gentle with them. Haven't had them for that long, so we will see.

Other Thoughts: Pay no attention to the one star review. It took me a minute to figure out the charge as well, but it's nothing to one star these cool little speakers. The speakers, for both to work; there is a plug that goes from one into the other. You simply have to make sure this is plugged into the charge cable and you are good to go. There is an indicator light, goes from red to blue when done charging.

Also, with any rechargeable batteries, I suggest not using the thing right out of the box and charging it fully before use, then drain the battery completely. Probably good to do this several times, but at least one. This will guarantee your battery keeps it's max charge.

Hope I covered everything. :-)

4 out of 5 eggsI needed this speaker a long time ago.....

Pros: Great stylish design and compact size for travel and camping. I keep this in my backback and use with my mp3 player as the need arises. It really enhances my daughter's portable DVD player/LCD monitor that came with a standard dimunitive speaker. Good value at half the regular price.

Cons: None so far...

Other Thoughts: Hopefully, the thin cables and little plastic covers will standup to some repeated use.

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive!

Pros: These (adorable) little speakers put out an impressive amount of sound for being so small. The slightly rubberized surface makes them easy to grip and yet silky feeling. The magnets snap the units together firmly.
Perfect for netbooks. As someone else noted, the magnets are strong enough to hold their own weight, upside down and even sideways, though the did drift down with the vibration of producing sound. One base had stronger magnets than the other, so I suspect it may vary from unit to unit. The LED was nice and bright, red when it needs a charge, blue when it is fully charged. Volume slider covers a wide range of levels.
Sounded great playing: Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Journey, Styx, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Momas and the Papas, Lenny Kravits, Metallica, and Pink Floyd.

Cons: The retracting mechanism for the wires could be better, it hangs up and you end up pulling on them repeatedly to make them coil up... the trick seems to be to pull to the end and almost let go, rather than trying to ease the wire in.
Wires could be a little heavier duty and longer, but again, for a netbook, they are great.
They do not produce much bass, but that is to be expected from such small units.

Other Thoughts: I wish that they played through the USB charging cable, instead of taking up the headphone/line out jack. The power switch is on one unit, the volume on the other, seems strange, but not bothersome.
Over all I am very happy with these little speakers... I just wish they came in a dark blue. :-)

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Travel Speakers

Pros: Tiny speakers that put out a surprising amount of volume.

Cons: DOA, took a long time to get an RMA from Diamond.
While considering the tiny size and volume the sound quality isn't bad, it isn't hifi either.

Other Thoughts: My first unit was DOA and I couldn't send it back to Newegg because it came in on trash night and the packaging was already thrown away by the time I tested them. Diamond did RMA them, but it took a long time, it was almost 2 months purchase to working unit.

4 out of 5 eggsMobile speakers

Pros: Small, portable, rechargeable via USB(no carrying extra batteries).

Cons: Wind up VERY thin cables..don't expect to stand up to much abuse if constantly pulled and retracted..did I mention the very thin cables..would have been better design if they used or at least had option to use standard external cables..or at least redesign with more durable cabling.

Other Thoughts: Surprisingly good sound..the tops pop up with an accordion style tube, helps sound more full and lush with a hint of bass.. much better sounding then built in laptop speakers on my Asus G51J (and those are Altec Lansing). Can't comment on battery life..Overall good build quality..except for cables..I would price these slightly cheaper based on that alone..loose 1 egg

4 out of 5 eggsNeat!!!!

Pros: Small, R2D2, magnets are clever. Good sound for the size.

Cons: Cables are short. I'm not sure the storage position (locked closed) will be very durable, just have to wait and see.

Other Thoughts: Looking at other reviews, the charging is a little confusing. The USB cable connects to one speaker, it appears there is a battery in each speaker. In order to observe the "charging" lite both speakers need to be connected. Surprisingly they came with a good charge, but I topped off the charge and the "charge" lite worked as advertised

3 out of 5 eggsTiny and Convenient ..

Pros: The Diamond MSP100R Mini Rockers are very compact, and really good for when you would like tiny speaker on the go..
- All cables reel into the speakers themselves accept USB charging cable.

Cons: -Well the power it receives via USB cable is not enough to properly charge and power the speakers when at full volume over a continuous time. (The Speakers will just die out)
-Interference (Medium pitched humming noise) can be heard through the speakers when in use and charging.
-A little too small, almost gimmick like.
-Speaker to speaker cable barely long enough to travel across a 17" Laptop.

Other Thoughts: Practical use of these would be for a Ipod or a portable music device.. Though you would still need USB for recharging.
