5 out of 5 eggsUnderpriced?

Pros: Very clean highs. Powerful lows. All around clarity.

Comes with a wonderful controller unit that has separate dials for bass and volume as well as EQ, Mode, and Line In options. Very easy to use. Doesn't take up too much space. Attractive design.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I wasn't aware how subpar my old speakers were until I heard these. I honestly think they might even sound better than the Bose system in my car, which is outstanding.

Didn't know Corsair made speakers before a buddy suggested I get these when I mentioned I was looking to replace my old Logitech 5.1 setup. He got the SP2500 set after coming form the same Logitech set that I had and said that they were some of the best computer speakers he had ever heard. Very pleased that I trusted his judgement.

The only issue I have found is that switching from Late Night Mode (sub off) back to default has to be done twice to get the sub to turn back on. It's a minor annoyance that could likely be fixed with a firmware update.

5 out of 5 eggsthese are the best speakers ive ever owned

Pros: These can go as loud as anyone would need them to go and beyond, with great clarity.

the "remote" is very convenient for turning the sound up or down while the screen is fullsized in a movie or game without having to revert back to the desktop

the cables are high quality and not those cheap cables that tangle easily.

Cons: no cons

Other Thoughts: more than happy with these speakers.

1 out of 5 eggsDefect in Corsair speakers

Pros: Will work for a while.

Cons: Corsair speakers have an inherent defect where the left speaker will start to crackle like static after 1-2 years of use, first identified in the SP2200. I contacted them about this and was told my warranty expired. You can google it, there is DIY out there about how to take them apart as a workaround.

I've looked through the comments here, some folks are experiencing the same. I wouldn't pay $250 for speakers that were not going to work in two years. Speakers should last forever if you don't blow them.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself some cash and get the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 for $149. I have a pair of those as well and never had a problem. I regret purchasing Corsair speakers, and will never do so again.

5 out of 5 eggs3-1/2 Years Strong

Pros: Loud. Real loud. Much much louder than you think it will be.
Punchy bass with clear highs.
Seriously, if you live in an apartment complex your neighbors, and possibly their neighbors, are going to NOT LIKE YOU!

Cons: Older models are famous for control unit failure.

Other Thoughts: On/Off button failed on mine after about two years.
Corsair cross-shipped a replacement without even running an authorization on my credit card.
Driving mine with an Asus 7.1 soundcard using its graphic equalizer.
Great product even at $250.

Cons: left speaker died after about a year and a half

Other Thoughts: for 250 bucks this speaker system should be built to last at least 5 years not 2 if your lucky

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound

Pros: Great sound, even at the lowest volume settings.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I've looked at other systems and those with just 2 speakers (no subwoofer). Without jumping up a tier in price to something costing 2x as much, this seems to be the best product in this price range.

I realize others have had issues after 1-1 1/2 years of ownership, which ties into my biggest complaint/fear with this unit. It is extremely easy to leave this running if your PC isn't actively playing sound. I get up and walk away from my PC all the time and forget to turn this off. Part of me wonders, if some of the issues that are experienced after 1-1.5 years aren't from the same thing - essentially having this unit run 24x7 (even if no sound is playing).

Yes you've read about it in other reviews, but the subwoofer is bigger than you'd think. If you're worried about space - measure first.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Great sound, best PC sounding system out there

Cons: On my 2nd one. 1st failed after 1 1/2 years. Woofer just died. Power or crossover no idea. RMA shipping is cost prohibitive. Bought a refurb replacement direct from Corsair. 2nd one was dead on arrival. At this point decided to see if 1could be made from 2. The refub crossover had caught fire and actually melted the subwoofer speaker connector. Smelled nothing when it was first turned on so I think it came that way.

Other Thoughts: If you want this speaker system research first on issues. Plenty out there.

4 out of 5 eggsDemanding midrange

Pros: 3-way system: Tweeters, midrange and subwoofer.
Clarity at high levels, powerful, high noise floor
Bi-amped with (for me) ample cable lengths
Great detail and separation

Cons: Muddy, muffled midrange if the card or amp is not up to the task.

Other Thoughts: I read and watched a lot of great reviews before purchasing this speaker system. To my dismay I found the mids to be recessed, muddy and muffled. I read that this speaker system would underperform if run straight off the motherboard therefore requiring a descent sound card. I have a Sound Blaster Zx which I thought would be good enough but it wasn't. Thought then that the speakers just needed some burn in but after many hours of that, no improvement. So there I sit all disappointed and for other reasons came home with an Asus Essence III pre-amp DAC (not a sound card, look it up). Hooked the Asus up via RCA-outs to the RCA-ins on the woofer. NOW the SP2500 is rockin' like crazy. The mids are back up front where they should be and sound great at both low and high volume. No distortion and a very high noise floor which means no hiss from the speakers unless you put the SP2500 volume control over 80-85% (I use the amp for volume control). So if you get this speaker system, either have a sound card with better amplification than SB Zx (maybe an Asus card?) or an external amplifier. Now I'm really enjoying the SP2500.

5 out of 5 eggsJust buy it ya dingus

Pros: Gosh dang it these speakers are straight fire. Buy these cause they are the only choice. They sound fantastic, look pretty sick, and corsair is just an all around high quality company. They even replaced a broken part for me after I lost proof of purchase which was dope. Anyway stop reading this and go buy those puppies.

Cons: None, they're actually perfect.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: These speakers sound awesome...great separation/ampflication...

Cons: None so far, worried about cranking them too high for too long.

Other Thoughts: They seem very sturdy, but I have seen some bad reviews. We'll see in the long run how they perform. For now they're A-OK
