5 out of 5 eggsLove em' Recommended

Pros: I really love how these speakers reproduce sound! Hands down the best 2.1 speakers my ears have ever had the pleasure of hearing. The clarity of the sound through this systems separate amps really makes a difference. Corsair has set the bar high with these speakers. The control fob is really snappy, my old Logitech's 5.1 fob was sluggish to respond and would always over or under correct in the settings. Also the built in audio processing is a nice feature set that works well. I love the FTC rated continuous RMS power, my old Logitech system would really hit hard but it would overheat and I could smell it burning after a half hour at high volume. I had these cranked for hours and no odd smells or sound distortion. I have no regrets buying this system and would purchase it for another computer.

Cons: Its not 5.1 but for a 2.1 system it exceeds expectations.
No fiber inputs but I don't use them.
A bit pricey but you pay for quality. Too many times I've wasted money on cheap products that are sub par.

Other Thoughts: I want this in a 5.1 system, Please Corsair! =)
It would be nice to see that 8 inch sub thrashing around outside the box but i suppose it was designed to be totally enclosed in the box. Heck if its needed for quality you guys made the right choice. Overall sound quality is superb but not so ascetically flashy. I think anyone would want a system that functions at a high level rather than one that looks flashy and sounds bad.

5 out of 5 eggsBig bark and bigger bite

Pros: The speakers are nice for their size and do very well for a two speaker set up, the sub woofer is mostly balanced and can adjust nicely to different bass. Overall happy with purchase.

Cons: Texture layer on sub woofer box peels slightly on the edges if you keep messing with it but nothing to dock an egg off for since you shouldn't touch it much once calibrated and placed into the sweet spot.

3 out of 5 eggsGood speakers but poor support policy

Pros: These are good speakers. They sound good. I think they sounded a little better after breaking in so don't judge them on your initial hearing. The control pod is very handy. I like them a lot.

Cons: One speaker now drops sound often now. I think it has to do with the cables. Corsair is willing to replace them which is good but their support is terrible.

They usually take 5 or more days to respond to a question. I've been waiting at least 2 weeks since I requested a cable and they haven't shipped it yet; they said they can though.

Other Thoughts: Good speakers. Worst support response time I've ever seen.

If the cable connector is wearing out because the weight of the cable is pulling on it too much, they should put a hook on the speaker to take the weight off the connector. Silly issue.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing work of engineering!

Pros: Accurate

Basically Zero distortion, even at high volume.

Solid build quality

Stereo Imaging is amazing

remote (with SUB gain)

Cons: 1st Set that arrived was faulty. One of the Mids made a slight vibration noise at certain frequencies. newegg paid return shipping and sent another set out ASAP. due to the return time line (about 2 weeks) i lost out on the Mail in rebate, but to be honest after hearing these i felt bad paying anything less than "Retail sticker price". they are just that good...

Other Thoughts: I did my research for about 2 weeks on what set of speakers i was going to get. ( i was actually mostly looking at Studio monitors) and i have to say This set is the closest you will come to the original sound the sound engineer want the listener to hear without spending $1000 on a 2.1 studio monitor setup. I could have gotten a pair of smaller powered monitors (KRKs, M-Audio, etc) for about the same price, that would have been slightly more accurate but i would have almost no low end going that route. most of the Music i listen to has a lot of sub 120hz sound. so i needed a SUB.

this set up can get loud! And i mean LOUD!

you can just crank this thing up and it doesn't care. it just gets louder and louder without distorting all the way to MAX VOL. on EVERY stereo i've ever owned there has always been a point where you hit the limit of the Amp or extrusion of the drivers etc, and you have to back the volume down a bit to go back into the optimum range of the equipment. well.... not these. seriously... they spent a lot of time engineering this setup, they married a lot of the components on purpose to complement each other and it shows.

however this set up is not without its limits.

the mids can be a tad on the lighter side. this is to be expected with such small mid drivers, but they are in no way hollow or missing. classical, symphony, Metal and Rock all still sound amazingly accurate on this set up with little to no fiddling with your EQ.

one more Rarely seen limitation is the SUB can make some port noise with "fast" bass (kind of hard to explain). i've even heard the sub fall almost flat on a few songs at certain volumes. its mostly to do with the SUB Enclosure design. But, it has only happened to a handful of songs so far and i listen to just about every genre of music except for Country and R&B.

I simply can't explain how good these sound and "sound" is one of those things that subjective. when i started hooking everything up my wife just rolled her eyes like she does every time i get excited over a "new toy" but when i turned them up she came over, listened for a few seconds and yelled over the music "can we get another set for the TV!?! so non techie wife approves too!

all in all if you do your research and know what you're buying you will not be disappointed. At $250 nothing touches this set up!

TIP: keep the sound field on "None" and the EQ on "Classical". the only thing you will EVER need to adjust is the Volume and SUB gain.

5 out of 5 eggsMind = Blown

Pros: So, coming from a 5.1 Logitech Setup (MX540 I Think) I wasn't expecting too much. Let me tell you what, THESE.THINGS.ROCK. Personally, I like a lot of bass, rock, pop, rap, whatever. These things deliver and FAR exceed my expectations. They blow my 5.1 Logitechs out of the water. The Sub is 3 times the size (It's a big sub, so make sure and measure) Paired with my Creative Sound Blaster Z, I can go as much bass as I want and there is ZERO distortion, and it actually doesn't drown out the crisp clear treble. It also has a handy dandy wired remote that has multiple settings for gaming, listening, and late nights when you don't want to annoy your neighbors. Totally worth the money.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks just fine - Sounds Great !

Pros: Worked fine out of the box. Easy to assemble. Sounds great.

Cons: After the purchase, I found it 20 bucks cheaper on Ama__zon. I just spent 15 mins filling out the rebates forms and a dollar on postage for the $20 dollar rebate credit card.

Other Thoughts: I like the wired remote controller. Makes volume control very easy.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible!

Pros: Simply put, these are absolutely incredible! I'm a huge audiophile, and sound matters. I saw that these only had an 8" subwoofer, however the subwoofer box is bandpass, so I had doubts yet high hopes. The Bass shakes my room. I can blast bassy trapt music at the highest setting, and there is no distortion and the bass is every where!

Cons: The Satellites could have been given a more attractive design then what they have, but not a problem

Other Thoughts: These are amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsBest 2.1 Sound System Ever!

Pros: Amazing sound quality. Cable construction excellent and durable. I've had other nice sound systems with cabling connectors sub par causing issues after a while but none here! I don't think there is a better value vs performance out there!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Don't really need the EQ settings on the controller if you have a decent sound card (or integrated) with a nice software EQ.

5 out of 5 eggsLook No Further... Even the 'Mail-Man' wants them!

Pros: It's not just that it's loud, alot of setups are loud. What this 2.1 system has going for it is that the audio is Clean, Crisp, and Clear WHILE being extremely loud. I don't want to listen to noise, I want to listen to music, footsteps/explosions in games, and every moment of a movie. I want to do this with a good frequency response, crisp highs, and a ton of bass...and the SP2500 has met those needs.

Even the local 'Mail-Man' was so impressed, he wanted to take a look at what was rocking and picked up a set himself. The speakers literally sell themselves.

TBH, sound is subjective, what sounds good to you may not sound good to someone else. With that being said, I would still definitely recommend the SP2500 for anyone who either wants, too much bass, crisp highs, broad mids, small satellite size, or all of the above. Of course if you just want QUALITY Bass, not just the ability to turn it up, you get that too.

I can get down to 34Hz of realistic bass, meaning I can still hear it when listening to music. It will go lower, but only to say that it can, it's not usable in any form what-so-ever.

Speakers are "Bi-Amplified". This means that the tweeters, and the drivers in the satellites are on different amps. The quality difference it brings is very noticeable and greatly appreciated. (of course the sub is supplied it's own power separately as well)

Everything is well constructed and built to last, I plan on enjoying these for many years. Nothing rattles, or creeks, even when using the little 'desk-stands' that come with it to angle it upwards your ears.

The satellites cable length is good (6ft/1.8m) for putting on a desk. Some people complain about the cable length for their application, but there IS a Solution. The connectors used for the satellites are standard ATX 4-pin (CPU) connectors, and even the "Control Pod" uses a standard VGA/DSUB connection. So all you need to do is get a couple of extension cables of desired length and you're good to go! Pfft...cable problems...What cable problems?

The Control Pod works well. You get great control and easy access to your audio. There is a 3.5mm Headphone jack and a 3.5mm AUX connector on the 'CP'. So you can use your 2.1 to listen to your iPod/etc. without the need to turn on your PC.

All I can really say is that I'm completely satisfied and love my new setup. If you're in the market, you can't go wrong, the next step-up from these would be Home-Theater. (Yes I'd recommend the SP2500 for your TV as well, if you don't want 5.1, can't afford a huge setup, or don't have the space)

Cons: Proprietary Controls. I love the control pod, its fantastic, but manual volume control on the main unit/sub would've been a nice backup option. Not a big deal though.

Other Thoughts: Packaging was well thought out. I'm always concerned when ordering something like this or a case regardless of the seller/shipper/manufacturer. I know that things will get tossed about and accidents happen as well, but once I opened the package I knew everything was fine without the need to plug them in or inspect for defects. Corsair wanted them to get to your door in the same condition they left their factory in regardless of the obstacle. For that I'm very grateful, peace-of-mind is a wonderful gift.
