HP Scanjet G3110 L2698A Up to 4800 dpi 48bit USB Interface Photo Scanner

Pros: The capacity for scanning slides, negatives, photos and documents to pdf. It produces excellent quality with no graininess or glass reflection.
I love the adaptable lid for larger books and find the software to be excellent.

Cons: The lid buttons are connected with a short white cacle which can come loose after multiple opening and closings. Needs to be checked regularly.

Other Thoughts: I just bought a second one to increase my slides scanning from 4 to 8 and for more efficient use of my time.

Pros: Relatively cheap.
Friendly service (it's not the service tech's fault that they have to provide support for an inferior product)

Cons: Although the scanner was supposed to work with Win 7, after spending a total of 8 hrs with tech support (on the phone and on chat), they still could not get it working.

Other Thoughts: I decided to cut my losses, threw the brand new HP G3110 scanner away, and bought a different brand scanner. The new scanner installed in 10 min and works flawlessly :)

Pros: none

Cons: Hp has a history of dropping driver support in future windows editions. Beware

Pros: If you have a ton of pictures that you need to scan, this unit will work well for you. It's very fast and produces great looking pictures.

Cons: This unit will also scan negatives and slides. If this is what you want to do, I would suggest looking for something else. I've gone through 2 different units within 2 weeks. After the scanner previews what it's scanning, everything is black, even though the back light is on. I'm returning the second one and getting my money back.

Pros: This is a great scanner; especially for the price.

Cons: The software has some glitches, but still works well.
