Works well; glad I got it
Pros: I was a bit leery of buying a scanner with only one online review, but my experiences with the HP 6010 had been good -- until the incident I'll relate below under 'other thoughts' -- and so I decided to spring for this one. I'm glad I have it. I regularly feed in slightly crumpled sheets of papers in stacks, and this scanner rarely chokes on them. Better, the new software doesn't make me repeat a scan if I get a jam ... I can pull out the offending sheet of paper and pick up where I left off.
Cons: (1) The price.
Other Thoughts: I bought this because a teeny-weeny rubber part fell out of my old HP 6010, rendering it useless. This isn't a beef about the 7000, but consider the frustration of a modern user. I knew that only that rubber part needed replacing, and also knew that figuring out how to replace it and finding someone who could would be prohibitively time-consuming and expensive. So: new scanner, and adios nearly nine hundred bucks.

Pros: It works and it works VERY well. It doesn't jamb for one. If you do things like scan documents that have say a check taped to the paper you have to make sure to uncheck Multiipic. It will otherwise detect the difference in friction and interpret that as a jamb as all other HP document feeders will. If you get some tape or something pealed off on the inside you can open it up with the press of a button and clean it up REALLY easy.
Cons: None. GO AND BUY THIS ONE NOW!!!
Other Thoughts: Why can't all the HP document scanners work this well. The 8000 and 5000 series of scanner HP makes are horrible at document feeding. The motor in the ADF on the 8000's tends to go out and the PSU also tends to burn out. It is picky about how you feed paper in and after a year it gets REALLY finicky though I have only gone through four of those. The 5550 and 5590s though are just junk they will start jamming about a week out of the box and fail about a week or two after the warranty has run out. I have worked with at least 12 of these and only two haven't had major issues but I think that is because those departments don't have much that needs to be scanned.
