Pros: Excellent scanner all around. Great color quality, could use slightly better light control, but the Epson software is pretty decent and gives you a decent amount of control over everything. You can always scan directly into photoshop as well.
Scans @ 300 DPI relatively quickly (never timed it, but it's at least 2x as fast as any other cheap scanner I've used).
It was also CHEAP AS DIRT! And has a great build quality!
Cons: Scanner is a little bit slow to start up.
Other Thoughts: Wasn't free?

Pros: Pretty good price considering the age of the technology. At 300 dpi its very quick and quiet scanning. Software took a while to install for some reason but its easy to use once you get it on there.
Cons: at 1200 dpi it takes a while to scan an image (even if its amazing looking afterward it doesnt justify over a minute for an 8.5x11 page). Should be cheaper since flatbed scanning has been around for over 20 years.
Other Thoughts: My dad got a umax astra 1200 usb 1.0 scanner back in the 90's and it was 120bucks back then... why does this one that does the same resolution cost 80 bucks 20 years later?

Pros: Super simple install don't hate just buy it!
Cons: The usb and power cable are preaty short and positioned very weird check that out before buying.
Other Thoughts: Could use a better program for xp users it pretty weird to scan thru computer and not just hitting button.

Pros: Absolutly love this little guy. Scans fast and easy, and is very high quality. I use it to scan photo's mostly and have done some great resto projects with it. the 4800dpi is perfect. its also slim and fits on my desk nicely.
Cons: honestly there isn't any. Wish the bed was bigger, but I knew the size when I got it.

Pros: Easy to use. Decent included scanning software.
Cons: Sometimes it can take a while to find the correct setting to help bring out faded text, but that isn't really a scanner problem.

Pros: I've owned this since Dec 2009 and it's still working like a new one.
Scans fast when compared with scan quality.
I love the feature where you can scan multiple pictures at once and it separates them automatically into separate jpeg's. Saves a lot of time.
I've scanned 1000+ pictures dating from the 1800's to the present with little issue.
I got mine for $50.
Cons: It's not any quieter than my previous Canon Lide flatbeds. I can't think of anything else to knock...
Other Thoughts: It tries to figure out the upright position of the scans by comparing the contrast of the top and bottom of the pictures...So sky is generally lighter than the ground meaning it predicts the orientation correctly. Sometimes in pictures this is not the case which means I have to manually rotate the picture and save once scanned.

Pros: Works as it says. if your going to do very high res yes its going to be slow if doing normal res fast I had a big job to scan got it done in 30 min.
