5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Use these in clinics and other medical offices for daily scanning. Will pull multiple sheets if they aren't fanned a bit. Quality is great, images look great. Cheap maint. kit (roller).

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Compared to the 40ppm scanners, these are great for light/moderate use. I actually bought one to scan photographs in large batches and it works awesome for that. Scans faster than I can feed them!

5 out of 5 eggsAdequate for home use

Pros: Very Fast scanner for the use (speed of feed + speed of display)! Acrobat Standard 9 provided as well.

Cons: Somewhat confusing installation, but the how-to guide could be a little bit more straightforward. Still, once everything is laid out, great scanner!

Other Thoughts: The installation guide is a little confusing (some of it my own fault in hindsight). Order of installation: 1) image Formula DR_2010C CD (make sure you check for driver updates online); 2) image Formula App Software CD; 3) Acrobat Standard 9 DVD; 4) attach scanner after putting in roller. Then start using Capture Perfect, it is really that easy!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very quick setup and installation. Easy to use software. Scans quickly and with good image quality. Intergrated well with our other software programs.

Cons: If you put more then 6-7 pages in the feeder at once it likes to take them all at one time and jam. You can put 5-6 pages and then keep feeding it in smaller batches.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this scanner to anyone for business or personal use. Great product for the money. We did a lot of shopping before buying this product. We bought 4 of them for the office.

Pros: Fast, economical, easy to use

Cons: It does draw more than 1 page at a time if it is dirty. But very easy to clean.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Scanner

Pros: Supports Twain...We run a half dozen of these on a network running Terminal Services. Users scan documents into their proprietary software. Really don't have any issues, silly stuff mostly the users. Customer has scanned dozens of file boxes worth of info. No complaints :)

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsCall Canon Support with setup issues

Pros: Scanner is faster and easier to use than I would have thought - once you get it set up. Load pages, click and off it goes. It will scan documents straight to your e-mail so they are already there as attachments. Amazingly fast with quality that is plenty good for most e-mail attachments. Small and good looking on the desk.

Cons: Installation software has a glitch in the setup sequence that the instructions and the operator's manual doesn't explain. Even after setup completion and the unit is installed in windows XP, the Capture Perfect software won't recognize it. If you follow the prompts you will not get this installed even after 5~6 times!! Canon support will walk you through and it's so easy I don't know why they can't put the steps in instructions. Just call them and you will be in business in about 5 minutes.

Feed roller seems to be a replacement item and the reason some folks complain about this pulling more than 1 page at a time. It may make sense to get a spare roller for heavy users.

Other Thoughts: I took one egg off due to the installation issues. Drove me nuts for a few hours but I'm one of those guys who won't give in and ask for help.

I had decided to wait for a Fujitsu Scan Snap to go on sale but this was heavily discounted and was about $100.00 cheaper. This is used to scan documents for e-mail attachments in our office and for the money we couldn't be happier. It's compact, closes up with a small footprint when not in use, and is easy for everyone to use. Seems like a lot of money for these things when you see the size but the performance makes it all ok.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small size, good price point.

Cons: I bought two of them, both has problem with paper feed. Always draws more than teo pages. Called Canon support. They walked me through the cleaning of the roller, it worked for 2-3 times but same problem again. So it is useless unless I want to scan one page at a time.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 of canon DR-2050C, bought at different times from newegg. Works great, never had feeder problem, Smaller footprint but about $200 more than DR-2010C

4 out of 5 eggsSix months on

Pros: Fast, great contrast, small file sizes, good color, decent OCR, twain driver, capture perfect software is very good (once you get to know it), small size, build quality, and did I mention fast?

Cons: Occasionally pulls more than one page at a time, but nothing like the experience the other review had where he/she has to feed it one page at a time (I routinely run 10-25 page documents through this baby without issues most of the time - be sure to clean the rubber roller with a very lightly moistened wash cloth from time to time to get rid of dust and film). Biggest con is that you can only get what I would call acceptable quality with the capture perfect software. I use nothing else anymore; I don't ever use the twain driver I bought it for. The three buttons work, but also, I never use them anymore. I don't know how the capture perfect software works, but the quality from it is excellent. The scans are washed out, fuzzy, LARGE, and just not as good if you, for example, scan directly into acrobat using the twain driver. Try it, the results just aren't the same, even after lots of software tweaking.

Other Thoughts: I wrote a review for this product on 04 November 2008. I have moderated my opinion of this scanner now, and only give it four stars. To be honest, I do think I would have enjoyed another Fujitsu just as much. I use the scanner extensively (three our four days a week), and it is a great product. My biggest complaint now is the paper feed. While you can't expect this kind of scanner to always feed property, it has moved into the category of "annoying" for me. I think the Fujitsu I had several years ago was less problematic in this area, but also pulled multiple pages from time to time. If you buy any of these scanners, you just have to accept that the pulling of multiple pages is going to happen, period. Just learn your software and establish an efficient way of dealing with that troublesome document this scanner wants to pull through multiple pages at a time. I recommend this scanner.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost Great

Pros: Great scan quality and a lot of options to achieve it. Bundled Acrobat Standard is a great bonus. File sizes of scanned documents are very small which saves on storage space. Duplex Scanning.

Cons: Sheet feeder vent bad very quickly. I have to feed sheets one by one or it will pull them all in, no mater how many sheets there are. No support from Cannon, you're pretty much stuck if you have any issues with the scanner, not even an online FAQ.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for for the terrible feeder problems it would be an amazing scanner, but considering the problems I'm having with the feeding of documents I can not reccomend this scanner to anyone who has to scan a lot of mulit-page documents. You will end up feeding the scanner page by page all the time.
