Pros: Comes with alot of software and is a great scanner under the $500 range! You people need to see that these come with Nuance Ecopy Pro Office Scan Software. The software alone is worth $200 for one license ! That is what you use to create and edit and name docs on the fly. It is the best software in the world for document management.

Call support or learn about your product more and you will love these. Canon and Fujitsu lead the Scanner Market and Canon is Number 1 so please install ecopy and learn how to use it. You will love it!

Cons: Some learning curve to high tech Nuance ecopy software but worth it. More help in the box so consumers do not miss that software would be best. The other software can be lite versions or small apps.

Pros: Scans fast. Option to direct output to your desk or not is nice.

Cons: The OnScan software is terrible. Setup is tedious and options are named poorly so finding specific settings was difficult. Renaming a file on the fly is impossible. If you want the option to rename the file before saving, you have to go through a wizard like interface, name the file and then it forces you to finish the wizard before you can start scanning again. It would be much easier if the software prompted me for the name. This is easily done with other scanners we have used.

Other Thoughts: Good scanner but software makes it difficult to work quickly.

Pros: Very fast. I think it has a great look. I didn't think I'd care but I really like the WYSIWYG feature where you can see what you are about to scan when it's loaded in the feeder.

Cons: Not really a con but it's louder than I thought and has a distinctive mechanical sound; I'm used to my previous Cannon scanner which had that slow MMMMMMMMMMM sound. Also not a con but worth mentioning is to scan longer paper you need to extend guids that really remind me of a Transformer Robot and the final ones are two whiskers that just look silly.

Other Thoughts: This is a great unit; I recommend it highly.

Pros: Very nice copies with my mac. Better at vertical lines than my scansnap. Works with mac and pc.

Cons: Page manager software sucks. I haven't tried the pc software yet. It's a little tricky to get the customs settings right.

Other Thoughts: Got this to scan with my mac since my scansnap only works with a pc. The canon makes better looking scans on auto setting, but the files can be large. It has tons of settings that can be tweaked, however this requires a lot of trial and error. The scansnap has fewer settings and scans a little better at defalt text only. However, every other scan on the canon is better. You can get the same text only scan on the canon but it's more work until you find the settings that you like. Also, vertical lines come out pretty straight on the canon. Much improved over the scansnap. Overall I like this scanner better than the Snapscan. I just wish it came with better software.
