Card Scanner 100
- Pros: Install Easy
- Cons: Horrible scan quality. Multiple lines though the scan and I have received 2 of them. Both having the same problem.
Ok, for the price.
- Pros: Visioneer CardReader 100
I go back a long time with Visioneer and have longed for their card reader software from the mid-ninety’s. This part is very similar and the software looks like it. But, it does work. The calibration paper has little marks on the top and you scan it in with the white side down. Then you scan in the Business Card face down. It is a black and white scanner.
I would have to give it between 3 and 4 stars because it does work and does a pretty good job doing an OCR and entering the data into a database. The self-edit also works and with a little practice it gets easier.

You have to hold the business card on the right side face down and keep it there. If it wiggles a little it leaves a black line at the top or somewhere around the card that the auto-cleanup does not fix. There are no edit-the-graphics tools that I have found yet.
Also, another problem is the speed and starting the scan. The software starts storing data as soon as the card engages. If it does not move through cleanly there will be a gap at the first of the card and the scan is useless.
- Other Thoughts: Priced right with a new egg discount. Needs color support and support for Windows 7.
Not worth purchasing
- Pros: Small, easy to install
- Cons: Makes lots of errors in reading cards, is very finicky in the way it must be fed cards and takes a long time to recover from simple misfeeds.
- Other Thoughts: Took same batch of 70 business cards and placed in a general purpose scanner with feed tray and worked better in all regards. (Fujitsui Fi-5120c). Admittedly the Fujitsui is more expensive BUT it isn't explicitly designed for business cards.

Introduction
