Cut your desktop clutter with the touch of a button. The Xerox DocuMate 262i quickly turns a stack of papers into digital documents that can be filed, searched, e-mailed and more. A hi-speed USB 2.0, duplex color scanner, it can handle everything from plastic ID cards and checks to legal-sized and other long documents. And it takes up no more space than your average desktop printer.

The DocuMate 262i scans up to 38 pages per minute in duplex mode at 200dpi resolution in B&W, includes a 50-page automatic document feeder and can achieve image scans at up to 600dpi resolution and 48-bit color depth, so you get sharp images without the loss of fine details. Dual scan heads scan both sides of a page simultaneously, creating up to 76 images per minute.

The scanner incorporates Visoneer's OneTouch technology for eliminating multiple steps in sending scanned documents to predetermined applications or devices. The scanner offers a professional software bundle that includes Kofax VirtualReScan that provides such capabilities as auto-exposure and wide angle de-skew. VRS also helps improve the accuracy of recognition software, thereby reducing the need for manual correction of intelligent character recognition and OCR results. It also ships with advanced ISIS and TWAIN drivers allowing the 262i to communicate with advanced electronic content management (ECM) software applications.

We ordered 8 other fi-6130's about the same time, all been working without a problem... so far. Easy to unjam. Small footprint. Cons: Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Other Thoughts: Great software bundle. I use paperport for all of my scanning. They just ( a couple of weeks ago) came out with a new version but I don't know if that version is included with the scanner. Did you find this review helpful? Reviews are great, but the product I received was defective out of the box and would not work properly with any of the software products provided. Cons: Product defective out of the box. Appears to scan all pages and reports an non-existent paper jam repeatedly, or that the document exceeds the program limits.
