5 out of 5 eggsWorkgroup Class

Pros: INCREDIBLE SCANNER - this unit is used bedind a KeySpan server to support scanning for a SIX USER scenario. the scanner is centrally located and works like a charm. scanning is reliable and fast, i have not had to reboot any of the components involved in over 6 months, it just works.

Cons: none ant all!!!

Other Thoughts: Comes with 6 copies of Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.0 - great!

5 out of 5 eggsBest investment I ever made

Pros: This scanner is great! I do computer tech support and saw different generations of the same model at hospitals, financial advisors, and other paper-intensive environments where time is more valuable than the equipment. I was hesitant to buy one for my home office, because of the higher price. After using it, I will never go back to my old, slow multi-function. In fact, I bought a shredder to keep next to the scanner and am going paperless. I scan documents to PDF, then shred them. It's as fast as paper filing, but does require more software. The small footprint is also very nice.

Cons: None. This is one of the few products I would recommend unconditionally.

Other Thoughts: In hindsight, I should have bought the model with the flatbed scanner built in. Some things, just don't fit through the feeder.

5 out of 5 eggsPleased

Pros: FAST. Especially at 300 DPI GrayScale. Have scanned all my notebooks from college in no time at all. Was using a flatbed to do the same job before and with this I cut days into minutes. Scanning to PDF is easy.

Cons: The software and usability of the manuals included is ok but nothing superb. It will skew the paper slightly and I have been unable to get the feature that detects and corrects skews to work. It's only 4-5 degrees, and I am only doing this to get rid of boxes and boxes of paperwork, so no biggie for me.

Other Thoughts: Acrobat requires that you register in order to use the software after 30 days which is annoying. It's expensive but I've seen nothing that can compare with it in it's price category so I would definitely buy again. I am hoping that I can get rid of the Acrobat software and replace it with something more friendly. Luckily, this model is not locked into a particular software package, so I should be able to use something from the open source community.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW We All love it

Pros: The 8 functions make this and the fujitsu docuscan make this thing AMAZING. You can set it up to scan and close out the program all with out any user interaction on the computer. I loveeee this thing. So fast, so easy to use.

ADOBE ACROBAT 8! Full version included for free, WOW!!!!!

Cons: Sometimes we get multi-feed detections when there really isn't one. Not really a big deal though.

Also when there is a multi-feed detected there is no way to just tell it to delete the last page and have it continue after you remove the paper and put it back in. You either have to start all over or use acrobat to combine the two separate files.

Other Thoughts: This is the best money you'll ever spend on a piece of equipment. We bought it for our office which scans about 1000 pages a day, sometimes 5,000 if we're archiving. It is flawless. I want to buy one for myself at home. It's soooo small too

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This unit is quick and has jammed only twice in over 50,000 copies. It is easy to use and the software that comes with it is pretty straight forward.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: The office voted this the best hardware purchase of 2007

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Scanner

Pros: 250,000 + sheets so far and no problems. I have worked with many different types of scanners and Fujitsu has always been the best, in my opinion.

Cons: Burns through rollers fairly quick, but thats really an issue with the consumables, not the scanner itself.

Other Thoughts: Buy it!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but

Pros: Good Price. Small, fast, duplex, color scanner. Easy setup.

Cons: Bad software. If you use included software, it scans extremely slow. You have to purchase an ISIS software like Quickscan Pro 1 (four hundred +) for it to truely speed.

Other Thoughts: Figure another four hundred to this price and you're in business. Still a good deal and as always, Newegg has the best price.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Scan directly to PDF at lightning speed. Simple operation and settings. It was easy to get it up and running. Great overall performance.

Cons: Price tag. Newegg was kind to me on price due to some circumstances, but it isn't cheap for a small business.

Other Thoughts: If you're going 'paperless' this is the scanner for you. We love it. I have had a couple of other scanners over the years, the 5120 is now our gold standard. I used a plustek for a year or so and had to have it warranty serviced 2 times in that time. Speed, function and overall dependability of the Plustek was terrible. The fujitsu didn't have to do much to eclipse the plustek, but if i had never had that point of reference i would still find the fujitsu amazing.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: all i have ever had to do is clean the scanner glass and rarely blow out paper dust. very good product. most of my stores actually have the 4120c some have the 5120c

Cons: the prescriptions on a doctor pad are held together by glue that glue remains on the prescriptions and because of the heat of the bulb are transfered to the scanner. if the bulb didn't run so hot perhaps i wouldn't have this problem.

Other Thoughts: we use these for prescription archival i have at least 2 or 3 in 25 stores most are 4120c some are 5120c
