Scan like there's no tomorrow with Fujitsu's FI-6240 document scanner. This high speed unit can handle 60ppm/120ipm in monochrome and grayscale modes. It barely slows down for color zipping through 40ppm/80ipm. It is a good thing that there is an automatic document feeder or even the fastest hands in the west wouldn't be able to keep up. A letter sized flatbed lets you scan books, cards and fragile documents.

The scanner has multiple technologies to ensure consistent, quality scans. Paper Protection detects when a jam is about to happen and stops scanning so documents don't get torn. The Intelligent MultiFeed function ignores photos or sticky notes so there aren't "false positives" about multiple sheets.

You can connect the scanner to your system with either an Ultra SCSI or USB 2.0 cable. Once there you can use the full versions of Kofax VRS Professional or Adobe Acrobat Standard to manipulate and save the document.

  • newegg Performance The Fujitsu fi-6240 features a high scan rate of up to 40ppm in color and 60ppm in monochrome and ultrasonic double feed detection for super-fast, accurate scanning.
  • newegg Duplex Scanning The Fujitsu fi-6240 scanner scans both sides of a document at a time for doubled efficiency.
  • newegg Automatic Document Feeder The Fujitsu fi-6240 scanner features a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) that continuously sends documents for scanning without any manipulation during the process.
  • newegg USB 2.0 and Ultra SCSI Interfaces The Fujitsu FI-6240 features USB 2.0 and Ultra SCSI interfaces for high-speed data transfer and expanded compaibility.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: We used this scanner on the job today for the first time, we scanned about 3000 documents without a single jam. Its fast, quiet and the VRS software that integrates into windows explorer is really easy to use. No problems installing on vista machines. Flawless. I love fujitsu & newegg

Cons: need a faster computer!

Other Thoughts: During every batch, after about 15-20 documents have been passed through, we started to get lags, where it would take closer to 2 seconds a page. We are assuming this is actually our computers fault trying to de-skew, de-speckle, and enhance all these images at the same time and the computer gets bogged down. After the batch is done, the computer chuggs along for another 20 seconds preparing the data. (Turion 64 X2 1.8 Ghz, 2 gigs memory, geforece 6150 graphics)... So we assume we need a more powerful computer & especially graphics card, and the computer is the bottle neck of the operation. Im blaming most of it on the graphics because our other server (Athlon X2 5000, 2 gigs, ATI 2100) also chugged, that processor isnt exactly slow, so I assume a lot of the hassle gets thrown to the graphics chip. These being integrated cards didn't handle it that well, We'll have to try cranking up their memory i guess for now.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and quiet

Pros: Scans are fast. The drivers are pretty solid. They are versatile enough for odd page sizes, and as and added bonus, they can scan insurance cards and laminated IDs.

Cons: Nothing much.

Other Thoughts: I now have 10 of these in my medical centers. They have held up pretty well, when compared to the other brands we have tried.
