Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Deluxe Bundle Sheet-Fed Scanner with Rack2 Filer Version

Pros: The speed and accuracy is amazing. Small footprint and light weight makes it very portable. The deluxe bundle is worth the small difference in price if your goal in to create categorized, searchable files. The individual apps would cost almost as much as the bundle.

Cons: Can't really think of any. You could read some of the more negative reviews to see if the is an issue that would affect the way you plan to use this scanner.

Other Thoughts: One thing I've addressed is the output. Get an 8.5 X 11" and/or 8.5 X 17" box 2" to 3"s deep. Any deeper and the pages will curl. Find something just a little taller than the box to set the scanner on. This will keep the sheets neatly stacked, and will let you scan hundreds of pages without stopping.

Pros: Compact, nice design, looks cool

Cons: Jams, Jams, and Jams. I use this scanner for light to medium scanning and if your documents are folded or contain staples that have been removed before scanning, your documents will jam! I literally have to scan each page (from a 50 page packet of documents). I even straighten each page out but it still jams.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this scanner is NOT worth it at all. I was looking for a document scanner and I read the reviews on this. When I bought it over a year ago I was planning on doing light-medium scanning but this unit jams really often. I would not recommend this scanner to anyone.

Pros: It's so fast! My office purchased this for me. I was using flatbed scanners. Not only is the feeder convenient but it scans so quick. The documents look great. It's easy to use. The software that comes with it is use friendly. I love the one-touch scan button.

Cons: It doesn't buy me lunch.

Other Thoughts: I use a web-based database. This is great for turning all my paper files into E-files.

Pros: Very solid scanner, works exactly as expected and image quality is high.

Cons: Scan software provided supports limited formats(PDF & JPG). Had to look into other options to do things like multi-page TIFF.

Other Thoughts: I'm extremely pleased with this purchase, and given the value, I would not expect an extremely robust software package.

Pros: The scanner is an attractive silver gray color and small size. It rapidly scans items of various sizes into the Organizer Scansnap folder, from where they can be stored in Organizer cabinets and folders or any other existing folder in the computer. Although the default file created is pdf, formats like excel or word can be used where the file can be easily edited. For purposes of scanning and storing printed items, this scanner is excellent. I highly recommend this scanner. Even if a person doesn't particulary require a scanner, it is a worthwhile gadget to own due to its small size, attractive appearance, and easy practical usefulness. Cons: The small paper support door at the top of the paper support needs taping to remain extended. The file save does not allow saving in a new folder unless the folder is created ahead of time in windows explorer.

Other Thoughts: The software included with the scanner is very good. I didn't purchase the edition with the Rack filer software due to the dissatifaction in reviews I read. I am pleased that I didn't.

Pros: The scanner works very well and fast, very easy to clear the very rare jam. I've used the Rack2-Filer software excursively so far. The final presentation is exactly the way I used to bind hard copy, but with all the virtual features (annotations, sticky notes, OCR). R2-F was well worth the few extra bucks.

Cons: The Rack2-Filer software could be just a little more intuitive (considering its stand-alone price). e.g, reorder tabs easier, drag-and-drop sections. (/nit)

Other Thoughts: I still have to explore the basic organizer and do more OCR tasks, but I'm blasting through stacks of papers, notes, statements, receipts and enjoying the paperless lifestyle.

The price seemed a little high at first (for an individual), but no other product came close. Dealing with all my mail and paperwork was a tax on my life. Now the price seem minimal for what I've gained (my life, my desk, my office).

Pros: We're a law firm. We scan docs to pdfs and store them on our network. Fits on a desktop - a little bigger than a Kleenex box. Hardware and software are very simple to use. Even my technophobe partners figure it out in 5 minutes. Sheet feeder has only jammed twice in over a year! Just an ideal scanner for our needs.

Cons: Minor quibble: In the automatic two-sided scanning mode, almost any unintentional mark on the reverse side of a one-sided document will cause it to scan an extra page. I agree that the exit tray seems a little flimsy, but ours has held up for over a year. Some reviewers point out that it's not twain compatible. This is completely irrelevant for how we use it.

Pros: i love this fantastic device! i am getting organize!

Cons: rack-2 filer is not easy to use, but i still it as i learn its features and uses.

Pros: Amazing. Fast. Oh so fast. Quiet. Compact. Well designed. Trouble free. We put a bunch of pages of misc. docs in the feeder, press the button and the docs all appear on the monitor. We used to use the all-in-one type scanners/printer/fax... should have bought this years ago!

Cons: Not TWAIN compatable.

Other Thoughts: Worth every penny if you're filing papers as pdf's in your computer (kind'a moving to a paperless or at least file cabinet-less office).
If only we could stack more pages in the feeder at once and didn't have to pay so much more for a TWAIN compatable model.

Pros: nice features, handles documents quickly. Great for a medical office.

Cons: extremely flimsy catch tray. Very easily broken. First one delivered to me was already broken on arrival - either at the factory or it wasn't really a new unit. The replacement unit Newegg sent helped me see why the first was broken - the hinges on the catch tray are cheap, flimsy and easily broken. Lean anything on it and it will break. Bad design from Fujistsu.

Other Thoughts: too bad about the catch tray, the last Fujistsu model S510 I had was perfect.
