5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Scanner!

Pros: Easy set up, nice design, quick and smart configuration. Works with many different size documents. CardMinder software organizes business cards easily. Closes nicely for minimal storage. Light and easy to carry if needed.

Cons: Black design gets white paper dust all over from our scanning project. Inside gets dusty too, just natural though. Not too much negative to say about the scanner.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT COMPATIBLE WITH SERVER 2008R2

Pros: The scanner is fast

Cons: The bundle software does not support Windows Server 2008/2880R2. Fujitsu blocks the installation on the OS.

Other Thoughts: Don't spend extra money to get a bundle if you are planning to use it on the server OS.

4 out of 5 eggsI love this scanner

Pros: 1) Scans fast (new computer, usb 3.0 connection)
2) Bundled software works well (I mainly have been just "scanning to file" with ScanSnap manager)
3) 1 jam out of 1,000 pages
4) Can scan very small papers (receipts, ect) with other sizes in the same batch without a hiccup.

PDF's come out sharp and clear even when source is wrinkled. Page folds do show up, but it has to be pretty deep creasing

Cons: Auto detection of color sometimes will scan in B&W when I would pick grey scale to deal with finely dithered monochrome documents.
Auto detection of page orientation gets it right most of the time .. seems to not like a page of very small text.

Other Thoughts: This scanner is replacing a old but much more expensive scanner (B&H Sidekick 1200) and it seems to have more functionality and just as speedy and reliable.
For the price I am very happy with this product and would recommend it over the scanning function of a AIO printer hands down, as the time it saved verses the price was worth it to me.

5 out of 5 eggsScanSnap iX500

Pros: Fast, easy way to digitize paper. Takes up very little space on the desk compared with my previous flatbed scanner and is SO much faster to use. The software bundle all works together well. It is nice to be able to edit my old .pdf files to get rid of blank pages.

Cons: The software bundle installs as 4-5 separate programs rather than one multi-capable one but they all work just fine so no real problem.

Other Thoughts: I have been using a flatbed scanner for years and while it does a good job it is time consuming to sit next to it and feed one sheet at a time, turning it over when necessary. The auto doc. feeder on this works well, even with different sized paper. Wish I had this after I closed my business and had to dispose of reams of old documents.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than others

Pros: I can't tell you how many other scanners in its class that I have deployed that can't handle a large stack of papers without passing more than one and jamming. This thing works perfect. Deployed in a high volume scanning environment and it got the job done without a single problem. Software is stable and easy to use.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Scanner

Pros: latest FW/SW allows WiFi connectivity to PC
duplex scanning
good number of pages per scan

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have found this to be an excellent scanner and I have not had any major issues with it so far. I hit a few bumps when setting up the WiFi connectivity, but wasn't anything to really complain about. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I haven't tried using any of the additional software other than Adobe, which having a full version of is a nice bonus.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is an excellent scanner. It scans both sides of the sheet as it is fed through. It has not snagged on any previously staples pages like other scanners that I have used. The images are excellent and have not had any lines or other artifacts on them.

The software included with the scanner is easy to use. It has lots of options that I have yet to have used.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Excellent scanner for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsScansnap ix500 Deluxe

Pros: Probably the best improvement in our small office within the past 25 years. This scanner has made scanning proposals, building specs, documents, and everything else we throw at it into a fast, easy, effortless process. The 50 sheet autofeed tray is great so you dont need to keep feeding in a few pages at a time. The speed is amazing just shoots right through while scanning both sides of the document and with the software, bundling it into a single pdf or saving it to a virtual file cabinet on your desktop. Highly recommended for small office users

Cons: Sometimes it reads that there is a document overlap error and scans some documents upside down, probably something that could be fixed but its not that big of a problem as to where i would take points off the rating. The only other con is that it can only be used with the computer that it is connected to, it cant be set up to be used as a network device. Unless thats a problem with the usb port compatibility on my router.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best ScanSnap Yet

Pros: -Full Version of Software with bundled version of this product (including adobe standard)
-Scan to tablet/phone via free fujitsu software
-Scan to PC (wired)
-Scan to PC over wireless (*Required firmware upgrade, done automagically buy scansnap software)
-Fully wireless operation
-Adobe Software provides fully searchable PDF
-Visual Organizer (Scan Snap) doesn't store data proprietary formats (just an easy to back up files structure that exists even if the program is deleted)

Cons: - Desktop Software sometimes requires a restart (close then re-open) if wifi signal is interrupted

Other Thoughts: These scanners are great, fast duplexed ADF units. I recommend them to clients frequently.

5 out of 5 eggsStand and Deliver

Pros: I got access to the S1500 version of this model many years ago. It has been reliable and resilient. When there is a problem, it tends to do the right thing (e.g. if there is a job, toss the incomplete page and restart the job at that point).
I've scanned many thousands of pages with this device with no problems.

Cons: There are a few rough edges that the newer models corrected. If a job is set to ask for more pages, it is necessary to quit the job and then not discard the work in process... there should be a <DONE SCANNING> option. The USB2 can be swamped at higher resolution. The PC software should start processing pages as they are received, especially OCR.

Other Thoughts: It would be great if this had an optional battery module and USB port to scan into. That way it could be used in the field, without a computer attached.
