3 out of 5 eggsN0 TWAIN Support

Pros: For me? There are no PROS. The ScanSnap series does NOT support TWAIN.

Cons: I expect scanners to support TWAIN. If you look through all the info here at NewEgg, you will discover that it does SAY that it doesn't support TWAIN, but It's isn't noted prominently in the item description.

Other Thoughts: It's my fault for not researching this device completely, but it should be a WHOLE LOT CLEARER that this isn't compatible with ANY third party software.

2 out of 5 eggsGood While It Lasts

Pros: Ease of use, reasonable price, good reproduction, small foot print.

Cons: Poor Wi-fi connectivity. Short life.

Other Thoughts: Worked well enough for six months and then refused to even feed paper. I'm good at this and tried every trick I could find to make it work. Nothing. Try something different.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best desktop scanners on the market

Pros: Fujitsu really stepped up their game w/the iX series scanners. I have purchased about 10 of these in the past 2 years for small medical offices where they do heavy scanning of medical charts and such. Zero issues. I will continue to buy these for clients too. High speed scanning and organization. Feature rich, Adobe PDF Standard software included (in the deluxe bundle only). Doesn't take up much space on the desk, folds up nice and compact.

Cons: No cons really, except the wifi part isn't simple to figure out.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product. In scanners, you get what you pay for. This scanner isn't inexpensive, but it's not a piece of junk either. I is a workhorse that will last years.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Able to scan many pages continuously. Scanner and associated software is easy to use and fairly customizable. For a package that comes with Adobe Standard (~$200) it is a great deal.

Cons: Has high tendency to produce scan lines when scanning many sheets with full color pictures. Sometimes the rollers will grab an incorrect sheet.

Other Thoughts: I am using the scanner to scan in old magazines and documents and works very well for the needs. Only wished it had a higher DPI capability and ability to accept larger paper.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: non

Cons: This is a piece of junk, it doesn't do any thing more than a print/scanner and a good software program. It does not connect to any network devices by wireless unless you use the supplied cable each and every time.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sleek look, and fairly compact to save desk space....oh and USB 3.0 but that's about all it's got going for it.

Cons: - This unit has to be extremely close to a WAP to get anything more than a weak signal.
- Software is buggy in Windows 8 environment, either x86 or x64, installs fine but won't run after installation, not practical for RDS or network-only scanning.
- No web interface or telnet options for advanced setup, forcing the user to configure via USB, not always practical in a BUSINESS environment or thin clients using pass through (there are printers that cost less than $100 that even have this option).
- For a device that costs over $400, I would expect an Ethernet option on top of USB 3.0 and Wifi.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this product, whatever you do, don't lose the box. I did, and now I'm stuck with it. If you're a home user running Windows 7 (can't speak for Mac OS) and have USB 3.0 ports on your computer, go for it.

4 out of 5 eggsSuperior Performance

Pros: Very Fast
Wi-Fi
Great Support
Works well on Mac OS X
Free Adobe Acrobat Standard
Frequent Software Updates

Cons: Kinda Expensive
Most of the extra software is PC only (which sucks)
I wish it didn't have an external power brick.

3 out of 5 eggsAMAZING but drivers can be weird

Pros: Great performance. It really is the best type of device that does this I've owned.

I don't have anything negative to say about performance and utility.

Cons: BIG CON-- It had such high reviews when I purchased it I expected this thing to be indestructible.

After a few months though, I couldn't get WINDOWS 7 ULT to recognize the ScanSNAP (aka it will NOT function at all).

I will try to hook up to a different computer , but I've had this issue several times and because I eventually can fix with the disc from manufacturer, I am giving FUJITSU and other reviews the benefit of the doubt on this thing.

TEXT RECOGNITION IS WONDERFUL, and you might find yourself pleased with its bundled software, although I prefer to manage my own files without excessive software and found it at times a bit annoying to have to click through stuff.

I'd really ask around though, this thing is awesome, and I think most people will be happy. It's great if you don't have the above issues and FUJITSU has good videos which do accurately give you advanced notice and a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Other Thoughts: Its awesome as long as you don't run into installation problems. I still would buy again despite not having the best of luck with device recognition.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Scanner!

Pros: Easy set up, nice design, quick and smart configuration. Works with many different size documents. CardMinder software organizes business cards easily. Closes nicely for minimal storage. Light and easy to carry if needed.

Cons: Black design gets white paper dust all over from our scanning project. Inside gets dusty too, just natural though. Not too much negative to say about the scanner.
