This third generation mobile scanner is powered by the USB bus and does not require external power. Scan to your PC, laptop or netbook, in your office, at the airport, in your truck, at your customer site or on the road. The included office dock allows you to share the S420 with two PCs in the office.

The MobileOffice S420 also features advanced image processing that allows you to scan mixed sized documents with no adjustments. Images are automatically straightened, rotated and adjusted for exposure. The result is more accurate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and fewer pages that need to be rescanned. The included software productivity suite allows you to easily create and manage searchable PDFs. DocAction single touch scanning and industry standard TWAIN drivers ensure compatibility with thousands of scanning and imaging programs.

I'm not sure what program is giving you the font error, but you are correct that the scanner does not have an automatic document feeder on it. Sorry you had problems with your scanner.

The scanner is configured from the factory to produce PDFs by pressing the PDF button on the scanner. I'm not sure what program is giving you the font error, but you are correct that the scanner does not have an automatic document feeder on it. The stand is only there to help guide the pages into the scanner.
