Pros: The scanner was exactly the size I wanted and when it worked it worked very well.

When it worked the resolution and image quality was very good.

Price was better than most other brands.

Cons: Frequently would start streaking the image that would not go away easily using the cleaning tools.

Has problems scanning glossy finish pictures and the scanning sleeve supplied makes the pictures look dull.

Fussy - sometimes the computer would not recognize the scanner when plugged in and would have to power off/on the computer for it to start working.

Feeder would frequently make the document scan askew. Not a severe problem but was just annoying.

Other Thoughts: When I bought this scanner and it worked well, it was just the right scanner. Size, resolution, image quality was just what I wanted. The only bad things was that it would not feed glossy pictures and when using the plastic sleeve it would make the pictures dull and lose quality. Also, when scanning normal paper documents it would often not feed them exactly straight. This wasn't a severe problem but just annoying.

But, after about a month of use, the unit started having streaks that would not go away with even the most diligent cleaning. I had to send it in under warranty repair and was sent another refurbished unit which worked well for about another 9 months when it started doing it again.

Since it is now out of warranty I have no choice but to find another scanner.

While the scanner was what I wanted for a good price (while it worked), I can't recommend it because of reliability issues. I am now looking for another scanner. I'll probably go with a known brand with a higher price tag. It's true that you get what you pay for.

Pros: Its small and light weight. Very portable

Cons: This thing is a piece of junk! When it did work it smeared the image and if it was a document I had to tape the document to a piece of cardboard just so it was thick enough to run it through. Then later it started telling me that there is no paper in it. I guess the real problem I have with this item is there is no support. I've called Mustek over and over again only to be on hold for literally hours and today I got so frustrated after 33 mins. I just hung up. They do not answer emails. Now it is out of warranty and I know that I will be stuck with it. It feels like I just threw $112.00 out the window. Do not buy this scanner or anything from Mustek!

Other Thoughts: Support at Mustek is not there! If you are looking for a scanner I suggest get one that has support people that want to help!

Pros: Portable, small, functional, cost effective. Ease of installation.

Cons: Very seldom, it will have problems with the 64 bit drivers and it will have to be unplugged and plugged back in. But at least don't have to reboot.

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if it came bundled with filing software like it used to be.
