5 out of 5 eggsJust the ticket if you need a PCMCIA card

Pros: I needed to find a newer PCMCIA card for an older laptop in order to connect to a WPA2 encrypted network, and this gets the job done nicely. (May need latest drivers for WPA2 support, see cons)

Works great with CentOS 6.2 Linux - kernel has driver pre-installed

Site Survey Utility for Windows works well

Compatible with rare 802.11 "a" networks

Cons: Cisco won't let you download drivers unless you have a service contract with them; buying the hardware is not sufficient reason to have drivers in their eyes. The driver disk in the retail box is pretty old (v2.1). I had to download the latest Windows driver (v4.5) from an offshore "repository".

Other Thoughts: These cards were sold in bulk to hospitals, schools, etc. Thus, there is a glut of them on the secondary market now and new ones can be found for a fraction of original price.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card, bad price

Pros: Fast connection

Cons: Windows XP didn't have the built in driver
PRICE PRICE OH WOW, THE PRICE

Other Thoughts: We were throwing out a few laptops at work, so I took three of them to keep. Each had this wireless card in it. XP didn't have native drivers, so it was pretty hard to get the driver file on the computer.. The cd drive didn't work, and I had no floppy drive I could put it on a disk! But I managed to get an ethernet card, and it worked fine after I got the driver.
Looking online, $100 for it new? Unbelievable! This is legacy tech. It shouldn't be sold for $100 new. $20 sounds fair, if it should be sold at all.
But according to newegg I now have $300 in pcmcia wireless cards. O,o

3 out of 5 eggsThe card

Pros: It works and is easy to install.

Cons: The thing sticks out too far in the lap top and it will snap off if you do not watch out. I have seen 4 so far.

Other Thoughts: Someone got the smart idea to get 50 of these for are Panasonic laptops at work so we can get a better connection. Guess what, the dead spots are still at work and the cards dont get a better connection.

5 out of 5 eggsBest card on the market 5 years ago and today

Pros: I have used many wireless adapters, and this one surpasses them all by far. The range and throughput are amazing on this thing. I regret selling my last one as a package on my other laptop. I am buying it for the 2nd time. No need for devices with antennas when using net stumbler...Well worth the price.

Cons: none than I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Card

Pros: I have a Aironet 350 802.11b card. I also have built-in wireless and other b/g/n PC card from popular retail manufactures.
I still use my good old scratched up 350 I got about 5 years or so ago. Its give me better range of them all, fast download, web surfing.
Can't have Cisco Quality.
People think Linksys use Cisco Hardware, LOL.

Cons: None. I need new one but $$$

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing rocks

Pros: This thing RULES! Cracked my WEP in 45 minutes. Got it free from my mom so no cons on price (she was going to throw it away!!!) NetStumbles insanely fast.

Cons: NONE AT ALL!!!

Other Thoughts: This card is great, even for the money, cracks WEP fast if you know what you're doing.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great card with all the features of a regular one, and it sure makes war-driving easy! Yes quality, but it's only in my opinion a regular card, although others will disagree with me. I also liked the looks of it, sturdy card.

Cons: PRICE PRICE PRICE! Yes quality, but it's only in my opinion a regular card, although others will disagree with me.

Other Thoughts: maybe if the price was around sixty dollars, then I;'d buy it again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Cisco makes the highest quality cards with the highest quality software. Everything else belongs in the dumpster.

Cons: Price.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb wifi cards for older notebooks

Pros: I have an OLDER Cisco Aironet 802.11b card for my work laptop. Not only is the card great, but the Cisco ACU software lets you do loads more diagnostic work than other cards. Site surveys, link quality tests, scans. I truly crave this a/b/g model.

Cons: Price. You can get a b/g card for 1/3 this price ... but you wouldn't get the quality, and software support. YMMV.
