Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (labor): 1 year
Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Working fine now that the dll problem is fixed.
Cons: Shortly after installing DWA-652, my laptop stopped displaying the welcome screen. I was only able to log on to a limited account and it appeared that the admin account was gone. Because I didn't associate the network card install with the welcome screen problem, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to do. I could not use recovery, system restore, etc. because they all require admin authority. I finally stumbled across the answer. The install replaced the Microsoft version of the Graphical Identification and Authentication file (Msgina.dll), which messed up Fast User Switching and the Welcome Screen. A simple registry fix restored the MS dll and the problem went away.

Other Thoughts: Obviously not everyone got the dll problem or it would have been mentioned. Just trying to save some else the frustration I experienced.

Pair with DI-655 Router and Blaze

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Fits tightly and does not jostle itself loose. Surpasses my installed laptop wireless reception capability by 50%. Pair this with the DI-655 wireless router and my internet connection really pop. Remember to disable any existing wirelss adapators prior to installing.
Cons: Running Vista and when following the instructions with the enclosed install CD, it directed to install the software and then the adaptor. Doing so, would not complete the setup. Called Dlink (10 minute hold) and they had me install the adaptor first. When Windows identified "Found New Hardware", I selected find drivers from CD. It worked ! Might be a glitch in the instructions, as the instructions talked about Windows XP and Windows 2000. Not a mention about Vista.
Other Thoughts: Dlink customer support was good and waited to make sure I had a good wireless connection before they hung up. Newegg is #1 in speedy delivery and customer care. Thanks for a great experience.
