The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 2-Port ExpressCard/34 instantly adds two SuperSpeed 3.0 ports to your ExpressCard-enabled desktop or notebook computer. It is designed to deliver data transfer rates of up to 5Gb/s and work with systems having an available 34mm or 54mm ExpressCard slot. Its hot-swapping USB 3.0 interface allows you to connect and disconnect USB devices without first turning your system off.

The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 2-Port ExpressCard/34 works with a wide variety of high-bandwidth USB 3.0 devices, including SuperSpeed USB 3.0 hard disk drive enclosures, high-resolution webcams, video surveillance cameras, digital video cameras, and multi-channel audio devices, while maintaining backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices and allows simultaneous operation of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. The included ExpressCard plastic guide, secures this 34mm adapter in a 54mm ExpressCard slot, effectively preventing accidental ejection or disconnect from the 54mm ExpressCard slot.

Will not power single USB 3.0 external drives. you will need to spend another 20 bucks and power up your Usb 3.0 devices. Do not purchased unless you want to add 20 dollars to the price you just paid for the card. This review is from: SIIG JU-EC0112-S1 2-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ExpressCard - Retail Pros: ExpressCard 34, 2 ports Cons: Does not work with Toshiba Cavio drives. Other Thoughts: I suspect that the laptops that can't use this card are not putting out enough power to drive the particular device on their ExpressCard 34 port. This particular card has a place to plug in an external power supply. This power supply is 5 VDC and 2.3 amps. The USB 3.0 spec requires 900ma instead of the 500ma of the USB 2.0. My Toshiba Cavio drive works find plugged into a USB 2.0 port. It is somewhat recognized by Device Manager but can not be initialized or used as a 3.0 device. Mark F. 7/26/2010 5:28:21 PM Ownership: 4/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 1/5Not compatible w/Toshiba A505 This review is from: SIIG JU-EC0112-S1 2-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ExpressCard - Retail Pros: Not able to use since it was not compatible with my PC Cons: External sound card did not work correctly through ExpressCard. However, other USB devices did work but only when card is first inserted. After 10 minutes being idle, mouse freezes and thumb drive disappears. After external harddrive caused blue screen crash each time when connected to Expresscard, SIIG technical supported advised returning product because it is not compatible with a Toshiba A505 Windows 7 64 bit PC.
